@@1ntsaismuagvang763 When i first started searching miao videos in 2020 after seeing in google that hmong are miao but i had no knowledge what miao was so i did some researching. I noticed right away these ladys pale faces and deep smiles most would remind me of my mother just with less silver. Its believeable that the viet and manchu scraped all our goods during the century before and arriving to vietnam with the lack of human rights in southeast asia its believable.

@@AsianAmericanGuy Well, long story short, Hmong is just among one of those who migrated out of China after 1840 the Opium War looking for a living as life in China was deteriorating year by year. Hmong is not alone, there're almost 40 milllion Han Chinese in South East Asia, And there're the Iu Mien\Lahu\Akha\Lisu. They all migrated out during the same period(1840s~1940s) There're reasons to it. 1st, China had to pay debt as compensation of wars to the west, people suffered 2nd, After potato and corn were introduced, the population growed rapidly, there's no more land anymore in China to feed the population. 3rd, After the Opium war many Chinese farmers turned to grow opium which was more lucrative and this led to a lack of crops and food shortage. 4th, the Qing government lost power grip in rural China, rural China became semi-anarchy, gangsters and robbers were prevalent. 5th there're rebels and uprises here and there, people can't just live in peace anymore. 6th, there're still plenty of lands with no owners in South East Asia.

Just reading the comments is hilarious, you have two groups here, those that are living mostly out side China, looks like US majority that called themselves Hmong and the Chinese that called themselves Miao ethnicity. As Eva explained in her response to comments the historical differences, I think it’s better to get educated and to learn before everyone started to argue and debate what to call themselves ethnically.

@blejl0
@blejl0 3 года назад
@@thatnengguy It seems you are serious on this issue. Nowadays, almost nobody considers “Miao” as “hating disrespecting”, maybe it has some hidden meaning referring to barbaric in ancient time or hundreds yes ago. (Is that bad?, considering if that means sheepish) Miao ethnic group is many Chinese favorite minority group, especially Han Chinese from southern part of China. Why Miao people in China selected “Miao” as their identity name? The main reason is historically: Miao and Han have coexist several thousands years, which not only unique in China, also in the world. I believe Miao people were well aware of this and cherished this. Actually, “Miao” sounds like meo, but it does not have any thing to do with cat, which is “Mao” in Chinese, even that is not a bad terminology, know great Chairman Mao?
