Matt did a great job at the pool heater👍 but not so grate at the meter #1 you need a pressure tap tee past the regulator in order to set & check pressures at the regulator (working & lock up ). #2 a riser should have a shut off before it , in order to isolate the under ground line off & if a pressure tap tee is added you can pressure test it EZ. & #3 risers should be connected with an insulated union to give the risers cathodic protection ,yes the polyethylene pipe does not need cathodic protection but the risers do. Nice neat job, just not perfect.
OK, great job Mike, piping in that pool heater. From the location of the gas riser to the piping of that gas train (shut off ,regulator , sediment trap & union 👍). Nice ,neat, level & plumb. The meter side was nice ,just needed to add a shut off for the under ground line (a tee would be nice after the shut off for pressure testing access),a tee after the house regulator, inorder to take & adjust pressures . Also, check into those insulated unions for protecting under ground installations (google it ,insulated unions) the gas utilities install one on every meter set. Stay safe & get a sun pass, you will save a buck or two on those tolls.
Thank you for sharing. With UPS's new contract of 2024, they now get Dr King's day off, but Amazon was working. Looking good in Florida. All the best, and God bless you and the family.
That's the newest outdoor Rinnai. I have the previous gen. Not one problem and I service mine every year. It's 4 years old and I compared my flame rods to brand new spares. No loss of material at all. Slightly discolored compared to new but that was it. I gave them a good cleaning while I was flushing the heat exchanger.
Great video in Florida can't wait for your videos for Carolina and curious which one of your guys from New York is going to relocate to Carolina or Florida. Also a side note I bet you missed your mega press for those gas lines lol have a great day be safe let's make America great and the trades great again
Working in NC for the last 6+ years I see a lot of high pressure gas, especially in new developments. I used to live and work in NJ, and we never saw high pressure gas. Definitely takes some getting used too.
I'm not even a plumber, but I will not allow mega press or sharkbite fittings on my gas or water lines. I have never seen an o-ring that doesn't fail at some point, usually many years before a crimp, solder or threaded joint.
Obviously, they got a few things to learn that particular regulators is not great with tankless water heaters and/or pool heaters. Secondly, the regulator should be downstream of the valve where I could come service it without shutting the gas off. I wonder if they have a monometer and they’re actually gonna do a drop test, and is the gas supplier involved in the 2 psi upgrade I’m sure they’re not be 31Q.
Christopher,I didn’t notice the vent limiter. It should have a rain shield in place of the vent limiter . If it does have a vent limiter, you have a good eye and the installation would be wrong . EZ fix, just replace the vent limiter with a rain shield.
@@MikeyPipesOrlando Thanks. I have heard negatives about Maxitrol but all my suppliers seem to only want to sell Maxitrol in the smaller sizes, but no specifics on what might be wrong with Maxitrol.
😮WHAT🫣 At 7:40 are they Tripping? 0.0 galvanized, gas line.?? Man oh man talk about an instant Red tag in Michigan -Ohio- Indiana . WoW must be black pipe an can be painted for protection but that would get me a slap on the head from the inspector… However The Master got a D- on install? 0.0 Hello NASA we got a problem the world just stopped turning!!! Fla is definitely different down there but other than that “ small teeny tiny boo boo? Nice install and is a great idea to keep the required gas pressure up on all units!!!!
@@MikeyPipesOrlando yea your right . Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island not that far in distance, but day and night difference on the building codes. She always did say on the telephone one time No two inspectors can get their shit together. 🤣🤣🤣 she was a jack of all trades an master of none.🤷🏻♂️ Michigan farm girl 🤣🤣 her pet saying always was: if men can do it girls can do it better. She was sparky 🤦♂️ but when you grow up with nothing but 6 brothers ya kick ass an take no prisoners😁😁
Galvanized pipe is excepted by the national fuel gas code ,NFPA 54 ,GAMA & AGA. The processing of new galvanized pipe is now acceptable and since manufactured gas is no longer used , natural gas has little effect on the pipe. Galvanized pipe is not allowed under ground unless it has an approved coating over the top of it ,like green line tape or approved mastic. Sounds like your state or municipal code need to step up to the 21st century .
Hmmm. Regs need to be ten feet from any source of ignition or vented away. Line needs to be bonded Need meter upgrade. Between stove, pool heater and Tankkess u have a min of 650 btus and there is a 250 meter We like Full port WOG ball valves not those restricted small port
I caught that too and was wondering what the cubic feet was by increasing to 2-3 psi. In my neck of the woods we don't have much high pressure so looking at 800 - 1000 Cu Ft meter... and big pipe! BTW, I can't tell from the outside, but that pool heater could be 200, 300, or 400k BTUs. We also do remote venting of regs here in Ct. but with frost issues we MUST make sure to pitch the line for condensation.
Flatville, where they nickel and dime you for everything, just to maintain your house. Swamp rats don’t just live in DC ! Enjoy your first hurricane Mikey ! PS,, buy road cameras, front and back.
The gas valve should be before the regulator on that p/h. That way if the regulator fails and or leaks could be shut off. Sorry, I saw that you were told on the video 😎🤣🤣and it might work for you on leak testing that way, but is not right. A manometer leak test is the way. How do you know if the p/h gas valve is not bypassing. You must do a manometer test. To check for gas leaks and gas pressure. The gas valve on unit has the ports to do them. Last thing, put a mouse/rat trap near the unit. The wire harness on the inside right come from factory with soy bean coating. Rats love them and will bite into them cause unit to short and stop working. Believe me, I’ve worked them multiple times.
The tolls are around Orlando. Most of the state doesn't have them. Pipe dope is a thread lubricant and joint sealing compound. Keep it real Mikey Pipes. Make the trades great again. #LoveBosch Please Like, Share, and Subscribe folks.
@tdadp It's the climate that damages the roads in the north. Florida does not have that issue for the most part, so these tolls are common because the lack of tax revenue otherwise.
