Star of screen and stage Liev Schreiber gave us an incredible treat. On the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, the veteran actor and director reads one of the great Shakespeare soliloquys, this one from the final act of the Scottish play.

I met Liev in the airport in 6th grade I called him Victor...I was so sad because I really thought he was Sabretooth lol. Him and my dad had a great laugh.

Liev was my first love. I wept so hard and so long when my young self realized he would never know who I was, let alone love me too.

His delivery has echoes of Rutger Hauer's 'Tears in the Rain' monologue from Bladerunner.

So dark, so filled with sorrow, such an incredible display of such a deep and dark emotional moment. So well done, Liev? When o when will you return to broadway so we can experience this in the flesh?! *sigh*

I’m not sure why he wasn’t put in “the tragedy of Macbeth” he’s famously done that play on Broadway for years. Coen pulled the movie off but liev could and would have made it a little better. Also could of gotten off being type cast as a brute or stoic. He can be very emotional.

Amazingly when I close my eyes and listen to the reading he sounds a lot like Jeremy Irons.
