Nice! Never used the logical maps before. I do use GPS in our units in the field to auto populate the SNMP location string which librenms show us on the geo map. Cool trick .
I'm currently using TheDude but might toy with LibreNMS after seeing this. TheDude is just really sluggish and overall pretty limited (can't have the same device on 2 maps, that is already a huge limitation).
@@FinlayDaG33k the only really benefit I see to the dude these days is that you can have remote mikrotiks run the agent so you don't have to have SNMP flying over the network. It was a much bigger concern when I only had 1.5mbit of satellite backhall for 500 customers
That looks really neat; will have to give that app a go. It feels like someone needs to write an auto edge connector that can at least suggest what it looks like the connected ports possibly are - must be in the ARP tables ?
I worked with software that produced maps eliciting the same reaction as yours - FH. What I really want for this sort of thing is done from the CLI, so that I can parse it, reproduce it, and export it. Thanks for the iperf, I'd forgotten about that.
Why do you have the edges and ports manually? Would be good when visibility and location on the map can be deduced from attributes („building“) automatically
Nice one! Never bothered with that either! But I guess I will now! :D Too bad it cant update dynamically. Guess I need to script it directly from the database.
I don't see the Custom Map Editor button. My maps section is under Overview, it's not it's own button in the menu like yours shows. How do I add custom maps?
That's what I thought - I've not used Cacti in a few years, but the maps and graphs all had a bit of deja vu going on - I remember the tedium of building switch maps with 48 ports each plus interlinks.
For when say, a VLAN is limited to 50Mbps during "normal" operation but is allowed to take 75Mbps for 60 seconds (burst) if there is bandwidth to spare. At that point, it'd show 150%.
need that in my life. looks really nice. when you said it's live now, how is it tracking? you have port mirroring on switch and running a router thats using some software to track? 100% gigabit saturation, noice
Hi, I just reinstalled Libre from the finished OVA template. Now I've added a few switches and servers. Why don't I have the Maps button in my main overview at all, what am I doing wrong?
