A long overdue vlog on the biggest health challenge I've been through & am still recovering from. Also some very nice Christmas gifts, as well as future Gaming.
Good to see you looking great and back to content. No one would think you got sick how you did recently if they just see you like this. Your stories and way you speak is always so engaging.
@johncracker5217 My health challenges are most definitely tougher than a cheap steak right now. I have a growing tumor the size of a Lime in my Thyroid that needs to be removed but because my right lung has collapsed & is not functioning my breathing is not strong enough on my own to be put under while I have the surgery. On top of that the latest MRI imaging on my lungs & neck shows not only the weak lungs but a new problem more serious in my neck vertebrae that are deteriorating badly, that now require more extensive test. Just like a old car with a lot of miles on it, I'm quickly falling apart.
Good to see you back dean. You look well. I wouldn't even noticed. Excited your back I have always enjoyed watching or listening to your videos. You have a good way with words.
Hope you continue to heal and that your memory comes back. Sounds like mine when I get exceptionally tired. Got a PS5 a little over 2 years ago and a XBsX about 6 months back. Not too much of a reason for upgrading regarding new games that can’t be played on last Gen. Went on a buying spree for last Gen. Xbox games which are either “FPS boost”to 60 and/or up res’d to 4K for XBsX which are not already done in the PS4 to PS5 upgrade. Glad most of the games were in the $5-20 range now.
Thanks for your very kind comment my friend. Yes, collecting for the XB1 & PS4 is a very good idea, especially now where prices are dirt cheap, I have another 20 or so 8th gen games I need to pick up myself.
I’m very to happy to see you back here on RU-vid Dean. I’ve really missed your content. Hearing you talk about all the things that happened to you, i can’t imagine what you’ve been through. So watching you talk about games again and showing your pickups is a great thing. I’m looking forward to all you future content. Take care Dean!
So glad you’re doing better now. Hope the worst has passed and you can get back to normal and back to gaming. That aside I finally got around to playing the wolfenstien on 360 and it was crazy fun.
Thank you, Dean for your fantastic video blog. I am really happy that you are feeling better after all those very hard times and can relax with some great games sometimes. I hope this year will be good for you and your family
Glad to see you back on RU-vid with a new video Dean. You've been through more pain and suffering then any of my friends that I have. It does sound like you had one of those Near Death Experiences that I've heard from others over the years. Our lives are short and we never know when it will be our time, so me must live our lives to the fullest. I prayed for you and your wife my friend and I'm glad that the lord helped you recover and return to life. I'm so happy to see how much better you look in this video, and It's good to hear that you're healing. I'm glad that I was able to assist you with those Strategy guides and that Walking Dead Destines game for the Xbox One/Xbox Series X. I agree that I see that title becoming very expensive in the future. It's a shame that the Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles haven't been able to be modded yet, at least we can rely on the fact that the PlayStation 4 can be modded. Only time will tell if we will some day lose access to our Xbox One and Xbox Series X libraries in the future. I've thought of maybe buying a few of my favorite Xbox One titles for the PlayStation 4, but I've decided to just save that money for the last of the Xbox 360 titles that I want for my collection. I knew you would enjoy those issues of Game Informer that you missed out on, I had a big stack of doubles that have just been sitting around and they needed a good home. I hope you enjoy those first two seasons of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. That one became my favorite Star Trek Show because of the story, characters, writing and the overall darker tone that they show took on. Especially the last few seasons. It's good to hear that you've been able to do some gaming this year, I know how much you've missed it. I've been really addicted to playing Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games on my Xbox Series X, the backwards compatibility is one of my favorite features of the console. These old Original Xbox games do look amazing on the Xbox Series X. I don't blame you on not using a credit card to buy a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, it's always easy to say "oh I will just buy these consoles and a few games" It then becomes tough to say no to using the card for just "one more game". I've known way too many people over the years that have fallen into the trap of using credit cards to fund their gaming collections. I've enjoyed texting you over the last several year my friend. Have a great day bro and take care.
Thanks for being a good friend, I appreciate your continued support over the few years we've known each other. Just a shame we live so far away from each other, but that is the new reality we find ourselves in over the internet & the friendships we make worldwide. Unfortunately my brain has had a difficult time since the surgery, as I seem to have an accelerated senility. I am straining to regain memories of virtually everything now, including my favorite games & films, etc.
Glad to hear you are back, when you mentioned the procedure where they check your heart through a camera, i had that done because i had a stroke at 36 years old. Im glad you are recovering well, I always enjoy hearing your rants, the longer the better. Take care always Dean wish much happiness and good luck to you, your wife and the rest of the family.
I Hope you get well and the pain goes away. You have a great gaming channel and I enjoy all of your insight, especially on physical copies. Best wishes.
Seeing this pop up on my sub box was such a great feeling of joy! So happy you’re back up and running and your wife is feeling better from the CoVid. I had to pause a couple of times during this video because of your story of the surgery was a lot to take in. I couldn’t imagine ever going through what you did and it really puts things into perspective. It’s scary how we can be feeling fine one day and the next we can lose it all. Bless you Dean, always knew you were a bada** though. You picked up a lot of great guides in this one and those Tom Clancy games were the best during the 6th Gen and I played a ton of them. Great times! Looking forward to your next video Dean, hope you get to enjoy some relaxation and much deserved game time now.
Thanks bro, I really enjoyed your wonderful comment here & I love the heavy support. I am looking forward to more vlogs on solid gaming related topics & man, do I have some good ones planned.
Just subbed and watched the whole video , honestly one of the most most honest youtube videos ive ever watched , Really hope things get better you and your wife 👍
It's fantastic hearing from you again brother, I really miss the car community, even though I now have a Mopar truck with a Hemi. Please stay in touch. I really am pleased to hear from you & a few other genuine car guys.
Dean its good to see your video pop up in my feed again. But even more importantly its good to see in better health. You quickly became my favorite youtuber and enjoy your insight on many things. I worry about going through the same thing you did as I'm in my 40s and have had some family and friends pass away around my age. Anyways I'm glad to see you on youtube again and hope you and your wife have a much better 2024.
@vinniecorleone62 Thanks Dean means a lot. Also because of your review and love for Mad Max I finally got around to playing it this month and after about 100+ hours I completed the main game. Loved every second of it, I know at first you were annoyed at how it was broken and you had to restart many times. But minus a few bugs it was great on the XSX. I'm still playing it off and on only because I want all the cars I'm only missing 4 or 5 of the V8 cars but man scrap is high for those V8 engines. Just wanted to let you know it was because of your videos on the game I finally got around to playing it.
Hey Dean, Glad to see you back but, I'm not glad to hear about the COVID or the heart attack... We are praying for you all!!! Also, things are going bad for US Americans so please hang in there... 😢 I'm watching now and ready for some games 🎯 Congratulations on the new Job...🎉 Remember one move at a time brother... Try to make easy steps...and breathe....
My sister and Brother in Law literally bought Ivermectin the horse dewormer from a veterinarian pet supply store. This is because the doctor refused to prescribe it. It could save your life. Love you Dean
Good to see you back and hear from you, my goodness you've been through some hell and thankfully with everyone's thoughts, prayers and your sheer determination you've come out the other side, your an absolutely amazing bloke buddy wishing you all the best budd ❤
I have been a subscriber of your channel for awhile now. I really enjoyed your 60 Xbox 360 games not backwards video. Without the video I would have never bought nail'd over a year ago and it's a great game. Now MJR is recommending mad riders( a similar game)which is delisted now and Nail'd is hard to find and I'm sure people will want that game now more than ever. I appreciate your channel and your insight on games.
Delighted you enjoy the content & found some games you didn't know about. Another fantastic Quad Racing game is "Pure" on the 360, very good & "Dirt 2" also.
I realized I forgot to finish this video so it was a really nice surprise to watch the second half! Always enjoy your non bullshit, non drama, honest to goodness discussions. Once again Dean....all our positive thoughts are with you my friend. Can't wait to see your post with some good news man. Take care.
You’ve really been through a lot Dean, give yourself a pat on the back. Sometimes you like to talk about how tough a game is using the term “Tougher than a Cheap Steak.” Well today that’s YOU my friend! Really glad to see that you’re improving! Oh and nice pickups btw 👌
Blimey dude. You certainly went through hell but thankfully came back. That is one scary situation you experienced. Like many all of us here. I'm glad you pulled through. You are certainly a Very strong and determined individual to have finally pulled through this whole ordeal. It may have temporarily weakened you physically. But mentally you've definitely grown stronger. I certainly hope you won't experience anything like that again matey. For me personally I'm not the healthiest person in the world but I'm not to unhealthy either. Although I probably should start taking care of myself properly though. As Rocky balboa once said. You know you ought to count your blessings you're still a healthy person you know that. Stories like this definitely gives me a different outlook overall. In a good way of course. I hope you have a great day matey.
Thanks for a wonderful comment of empathy & encouragement, I really appreciate it my friend. I hope to grow by this ordeal. I have already been far more humble & thankful for the health, family, friends & love that I have in my life.
Grim stuff Dean. Look at it this way just a few more operations and you can be a full fledged Space Marine. Looking forward to your future videos. Take care.
With all the new Titanium I have in my back & now my chest I could be a amateur Terminator. Wonderful hearing from you Joel, I know you've had your share of medical issues like myself.
Dean, checking in to say how much your missed and I am thinking about you. I pray for Gods grace and blessing with continued healing. ❤️🩹 your fans really appreciate you and love your passion for our hobby. Stay strong, stay with us and most importantly stay offensive to the modern gaming community. Proud to be part of the traditional classic gaming community. 🙏💪
Ii can't express how much I value & appreciate your kind words of support & encouragement. Have you commented before my friend? Thanks so much, I need all the strength & love I can get right now my friend.
I'm loss for words hearing about your experience. God damn. Glad you getting back to business. In these crazy inflation times with wars everywhere we definitely need escape to gaming 😅.
Sorry to hear of your depression, I have trouble with it too as a long time Manic Depressive person. It's ok to be down, but just don't stay down. I look at life like the deep sea swells & waves of the ocean, you have constant moments of being up, then down. The trick is riding those ocean swells realizing that it's a pattern that you can ride like a surfboard.
Great to see a new video Dean, sorry to hear about the health issues, wish you and your family the best. Some really nice strategy guides you picked up, I’ve been wanting to play Darkwatch at some point, never got around to it back in the day
So glad you pulled through mate. I have 4 stents in my arteries and have to take blood thinners every single day, but they were able to insert them via microsurgey lucily. Wild West is an amazing game and one I played to completion. Dredge is also fantastic! Take care my friend
Wow, Dean, that was a harrowing story. I'm.so glad you're starting to feel better now and sounds like you're on a path to a sustainable higher quality of life. So sorry for your suffering mate. I know it's not the point of the vid but man that's some BS re ivermectin not being able to be prescribed. Theyre not allowed to prescribe it in the uk. I got mine thru the black market, never got really sick during covid but we had it for just in case.
I wasn't even aware of the controversy over that medication, my Doctor only said it was a experimental drug with positive outcomes with many people in India. It wasn't until months later I put it all together. Thanks for watching bud, I always look forward to your enlightened comments.
Glad to see you Dean! Looking good! You surgery story was giving me anxiety. Glad you and Wife are back on your feet. You growing out you hair? For some reason I've grown my hair out after my surgery too. Didn't know about that Dead To rights difficulty difference. I'll definitely play ps2 version
I've been thinking of you and praying for your health and well being for a while. I'm happy that you had surgery before something even worse happens, but I can't imagine the whole ordeal you had to go through. Stray strong...I know it's easy for me to say, but you do have friends who really care about you. I highly treasure people's private lives and need for anonymity, but I'd love to send you some stuff I have, of course if you'd love to accept it. I don't know how I can get your address, but if you are ever willing to share, I'd love to have it. All best Dean. I'm happy your health improved a lot since.
I cherish all your comments my friend, I value your friendship over the years & wish we lived closer to each other. You can email me bud... www.thompsonfineart @msn.com This way I can give you my number & address. Thanks as always brother.
Good to see you doing better. 1:12 The stuff Joe Rogan was using. 35:16 Thanks for the shout-out. Now there is a record of how to beat the game on RU-vid, no need for VHS. It's a hard one; the developer says they can beat the game with pistol only, I'd like to see that playthrough. 42:17 No, maps...
Great hearing from you bud, I really enjoyed those playthroughs you did. I highly doubt a pistol only can get through that fuckin game, BS. Yes, Rogan was crucified for simply stating he had success with it. No maps at all in that guide. I would love to know where those maps you used came from.
Fantastic to see you back Dean, I have been working a lot of overtime this year doing a major project at work so I hadn't seen that you had posted a video. I did buy Dredge recently but haven't really gotten around to spending more time with it, seems good though. Anyway over the moon to just watch/listen along while drawing or as I was earlier fixing a house appliance. All the best for the rest of your Sunday and best wishes to you and your family.
@@vinniecorleone62 I appreciate you too buddy but don't think you're running around with no obligations now! You're still going to have to make informative and entertaining videos for the younger generations! What are they going to think when all they're getting shoved in front of them is woke trash?
@@vinniecorleone62 I was being a bit silly with my comment but honestly I think a young person would learn a lot from this video you made. Most younger people I know think little about their future and have already succumbed to despair sadly. They think they have no future...so different from the attitude we had growing up.
Inflation is not political. It is corporate greed. Its even worse overseas. I am a purchasing agent. I see it every week. Most corporations are making tons of money. People need to ask for fair pay or look around for a new job.
you are welcome my friend... I knew you'd like some of those extra games and guides. you look good, I know the issues you suffered took a pretty big toll on your mental health in addition to your physical. Its good that you got a different job. hopefully it isnt as stressful but I know that the reduction in pay is stressful as it is. The last week of June Im going to be passing through Idaho on my way to Montana for a wedding. Maybe on the way back i will swing by and say hey in person.
"And I started praying the hardest I've ever prayed. I said God get me through this... I can't handle this. This is way more than I can handle. And then somehow miraculously I got through it.". I hear God calling you.
Indeed my friend, I owe everything to God with the ultimate success with the surgery & Divine help with the long recovery. Every good thing comes from our Lord & Savior.
A lot of new problems have come up since my last big heart surgery, it's a complex issue to get everything fixed but I hope to get back to normal someday. Thanks for your support my friend.
Just finished watching. Was long vid lol. You should wait for black Friday to get a new console, watch Series X be 350 by then. Got one last year and it's one hell of a console. PS5 I'm planning on getting next year as an upgrade to PS4. I too feel like these are my last consoles, they are more than enough, but next Xbox is really tempting. I see a lot of people these days worried about servers going off in the future... I don't see them going down.
Im glad to see u back 😎🎮🍻 Did u like the gta6 trailer? i think the graphics are very impressive Im currently playing f1 23 on my racing sim on ps4pro God of war Ragnarok on ps5 And call of duty cold war on ps5 I really like the graphics on ps5 And the faster ssd speeds i got an extra 2 tb samsung 980 pro in my ps5 😎
Thanks bud, I really appreciate you! Glad you are enjoying your PS5 & the games on it. I'm not into "GTA-6" sadly, as there's numerous reasons it won't be near as good as "GTA-5" & it's a always online live service game like "GTA-5 Online" my friend.
@@vinniecorleone62 I understand, 😔 I would try the game for 20 or 30 € I avoid live service games but for destiny and gran Turismo 7 i make an exception Its just there not alot of new games im really intressed in, alot is towards younger people
I hope u doin oke, i miss the video,s , but im going back and watch and like all the older video,s 😎🍻🎮 Im currently playing falout 4 on pc and ps5 and the division 1 on pc And Stellar blade on ps5
I don't know if you are aware, but on my YT Community Post I have important updates on my health, etc. I miss "Fallout 4" too, I need to get back to it soon.
Hi Dean! Happy to finally find the time to watch this informative vlog! Glad to see you're doing well and better after the surgery, as well as to hear Laura is doing better! When you were telling the story, I felt chills and pains in my stomach! I'm just really happy to see that the difficult part is over, hoping for a much more speedy recovery for you now! On the topic of gaming, I find the generation very weird. The slowness between releases, the lot of cross gen games still being produced, and now the Xbox situation. It feels like everything is changing. Next-gen, whatever that may entail, is going to be very very interesting. I haven't been playing much on my own right now, except just older titles. But enjoying going back to play what I can as I look for work. Best wishes to you and Laura! I hope to see you get back into regularly making videos soon!
It's wonderful hearing from you my good friend, thanks for sitting through a somewhat uncomfortable vlog. I appreciate your loyal support & kindness bud, Laura & I both miss visiting with you while in Southern California. The very best of luck with your new vocation search, you will have to text me what happened.
Great to see you back, Dean! I'm glad to hear that you're doing better now. You look great. What an experience you had with the surgery. Scary stuff! I'm glad you made it through it. My dad passed from a heart attack back in the Summer of 2010. He was at work when it happened and passed on the way to the hospital. It was a sad day in my life. I'm glad you made it through it and are slowly recovering. Right now in my mid 30s I'm taking care of myself as well, I don't want to go through what my dad or you went through. Great to see some new games in your collection. Some games I got to check it out. I just purchased the Spec Ops The Line since it has been delisted. I'm waiting to arrive this week. I got it for a little under $50 over at Mercari. Looking forward to playing that game.
Health scares really are scary. It just shows us how fragile health can be. It's horrible to see someone you love dearly be really sick. It seems You both have had your fair share of that the past couple of years. Waking up to 'you need a triple bypass' is something you don't want to hear but in some way it was good that it indeed you got a warning sign. Being tough being able to tolerate a lot of pain in some ways is a good thing for work or life in general but can also a bad thing - as realizing you need help might be not something that is obvious and sometimes you end up in the red zone. Too late! Good thing you did get that warning. Sorry to hear about this quite horrific experience you had getting better and have the marks to show in your body. Good to see you looking well in this video though. I hope this year will turn a corner for you both. Loosing friends and fighting for your life. I've lost a dear friend to delays in cancer diagnosis and care who was only a couple of years older than me. A dad to a son, alive and well on top of the world and now gone. I found that tough without having to go through a health scare. I can only imagine having to endure both at the same time. And that ICU stuff can be quite traumatic. You remember a lot of it all. Man that was a lot to handle. Thanks for sharing: you're still here! And I think that is a good thing. I am watching one of your videos. And that is a good thing.
Thank you Mark, I always look forward to your well read opinions, especially where you deal with the mind & people sharing the crosses they have to bare. I have always tried to learn from the painful mistakes of the past, so I can move on to the utopia promised by so many. We are all on different paths in live & we need to connect to more spiritual truths, especially in such a horrific war--torn, crime-ridden, chaotic world we find ourselves in today.
Dean, I have to say that I just finished Freedom Fighter on the Original Xbox due to your recommendation in a different video. Wow, you were spot on! What a great game and one that I would probably have never gone back to. Now onto some other recommendations! Good to hear from you!
Its so good to see you again, Dean!! Hearing your story was difficult to listen to; I can only imagine how awful the whole ordeal was but by the God's grace its awesome to see you on camera narrating your plans of games/guides to get that are on your radar. I look forward to watching your future vids and your rants, these keep me entertained and inspired in the realm of life and in gaming. My prayers to you and Laura from this side of the planet and may 2024 turn out to be a much better year for you my friend.
Hey Dean. So glad to see you back on YT man and hopefully past your health worries. You look well mate and im sorry you had to go through all of that. Wanted was such a fun game I thought. I think you will love Robocop on the PS5 when you get to it. It was a love letter to Robo fans like myself. Take care mate so glad your ok 👍
It's fantastic hearing from you my friend. Yes, "RoboCop" is a must-play licensed movie game I'm dying to play, all in good time. Good to see your channel growing mate.
Dean I am sorry to hear how tough it’s been, but I am so grateful to god your still here with us. I’m sorry that this illness has conflicted with your work, but I am just again so grateful that your still with us. I like to think I’ve been a long time viewer of your channel and I’ll say this no one speaks as honestly as you and that is rare to come by. This platform needs you man, but of course I understand the breaks since these issues complicated things. On to more brighter news, I do plan on acquiring Red Dead Redemption for PS4, I have it for switch but the framerate boost on update on PS5 means I could play it at 60fps. The good news is PS5 prices have gone down a tiny bit so it’s understandable why your waiting and it’s also smart to do that to.
So sorry to hear about your recent traumatic experiences Dean. I don’t use many other social media platforms so was unaware. Considering your ordeal you are looking remarkably well. I sympathise with the memory issue. Though no where near as serious (but serious enough) I suffered complex pneumonia over Xmas 2022 and the recovery has been tough, especially with the cognitive issues, memory etc i still experience to this day. It’s quite scary! Good to see you back, one of my favourite channels and have watched and been inspired through your content for a long time now. Stay well and stay safe, hopefully you are able to get back to enjoying your games and we get to see you a bit more as you recover. All the best from sunny UK 🙂
Thanks mate, I appreciate your wonderful supportive sentiment & good will it is greatly appreciated. My memory is very poor & quite concerning. I just try & do the best I can, one day at a time.
I’m really glad to see you doing better. It’s a reminder to everyone to try to take good cate of yourself but also to really enjoy the time you have with the people and doing the things you love every day. I’ve been dealing with some of my own health issues lately. Not nearly as serious as you had.. but my family and hobbies are what keeps you going. Again, I hope for the best for you in the future now that you have made it through your extremely difficult time.
Hello Dean. I am so glad to see you again. I have really missed you on your You Tube Channel. So sorry you have had such a terrible time with your health. I look forward very much to your future videos and wish you the very best of health my friend!!! Lots of love from Kieran and Jo, in the UK.🥰💪🤝
Looking good bro! Glad you’re doing so much better now! definitely enjoy the long videos, makes the drive to work better. Great pick ups & gifts bro. I hope you and the Fam stay blessed & healthy. Keep the videos coming bro.
I am settling in at my desk this morning to work on some reports while watching. Really glad to see you back and you look great. I hope that you and your wife continue to improve healthwise. Stay well my friend. So glad to see you back.
So glad to see you back Dean your presence has been missed. I'm really sorry that you had to go through all the health problems you've been going through. It's good to know your doing better now.
@@vinniecorleone62 the whole thing is bittersweet because it's heartbreaking to hear your painful story but beautiful to hear you tell them to us. Glad to hear you had a lot of support to get through things and looking forward to if you get back to more content.
Awesome to see you back at it Brother health problems are so scary plus all the stressful other things that life gives us your story is very inspiring God bless Brother kind of BS about your old employer letting you go but nice to hear your enjoying your new one back working with cars I recently have been replaying forza horizon on my old 360 when I get some time 😎👍
