Liathach - Hiking Scotlands Finest Mountain

Great video, did this in 2006. We were warned about the by-pass path being a bad option, unfortunately we reached a point that my wife refused to climb, so we had to use the by-pass. I’ve never been as scared in my life, before or since 😂😂 we were entirely convinced we wouldn’t see the end of the day. It remains one of my most treasured memories, & my 10 year old son has repeatedly requested I take him up there 😂😂 one day…hmmm

Thank you for this footage. I am visiting Scotland in just 2 weeks and plan to do 2-3 hikes - I am making my list right now. This one, then Suilven and munroes in Glencoe. The trip is mostly aimed at photography, not so much at hiking as such. Thanks to your video I concluded that the best view will probably be from where you finished the hike and it will save me time, effort and risk :-) Let me know if you disagree. Keep doing this, it's helpful for folks even from different countries. Cheers!

Not sure what you're using for insect repellent but "Skin So Soft" from Avon is the best Ive had tried & tested (Lakes/Europe/Aus & NZ) 👍

I was hoping you had a 'big' trip planned for this albeit soggy summer, and you give us the Liathach traverse!😃. Once again your video quality gives such a glorious sense of being there. My own stravaig along this mountain some years back is etched in my memory, for the same reasons as yourself, a continuously varying magical mountain scenery that is Torridon! Oh, and solid rock underfoot, and often hand, end to end. Choice of camp on soggy ground by the lochside in prime midge season not recommended! But the views were everything. Only problem now is waiting a week for your next episode. I'll guess and say Beinn Alligan?

Great video but think I'll stick to just driving past Liathach on the road to Torridon. That "bypass path" looks genuinely terrifying. You've got far much more courage than I ever will.

A jagged looking ridge there, we call them narrow arse ridges "razorbacks" in NZ. Spectacular scenery, great effort guys

Well done, guys. Yeah, what a place eh? Not sure which is worse, going over the pinnicles, or taking the bypass path. I remember taking the bypass path many years ago and seeing the road in the glen between my feet!

Lucky guy - you're living my dream. ive wanted to visit since i was a kid, im an Elliott so we have history there, im Australian and have 5 year old kids, at the age of 32 i dont think ill ever be able to visit :(
