We made a visit on opening day to the newest grocery store in the area. Lidl is a German based store. They have very good prices and a lot of organic foods.check it out. It was opening day so it is a bit noisy.
I live in Spain, madrid and Lidl always have special discounts and the german products are decilicious!! Especially each week they sell all kind of clothes, cameras, shoes, creams, everything!!
can't wait for them to open some LIDL's in Maryland!!!! I'm an Aldi convert and LIDL looks like a much larger version of Aldi and its always nice having the different seasonal food options that they offer at these german grocery stores!
2 of these stores are being planned in the York,Pa area. I am a big fan of Aldi and am slowly converting the bf so I am really curious how this place is going to differ. I see a lot of organic items in your video, more than aldi has. Those will surely reel in the bf.
Crazy in there?? That's no excuse. The bakery was right in front of you as you walked into the store. We would have loved to see what baked goods they offer. I drove 175 miles from Knoxville to see how Lidl compares with Aldi. We have 7 Aldi's in the Knoxville area but no Lidl as yet. Hope they plan to expand into Tennessee as well
Yup, the bakery is situated right at the entrance of Lidl stores. You grab what you want from the semi-opened display racks with the baking sheets provided and stuff them in the bakery bags. Along with pastries, they have whole loaves of bread where you can pick out, insert it into the automatic bread slicing machine, and pack it yourself. When all is said and done, you go to the adjacent touch screen to declare all the baked goods you have taken in order to print out scanning labels to place onto your bagged baked goods to be checked out at the register.
What happened? No bakery?!! 😳 😂 That was a great tour and I appreciate you for sharing this! 🤗 Seems like Lidl is stiff competition for Aldi. Looking forward to seeing the store in person. Be Blessed!
But I can imagine that many products are not organic at all but American law provides for these "products" to be called organic. I come from Germany and have never seen such products at LIDL. Of course, LIDL has adapted to the American market and mostly sells American products. But products labeled "organic" are very rare even in the German LIDL. Please American, don't just reach for it because it sounds good, read the description of the content. LIDL is a good shop where everyone can get cheap food, but LIDL is also a classically profit-oriented company.
Everything in the us is diffrend than europe. Even the europe brand lidl And aldi are diffrend. The products are own brands but even the (not real) brands are not the same
China Michelle, Is that store in Orangeburg and Greenville? What about Columbia? Do you know? I recently went to one in Hampton, VA. I thought I was in Heaven! It's great and the many choices, too!
Oh i live in Poland and Lidl is one of the most popular groceries! I really like going there beacuse THEY ARE EVERYWHERE and things there are really cheap but the overall quality is really good! They aren't as big tho
as a uk viewer it still seems expensive compared to lidl here in the uk and you also have to add sales tax in america, where ours is already in the final price
Lidl is ok to shop aswell here in germany, like the lidl brand zero cola is 39 cents with the money you get back if you return the bottle back to the store what is law here so less rubbish. By the way here in germany you would be called the cell phone man because here a cell phone is called a handy
Europe we pronounce it => LEE -DIAL kind of :) is not looking bad compared with the ones I know from The Netherlands. Wondering if they will use a HOME BRAND too or not. Looking nice thus far briefly visited the one opened in Indian Trail SC, waiting for the one to open in Rock Hill SC this week :)
If you're considering a job below management at Lidl, consider the following review from Indeed titled 'The confirmed route to depression.': A typical day at work would start with being patronised into working numerous 7 foot chiller euro pallets in 20 minutes each by the store manager and then getting thrown on till all day to reach a target of 32 items a minute for 8-10 hours a day. Then when the Store and Assistant Managers leave after a day of drinking coffee in the office, you have to run around with all responsibilities of senior managers on their mega-bucks i.e all fresh orders and fix all errors or face receiving a warning in the morning for not leaving the store in a presentable fashion for a measly £1 added to your wage per hour. The hardest part of the job is trying not to hang yourself from the company signage in the car park after the shift. The easiest part of the job is expecting condescending remarks. That's it, you've got it. Now go and make your own decision.
Do they have LOTS of ORGANICS though... lots of organic produce....grass fed beef and chicken NOT from north carolina (because it's gross tasting)?????
Lidl this is not a good start Lidl in Belleville New Jersey do not honer Lidl 10 dollars coupons and sales; If you see and ask for, you have to return your stuff and scan again... They either claim they forgot to scan or the scan is not working. It happened to me and 3 other customers when I was there. Looks organized with the word from upper management. They Lidl also haz at the entrance the flyer from past week; you get that and think you get good sales but you don't, you had the wrong flyer and now you will be embarrassed to question. If you do question you will be embarrassed again, because you got the wrong flyer... The cashers are trained not to help and prompt over sales via phone app. Lidl this is not a good start.
This is making me really sad It's just a supermarket chain making cheap low quality products yet many Americans seem to think it's "cool" or "chic" bc its European Come on now How can ppl be amazed and entertained by a super market chain?
I know in Germany was some Walmart and it didn't turn it not good because, the building was so big that pretty much way to far (I know it because I live in Germany and my mother told me that)
It depends how strictly the US keep their labour laws. Here in Britain, it doesn't seem to matter if Lidl regularly keep their staff on hours after their shift ended, without pay. Then again, looking at Walmart in the US I'm guessing you'll also be forced to sing and dance before you face your awful working conditions.
I feel sorry for the people that work at LIDL. I've been there myself. I've stopped shopping there because of the way they treat their employees. Its pure hell working there. They pay good money but you have to have balls of steel and absolutely no temper to manage working there. They treat you like a robot.
Random Whitewalker not neccesary think it depends on the management team u have at ur store I work for lidls uk and I'm very happy my store manGer is a amazing and all the other customer assistants I work with I'm very happy to work for lidls they pay very well regardless of ur age
I what way, if I may ask? Does Aldi have a bakery with freshly baked goods? Does Aldi remove fruits and vegetables from their shelves when they show signs of rot? My prediction: Lidl will eat their lunch!
The global impact of shipping a significant portion of their goods from Europe is not being considered. Their business practices consume an astounding amount of fossil fuel just to save a few bucks on the grocery bill. As a homesteader and Sustainable Agriculture student I cannot support that.
Thats wrong... Im from Germany. All Aldi/Lidl Products in the US are from the US because all the product i saw on the videos are NOT from here (Germany) we have complete different Products. You cant make products that cheap by Importing from Europe or where else. We have Europe Products you have US Products
