When I got my Redodo 100AH battery for this box a week ago, I also bought a 20 amp LiFeP204 AC charger. Now that I have both the battery and the box, I plan to use the boxes Anderson connectors to connect to the AC charger. The charger has ring terminals so I am going to cut those off and crimp a 50 Watt Anderson connector. That way I won't have to open the box to recharge the battery.
Great review 👍👍. I have the same charger, I bought a 50amp anderson connector with 10awg wire on it and soldered a xt60 connector on it to go from charger to to the box, also I use a bougerv 40amp mppt charge controller to charge the battery from solar much faster. I also replaced one of the usb ports with a 85 watt usb, usb -c PD port to have the usb-c at 65 watts for charging my macbook so far working great with no issues. I love the Licitti power box been using it for about 4 months with a times usb 100ah lifepo4 battery.
I checked. I had the box in the garage and had about 86-90F in the garage. With a 300w load the box toon got up to 122F. The inverter is right underneath.
Very good product for it's price! And now you save few thousand bucks for not having to buy those ridigilously expensive Power boxes like Jackery, Anker, Ecoflow... 👍
How about modifying your AC charger by replacing its alligator clips with a 50A Anderson connector. Then you can charge the battery without opening the box.😅
Not sure if I have the right video. You published one replacing the standard PC 3.0 port with a 65 watt upgrade. I installed it only to notice that the port didn't light up when I connected it. The standard port next to it did, so I thought this was some kind of defect. Turns out you have to push the little button to make the light go on. Just be aware of this when you install the mod.
Hi Tobi. thanks for all the info and knowledge sharing. I have one of these and curious how the Victron Smart Sense is working. I tried to fit a TBD Smart Shunt into the box. The form factor is too small and Licitti indicated this isn't possible. Any other thoughts on how to get bluetooth with an app ? I've thought about the Smart Sense and a Victron Smart Solar controller. By the way, the battery is a Dr Prepare 100ah. If I go Victron, it opens up expansion to Venus OS and Raspberry Pi. Thanks for reading.
Thanks for watching! I have not thought about this yet to get a victron product in. The smart sense at least gives you a voltage reading. I do have the Lithova battery with Bluetooth in it which helps a lot for reading the % of state. Let me see if I can come up with an idea.
hi i want to use this diy technique to power my rv using the 50amp plug that I usually plug into the camp site power pole.. is this possible? similar to the new power banks that can do that example: oupes mega 2 , 3 and 5 .. thanks
How can a single Anderson connector be both an input and an output port. Doesn't there need to be some sort of switching system involved? In stereos, there are microphones to input and speakers for output. Neither can do both.
No, it is a two way street. The box does have on/off switch and the smart shunt in between, but when you imagine there is just the black (negative) and red (positive) wire - it can do both. It is not limited to just output or input. The smart shunt is capable of measuring the current going through the wire in but also out. I hope this makes sense.
Warning: I just want to make sure everyone knows that, even though Licitti charges you $55 for 7 day UPS shipping it has been my experience that it may take several weeks, or more to receive your order. I’m not sure how long it will actually take, as I have not received my order yet and it has been a few weeks. The worst part is they have not responded to any of my emails requesting order updates and their web site chat does not seem to work either. Make sure you use a payment method with this company that will allow you to recover your funds if the product does not arrive. Has anyone out there, besides the reviewers, actually received these units and/or been able to communicate with the company? I am posting this on all of the sites I viewed before making my purchase to let others know to be careful. It seems like a good deal for what they offer, but it’s only a good deal if they are actually shipping products.
Thanks for sharing! This is not acceptable. I had a few viewers reach out to me with a similar experience. I'll try to get an email out to get their statement but I doubt they will really care since they have not responded to me since weeks either. I'll keep you all posted on my approach
Thanks Tobi, unfortunately this is pretty common with many of these Chinese companies that pop up, promise the world then disappear overnight. I should know better but I still on occasion will will try to do business with them. I have a small business and try to buy parts from North America, Europe, Japan or Korea but sometimes I have to look to China. My latest experience was for an item that I use about 100k to 200k units per year, I placed a small order for 200 with a Chinese company not letting them know my next order would be for 20k and of course they cheated me and only sent half the order and claimed I was trying to cheat them when I let them know I received half the order. I lost $25 but they lost a lot more. @@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi
I know what you mean... I just got an answer from Mark: "Because of the New Year, we have some shipment delays. As of yesterday, all our orders have been shipped to customers. We are very sorry for the bad customer experience for your subscribers. We will improve our after-sales service, please understand." I hope you can confirm this very soon. Tobi
Thank you Tobi, I also got a "FOUR" responses from Licitti over the night. Looks like posting my message on every RU-vid channel reviewing their products wakes up someone in the company. @@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi
can you check the output of the USB-C ports? On my box, the left USB-C port only outputs 25W and the right one only outputs 15W. It's not documented anywhere what the output for those ports should be so I was wondering if yours was the same.
@TobysReaifeSkills - Mod help Please: I bought the Blue Licitti New Battery Box 1,0000 watt with 280 Ah prismatic cells kit. The prismatic cells were charged great and awesome condition but due to the battery terminal extending on both sides too far, it won't fit the Blue Licitti battery box. We followed all the directions. There are other people on YT eho made RU-vid who made videos on moving the bus bars around and bending one of them to make a battery post stick up but I don't have those skills or experience to attempt to do something like that. Do you know a battery terminal post I can attach to one or both of the battery ends to make come down to the side or up? I have tried contacting Licitti but they haven't responded. They were very fast on answering questions when I was looking at buying it but not a peep now when I need them.
Thanks for watching! I made a video about the new battery box pro with exactly this issue mentioning. It's fairly easy to just unscrew. No bending or damaging needed. Just unbolt and turn the bracket around. I hope this helps!
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi yes everything is hooked up. No loose wires. When my battery charge hooked up to the box it dose not shut off if that might help
