Only issue I have, is that I don’t want to sleep and forget about God like stated here. I literally get so excited to be with my creator (consciously). I have seen His hand in my life over the years through my military service and injury, and recovery (almost didn’t make it by my own weak mind, if you know what I mean). I just can’t wait to see Him. 🤓
Thankfully, if you are a true believer, then you will not have to sleep and be apart from the Father. Jesus went through the separation for believers on the cross. Once we follow Jesus we are given eternal life (John 3:36). How can you have access to the Father while in sinful flesh on earth and be able to approach His throne in prayer anytime you want, but once your physical body dies be denied that access? Your access to the Father is not based on your physical body and flesh, but on the finished work of Christ. Your flesh decaying cannot stop your access to the Father (2 Corinthians 5:8). Do not believe this lie and have your joy stolen.

How does one explain the two apostles seeing Jesus with Moses ? How does one explain the rich man wanting a drop of water and warn his brothers about the terrible place he was in ?
(Updated to correct my false understanding of scripture and doctrine, if you are feeling confused please look into the Orthodox Church) First of all Jesus clearly states, no one has seen the father and no one has ascended to heaven, (this is true, no one ascended to heaven before Christ died on the cross, but when he descended to Hades he took those trapped there who accepted the Gospel to heaven when he resurrected) the appearance of Elijah and Moses on the mountain was a VISION (this is also true), Matthew 17:9, as stated by Jesus himself. The parable of Lazurus and the ritch man was just that, a parable, it was a parable about earthly wealth and was not to be taken LITTERALLY, (this isnt accurate, it isnt meant to be taken litterally but it is a depiction of what comes about after death, a foreshadow of judgment day) spoken along with other parables not meant to be taken litterally. How could heaven be paradise if we have to watch unsaved loved ones burn in Hell for eternity (the protestant conception of Hell is of course false, its not God who tortures the wicked, its their own dispoaition toward God whom they will be in the presence of afrer the resurrection) Think logically and read CONTEXT (really you need to look to the early church and the apostolic tradition to understand scripture, Christ enlightened the apostles to understand the scriptures and he continued to guide the church after them into all truth) I understand the desire to hold onto this doctrine, it is comforting, but if it was TRUE why wouldn't it be the main message of the apostles instead of the resurrection (because the resurrection IS the goal, and they do mention going to be with Christ after death as does Christ) or why wouldn't they, at the very least, explicitly say something about it at LEAST once (they do)?! I mean wouldn't us going to heaven directly after death be something that would comfort those churches and believers being persecuted and killed (of course but it pales in comparison to the glory of the resurrection)? Why wouldn't Paul say something along the lines of "fear not brothers, for we go not to the dust, but to eternal life IN HEAVEN WITH CHRIST after death, I will see you there!" (He actually does say things somewhat like this) I mean seriously, after ALL the scripture quoted in this video and you are still clinging to these two passages that can only, if ANYTHING, give the vague inference that believers MIGHT go to heaven after death, but can just as easily be explained as I did so above (people interpret scripture based on their precocieved ideas, thats never what the scriptures were intended for), reconciling them with THE REST of scripture (thank God i finally have been able to do this and i dont have to twist and turn any totry tomale them fit anymore). I apologize if I was a little harsh in this comment, but this doctrine of 'heaven after death' is man-made (its not, its just not the ultimate goal for believers, the resurrection is) and, just as the Pharisees traditions, nullifies the word of God, (that's of course true) for NOW believers look forward to this idea of heaven after death, (as did the apostles but still greater we look forward to the ultimate fulfillment of Gods kingdom: the resurrection) instead of the TRUE promise of God and Christ, which is the Resurrection! Mary DeTray Not harsh at all , not taken as such . The dead know nothing , have always believed that . If Elijah was taken to heaven in body form then sometime he must return to die and he has . When I was in my younger years went from church to church found none that could answer questions. Most said I was not in the spirit and trying to spread confusion but I would only ask the pastor in private. So I haven’t been in many years . Just interesting to see all the opinions out there . Went back and read about the apostles and Jesus did say the vision and will have to agree the rich man was a parable so the Lord said even if one was raised from the dead they would not believe. Thanks for reminding me about the apostles seeing Messiah with Moses Elijah. Also, in Revelation we see martyred saints under the Altar in Heaven. They are aware of what is going on there and what is going on down here on earth. Nothing in the passage says a thing about them ever having been in a soul sleep, much less that they popped out of a soul sleep, into Heaven, and then back into soul sleep again. I like the near death - and real, lengthy, death - stories of people revived where there is a lot of medical documentation showing the people were really dead. You might enjoy seeing Dean Braxton's vids. On a CBN vid - and they checked out his story for 6 months with medical records and medical personnel - you can see his ER doctor saying "He was really, really dead." For 1 3/4 hours! Yet now he is normal. He gives great descriptions of Heaven in his vids and in his book In Heaven and backs those up with Scriptures. When Braxton talked to CBN about the doctor, they told him that the doctor started crying when recounting the story of what happened in the ER.
I once had an operation and the first thing I remembered after falling asleep was waking up in my bed but I did not remember anything that happened during the operation.
Several counterpoints: 1. In John 8:56, Jesus said "Abraham rejoiced to see my day." 2. In 2 Cor 5:8, Paul said "...to be absent from the body, and to be present with the LORD." 3. In Luke 16: 19-31, Jesus talked about Abraham, the rich man, and Lazarus in terms of consciousness while in the state of death. 4. Ephesians 4:8-10 implies that Jesus emptied Abraham's bosom of dead believers. 5. Revelation 6:9-11 speaks of the souls under the altar are crying out for God to avenge their blood. All five scriptures speak of conscious dead believers!
We were all dead spiritually at one time. Ephesians 2:1 "You were dead..." We were still conscious and consciousness doesn't come from flesh or God would be unconscious since He is Spirit. Therefore, spirits are ALWAYS conscious.

1 Enoch tells us there are 3 chambers inside the earth that hold the spirits of men. 1 for the righteous. 1 for the wicked and 1 for the martyrs. Evidently only the martyrs have a voice to Yahuah. Even Ables innocent blood cried out from the ground.

In this parable, Jesus uses the preconceived ideas of the Pharisees regarding life after death, in order to present them an important message.
I know it's hard to believe that you were lied to but you were even churches can lie to people. You cannot take one passage out of the Bible like the rich man and Lazarus and refute all the other passengers that are found in this study that say the dead don't go anywhere doing a fact Jesus even told Nicodemus you must be born again you must be born of the spirit he was not referring to being filled with the Holy Spirit he was referring to dying and being brought back to life with a spiritual body. @119Ministries I had a dream a year or 2 ago where I was in the tribulation. I was in line to be beheaded along with the rest of the faithful believers. In this dream, after I was beheaded I was brought to a peaceful place. I don't think it was quite heaven but it seemed like a middle. It was just total peace. I didn't know where I was exactly, but then a woman who seemed to be of perfect health and not aged at all appeared before me. She was glowing very very bright. She told me that her name was Claire and that she knew my grandmother, Lynn. I perceived that they had a grandmother/daughter relationship. She told me she wanted me to tell my grandmother that she was doing well in heaven. That morning I texted my grandmother asking if she knew anyone by the name of Claire. She said she only knew one person. This person was not her. I asked her if she knew anyone who had died named Claire. She then told me that was her grandmother. She had actually been thinking about her grandmother recently, and wasn't totally certain about if she went to heaven or not. To be clear I had never heard anything about her grandmother in my life, but I cannot deny that the name I was given was correct. What is your take on this then? If there is no heaven and no consciousness before the resurrection on the renewed earth, how then did this happen?

The fact that the bible doesn't speak of believers going to heaven is a tough pill for most to swallow, esspecially after a lifetime of indoctrination into the idea, I get that, but at the same time, I don't understand why more believers don't seriously question this false doctrine, I myself always wondered "what's the big deal about a resurrection if we already are free of pain and suffering, in the presence of our Lord and God AND loved ones in heaven, why would we even WANT a resurrection, let alone preach that (as they do throughout the new testament) over going to heaven upon death? Also, how do seminary schools justify this doctrine?
When reading 1 Cor. 5:1 and John 14:2 and compare with Rev. 21, what is the use of a new heaven AND NEW EARTH, when all "children of Abraham" are going to heaven to be with YHWH for eternity.
Also how do you reconcile Matthew 27:50-54? 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. 51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. 54 When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son[ of God!”

Can you please address or give us your thoughts on the missing fragment of 2 Esdras (Ch 7, verses 75-101 specifically) that was recovered and then published in 1895, providing detail on an interim "7 days" in which the spirit, as it returns to God and before "resting", is shown "7 orders" and what's to come regarding either their 1) impending glory, or 2) judgment, at the resurrection? Might this explain so many "near-death" experiences in which both believers and unbelievers report seeing the same initial "light" before returning to the body? My access to my Heavenly Father is only through Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord. My access to my Heavenly Father has absolutely nothing to do with my sinful flesh. How is it that my access to my Heavenly Father that I enjoy now in my sinful flesh will be removed when my sinful flesh is in decay? This sinful flesh being removed will be gain for me. Losing access to my Father would never be gain.

..just as 119 ministries endeavored to point out the correct understanding of 1Th4:14, we must understand when Paul was exclaming to the Thessalonians "we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Messiah" should be understood that he and believers of his day would not precede those currently asleep. The dead in Christ shall indeed rise first, THEN Paul and those who were then still alive (dieing later) would be caught together with those he mentions in verse 15. The 'Then' of verse 17 needs to be understood as 'afterward' or 'next'. We can see the same word in Ga1:18 showing 3 years later, and Ga2:1 showing 14 years later. Ja4:14 shows an indefinite time later. We must keep in mind that it is appointed for all men to die once! If those "that are alive and remain" did 'not' die, our Messiah would not have the preeminence die him as firstfruits. 119 ministries needs to consider this biblical truth and harmonize every scripture.
I have a question, where did Yeshua go the moment He lost His breath at the cross? Those 3 days...was He unconscious? No physical body? No emotions? He did nothing in 3 days? If Sheol, bottomless pit, Tartarus, Hades, Abraham's Bosom, Lake of Fire were just symbolism or metaphor or parable...the fallen angels that was chain in Genesis was also a symbolism, metaphor or parable too? On what context in the Scriptures do you determine which is parable/symbolism/metaphor or which is literally?
Yes, Messiah said that no one had entered into Heaven. But that was before HIs atoning death and resurrection. After His resurrection, there were saints also resurrected, going around being seen by many in Israel. He told the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with me in Paradise." That fits right in with "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Check out Dean Braxton's vids on RU-vid. He is extremely well documented to have been dead for 1 3/4 hours. No heartbeat. No respiration. CBN investigated his story for 6 months from medical records and personnel, before airing his story. In their vid you can see his emergency care doctor saying "He was really, really dead....It is a miracle, a miracle... that he has no brain damage" and is normal in every way. Because he had no oxygen for so long, his toes had turned black and the doctors were planning to snip them off, after he came back to life. But, there, too, he was returned to normal. The toes, though, show how dead he was. Braxton tells of what happened when he went to Heaven in his vids and book, In Heaven. He backs it all up with Scriptures. For example he saw animals in Heaven and they talked. In Revelation we see Messiah coming on a horse with followers on their horses. Also, there we see an eagle flying through Heaven and making a verbal pronouncement. He said everything in Heaven is alive, even the atmosphere there. He backs that up with a Scripture talking of how the 7 thunders, atmospheric entities, spoke. In Revelation we see martyred saints in Heaven under the altar asking when their deaths will be avenged. They are not asleep. They are cognizant not only of what is going on in Heaven but of what is going on down here on earth. This can be "explained away" by thus and thus which is not in the Scriptures. Nowhere does Revelation say they were in a soul sleep, then popped out of it into Heaven and then went back into soul sleep again. Pretty silly. Also, there is no hint that the saints are "symbolic" as some claim with no Biblical verse support. Also, Messiah's parables are seen to be such. Sometimes He said a story was a parable, or he would say "It is like...." In the story of the beggar Lazarus we see a conversation between Lazarus after he died and his rich neighbor who also died. Nothing in that story even hints that it is a parable. Further, the apostles saw Moses and Elijah talking with Messiah. Psalm 119 is generally the best Scripture source on the net, probably in the world. Here they missed it big time. Braxton is no way the only person to have died and experienced Heaven. I know there are fake out there, fakes galore. But when people have medical documentation that they were dead, and past reviving by all medical standards, I listen to what they have to say if it agrees with Scriptures. If anyone wants to argue about this sorry I do not. I already did under the first vid in the series. Please just take it up with the Lord. It is not a salvation issue.
Why does Yeshua tell the good thief that he would be WITH HIM in paradise THAT VERY DAY? Like 23:43? Would Yeshua not know better than David, Job, or Solomon, as great as they were? Now disputing, but need to know how to answer that question in lite of all this info. Good teaching, just need to reconcile the words of God versus the understanding of what we think God means at the human level.
I appreciate this attempt to explain your view on what happens after death. However, it feels like you start with your conclusion and fit everything into that box called SOUL SLEEP. Any verses that go against it? Ignore them. Could it be that we are 3 parts and not 2? If we are formed in the image of the Triune God, Father-Son-Spirit, could it be that we also are Body-Soul-Spirit? At death, the body returns to dust, the spirit returns to God, and the soul is taken to Hades or Paradise and is conscious, as Jesus tells us. If anyone in the Bible would know this mystery, it would be Jesus.
According to scripture, we are soul temples. The parable where a man has an evil spirit and is able to send it out but is then inhabited by 7 more spirits is one example of this. And of course, Paul makes plain that believers in Yeshua are Temples of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Christ. He indwells us. A person can be spiritually alive to evil or to righteousness, apparently. The words translated in English as soul and spirit when referring to a person are the same Word. This is the foundation that has been laid. That foundation (OT/ Torah) is not clear on hell. Even the parable of the rich man and Lazarus in the gospels does not fit traditional presentations of afterlife: there is a place called Abraham's Bosom with a gulf fixed across which people can see into hell. This sort of language coincides with the final verses of Isaiah. Yeshua was apparently quoting from that portion when describing hell. But hell is not 'eternal' as described in the book of the Revelation because there we are told that it is cast into the Lake of Fire along with death. The afterlife is one of the least clear subjects in scripture. We have to rely on inference by drawing conclusions on scattered crumbs and auxiliary information about Yah's purpose and character. The idea of hellfire was certainly abused by Roman Catholicism around the time of Martin Luther to convince the people to buy indulgences to get family members released. Our final understanding will have to incorporate all of the texts mentioned in this video as well as any others that you are thinking about. The Bible will not contradict itself. It is consistent and Rock solid.
So the reality is... When we die and our spirit goes back to God and our bodies return to dust, then the soul disappears, because the only reason we even have a soul is because of God's Spirit (Breathe) coming together with dust?
Pursuing Righteousness, we do not have a soul, we are a living soul with the breath of life given by Our Heavenly Father. When we die, our breath goes back to Him and our physical bodies turn back to dust. At the resurrection, we will be raised again. Blessings to you. Shalom.

If unbelievers are to be resurrected, then this can only be a physical resurrection. If it were a spiritual resurrection as well, then they will have been "born again" and able to enter the Kingdom (John 3:3). Since they are not "born again"/resurrected spiritually the spirit is still in the same state it was in during their life and at their death. It has not changed. It was conscious in life, conscious in death, and conscious in resurrection. The resurrection will just fit it with a new body fit for it's eternal punishment (Mark 9:47-48).
The scriptures in Revelation 14:9-11 seem to suggest that the suffering and torment of the wicked is forever. What is your answer to that. Also Revelation 20: 10, 14-15
You might notice that in the account of the Transfiguration that Moses and Elijah "appeared"--in Greek, optomai. It doesn't say they came or stood or anything other than a visual manifestation. They appeared in glory. They, of course, were symbols for the Torah and the Prophets. We also see that it says that Peter didn't know what he was saying when he was talking about building three booths. Well, build a booth for a vision? Yahshua more than obviously entered a realm of the eternal right there and was affirmed by a manifestation of the Torah and Prophets that these guys he had brought with him would understand--possibly ironically to make sure they taught without deviation the very Torah that "Christians" deny.

I guess my question would be if there is no literal eternal burning hell, then what happens to demonic entities and Ha'Satan, the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim? They are obviously physically and spiritually different from man right? You are wrong we are conscious during death you looking at prophets but there is one called Jesus and this is not what he teaches us about the rich man and Lazarus
According to Jesus, the one who would know a lot more than us on the subject Mark 9:48 47 If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. In the earthly grave we are eaten by worms and once our bodies are fully eaten the worms have no more food and the worms die. The resurrected bodies of unbelievers are made to endure eternal punishment and the bodies will never be consumed and the worms will always have food. For the fire to not be quenched it must have fuel eternally. The fuel is the bodies of the unbelievers.

The only way to have this view of God's wrath on sinners is to have a lesser view of Jesus and the offense of sin to an eternal God and a higher view of sinful humans. That is the cause of many who follow this organization's teaching leaving Jesus altogether. The focus on paganism in Christianity causes them to question their beliefs. Then the focus on law begins to shift their focus off of Christ and onto themselves. Teachings like this cause them to view the cross as not that big of a deal. Soon they believe they have a checklist to follow and don't need the Savior. It is an evil cycle you can see far too often. I pray that is not happening to you as you view these teachings. I deserve an eternity in torment for my sins way more than Jesus deserved the torment He endured for them. Thank you Jesus! Praise Jesus! Wretched man am I. I am totally undeserving of His love and mercy. Saying Jesus only did enough to save me from nonexistence is close to trampling on the blood of Christ. If those who die are raised to face the wrath of God, then once that wrath begins it cannot end until it reaches the wrath that God put His own Son through or else God has changed. That wrath, however, will never be matched. I pray that this teaching were true and that the cup of God's wrath would pass from my loved ones, even so Father, not my will but yours be done.
Answer me this ONE question, if we go to heaven when we die, what need have we of the resurrection brother? Why was going to heaven after death NOT preached plainly so all would understand JUST as the resurrection was? These are some SERIOUSE questions you need to ask yourself. This 'heaven after death' doctrine actually does the opposite of what your saying, it makes the promise of God, the resurrection, of little effect, you nullify the promises and WORK of Christ through this man-made doctrine!

Revelation 21:1-3 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, What is the point of an unbelievers resurrection if they are resurrected to not exist?

The whole point of resurrection for the unbelievers is to hear their judgment, makes perfect sense if we are completely unaware of anything after death, you tell ME what sense it makes if they're already in Hell after they die! Just as believers are not in the final heaven until they receive a body fit for the new heavens and new earth. Where does it say that we are going to be disembodied spirits in either heaven or Hell untill the day of the first and second resurrection? And if non-believers are immediately judged worthy of Hell upon death WHY is there a second judgment? I believe in the resurrection, so stop quoting me passages about the resurrection and stat quoting me passages about this period of time we spend in heaven and they spend in Hell BEFORE the resurrection, upon death! There are not two Hells, in fact, there is NO Hell, there is only the pit of fire and the abyss, the pit is for the false prophet, the beast and his army, and those not found in the book of life (and ultimately the Dragon or Satan as well) the abyss is a prison where Satan (the dragon) will be bound for 1000 years after the first resurrection (the resurrection of believers, those who have died in christ) and the millennial reign of Christ. After the 1000 years the rest of the dead, and all who died during the mellenial reign (those who lived through the tribulation yet were not found fit for new immortal bodies and so lived mortal lives during the millennial reign) will be resurrected and judged by their deeds, if they're not found in the book of life they'll be thrown into the lake of fire and they die the final death and are NO MORE, they don't suffer eternal torment for they are not immortal, only those made immortal can suffer eternal torment. "The wages of sin is DEATH" NOT eternal torment for human beings. So, do tell how these verses make any sense if these people are actually alive souls in either heaven or hell: - Rev. 20:4-5 "they came to life and reigned with Christ for 1000 years. The rest of the dead did not come to life untill the end of the 1000 years." After the 1000 years: - Rev. 20:13 & 15 " and the sea gave up the dead that were in it and death and Hades (euphemism for "the grave") gave up the dead which were in them. And they were judged every one of them according to thier deeds." "And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life he was thrown into the pit of fire" So answer me THIS: if all believers go to heaven when they die, then the resurrection happens and they ALL get new bodies and reign on earth with Christ for 1000 years where did the people who come to life in the second resurrection who WERE found in the book of life go to when THEY died, DoD they go to heaven TOO to wait for the second resurrection, when Christ is on EARTH?! Also, you STILL have yet to answer my question, where in the bible does it say believers go to heaven when they die?
