There's a scene in the original novel that wasn't in the Disney movie, where in an effort to get Pinnochio to cooperate the Blue Fairy calls in four rabbits dressed as undertakers who bring a coffin to Pinnochio's bedside and tell him that if he's going to refuse the Fairy's help, he might as well hop in. The last scene of the trailer obviously draws from that, possibly after you spurn the Blue Fairy's advice and embrace the Dark Side/Bad End? Oh this story is going to be a narrative treat, I can tell...
The Disney movie deviates from the original novel in many ways. In the novel Pinocchio encounters an unnamed talking cricket early on, but immediately accidentally kills it.
First we get three different Pinocchio movies, now a dark-souls esque, gritty rpg starring Pinocchio. I never thought we’d get a year of Pinocchio but here we go
Pretty sure it become free domain fairly recently, thus a bunch of stuff comes out for it. Just like with Winnie the Pooh becoming free domain and immediately a horror movie about it releases, and I expect to see more games based on it as well.
@@TheOnlyGhxst no it was public domain since 1940. If you look at the years before 2022, you'll see a lot of pinocchio movies. It's just a coincidence that 3 pinocchio movies were released this year.
This game has visual elements from my absolute favorite games of the last two generations: Bloodborne, Sekiro and Dishonored. The combat also seems fast paced and reminiscent of Platinum games. This has great potential if the story is good, and they release it without any technical issues.
this is one of the most original and creative things i have seen and as a massive Bloodborne fan, i have been keeping my eyes peeled ever since the initial announcement of this game. seeing this new trailer and the gameplay just further increased my hype and has not let me down from what i was expecting - if anything, it looks even better then what i had originally had hoped, which is totally rare these days. the aesthetic is so awesome. whoever thought of the idea to tell a tale of Pinnochio and have it in a Bloodborne vibe deserves huge praise.
The aesthethic feels very remanescent of Bloodborne, and the arm upgrades remind me of sekiro, but aside from that it looks like it will shine on it's own, can't wait
I am so unbelievably excited for this! It looks incredible, pulls upon the lore of the original story and has an amazing style to it. Easily one of my most anticipated games of next year!
Absolutely love the character design and how the arm reacts to the environment these scene in the first trailer where he sharpens his sword on his arm is so cool
This version of Pinocchio looks like V from Devil May Cry 5 little brother. I'm digging the direction they are going with this. Can't wait to see more.
@@determinedrisk sequel is Alice: Madness Returns. The 3rd game “Alice Asylum” was scheduled for 2020 I think but idk what happened. Haven’t heard anything yet
2:08 I lost it. THE PARRY… I am going to absolutely love this game. Sekiro x Bloodborne have my heart in terms of combat in video games. Not to mention all the steampunk gothic vibes. It has been so long since I’ve been genuinely very excited to play and game… from what I’ve seen so far the moment to moment gameplay looks like a lot of fun on its own.
A metal arm appearing to act as a multi tool including grapple and able to ignite a weapon with what can be assumed to be fire damage and an ability to stun combatants for an advantage?
Its so good to see this game actually being made. I remember seeing gameplay footage of it in a catalogue of games that probably never will actually get made.
Probably the human version...for now. If it's like a Souls-bourne game, then when you die, he becomes a marionette until he gains a Humanity resource lol
I guess? It's gameplay and (so far) level design is just blatantly Bloodborne. You can say what you want about it being different from modern AAA gaming, but there's no denying that it's just working off an existing style. I have hopes that the game will be good and it looks good, but the SoulsBorne formula is already becoming a standard in of itself and there hasn't been much innovation from it.
I actually caught myself thinking multiple times about this game since its last showcase, I'm actually really interested in it which doesn't happen much for me outside of AAA-games or from series that I am already a fan of. Let's hope it turns out well.
Probably talking about copy pasta style, since he basically just copied Bebop fighting animations for Naruto. Probably implying that this just copies Bloodborne and FromSoft games in general. There will always be a fine line between inspiration and plagiarization. I would just count this on the inspiration side and also noting that these games have become a genre by itself anyway. Looks great and full of passion so i think this joke is really bad.
Wow, a souls-like game that actually hits me in two different ways. My present self which is a true steampunk, and my childhood as a Pinocchio fan. Definitely will be giving this a shot.
@@casbinwat It just doesn't look very good. It looks pretty, but a good game? All style, no substance. Doesn't look like a world. Looks like a few symmetrical (i.e. perfectly square) rooms put together and filled with a few things to design a "level", barely any enemies anywhere, not much to interact with, and some cut scenes for those who are easily impressed. It looks to me like just another "me too!" clone with Soulsborne elements thrown in, just like Mortal Shell or Thymesia. You blink and the game is over and you didn't really do very much. I could find very little about the studio or the publisher, other than that they have little history making games other than a bunch of mobiles. If it was being made by a really good triple A studio, or even a smaller studio like Spicy Horse (Rip!) I'd be reasonably excited. If this is the path that the average video game is taking, it makes me very sad.
@@jsullivan2112 we've only seen snippets of the full thing. Cant tell for sure until it comes and and play it yourself. Theres no doubt its a little rough but they are still working on it so it may improve. Only time will tell.
This looks good. Like if resident evil and bioshock had a baby and this what was born. Looks good. Hope it actually is. After the past couple years I don’t have much faith in anything being good anymore. Elden ring being the exception.
@@theendereyes4395 even better in my book!!! Dude, what I would really love to see is that hogwarts game that’s coming out but with the magic from Elden ring and some souls like combat tossed in but in the hogwarts world. I would be so in on that. It’ll never happen but I would play it if it did.
Woooooow that said it’s coming to Xbox game pass what a win for anybody that’s trying to save money and possibly play a really good looking game I’m buying it though for sure I wanna support the devs
There has to be a discussion amongst the devs similar to "All this voice acting we have to sync lip animations for is going to be rough" ... "It's a souls like, mouth animations are unnecessary."
Another side of the legend fairy tales story teller Carlo collodi. I never get enough with any Pinocchio movies from childhood to date. Instead a new live action movie, i overjoyed with this new Era of gaming title
Se ve exelente espero que la historia sea inolvidable ,me encanta. Tiene arte subirá como la espuma de cerveza ,un verdadero juego llegó por fin no puedo esperar .
I thought this was gonna be a generic bloodborne rip off but this game looks freaking amazing. It's obviously heavily inspired but it also has its own style that I really dig. Cannot wait.
Seeing this trailer makes me think of a plot in the same, grimdark vein as American McGee's Alice with an action RPG theme similar to Dishonored. And I have to say...I like it for that. I'm interested!
The ambient is so unique, is not that much of victorian times like Bloodborne, but more of the industrial revolution wich is really, really dope and got me excited for some reason... I want to ask if all enemies are puppets/golems?
OK, this is what I understand from the trailer, the lady at the start is fairy god mother who gave life to Pinocchio, the main antagonist is the carpenter who made him. The mini bosses leading up to him will be those trial people Pinocchio encounters, for example take the disney pinocchio, the fox guy is that guy thats warring a top hat in the trailer. So here's my theory Pinocchio was that guys masterpiece so he is trying to take Pinocchio away to try and mass produce more and sell them off as weapons, but he needs the original as a blueprint so he hindered people to trackdown and take Pinocchio to him so he can make more, but hey we will just have to wait and see
I was legit convinced the MC was a woman until someone pointed out this game was about Pinocchio. I was so confused when the old man said "we finally meet, *son.* "
The gameplay graphics look much better in the trailer than in the published game. And the HUD looks different here too. I think it's better than in the final game.
Kind of an odd coincidence that Pinocchio has been getting a lot of attention lately, and being released so close to each other too… • There's that mediocre animated movie from Russia that was out earlier this year • A Disney live-action adaptation coming soon this year • A stop motion animation by Guillermo Del Toro coming out on Netflix • This game featuring a gothic steampunk spin of the tale that's coming out next year • Bonus: There's also another live action adaptation by a different studio overseas that was released in 2020. You can rent it on RU-vid. What's next?
I didnt need to read the synopsis to know this was a pinnocchio related game. All i had to look at was the boy's arm, the title says "lies" and most of the enemies are Automatons. Tho its got that mix of FF and Souls to it so I might be interested in this. I'm intrigued to know how they pull this stuff off with the whole fairy tale too.
I knew about this game last year, but now there is another one that really peaked my interest it's like THIEF meets BLOODBORNE. You play as an assassin that hides in the shadows killing whatever stands in your way. it looks like THIEF, but has BLOODBORNE gameplay style and environments at first, I thought it may be a BLOODBORNE 2 or THIEF 2, but I was wrong and I forgotten the name it.
This on paper sounds like it shouldn't work! I literally told my uncle about it and described it literally as it is. A Bloodborne style world(Victorian London meets HP Lovecraft but with Pinocchio as the playable character and creatures/characters from the book) and he looked at me like I just got done dropping acid and was having a bad trip again (don't ask lol) but this trailer looks so good I've watched it a couple times now and am really excited. Please knock it out of the park I LOVED Bloodborne simply for it's unique setting and since it looks like we're not getting a sequel anytime soon maybe this will be just as good.
