I was born into it and spent 37 years as one. Married, had three beautiful daughters, but the elders didn’t like me working out, owning a gym, being an athlete, so they gave a public shaming/marking talk about me putting fitness ahead of Jehovah in front of the entire congregation and my study was in attendance with us that night as well. You’re right that bullying, disgusting behaviour is not for me. When we left the organization, my parents and siblings as well as my husbands disowned us and our three daughters. Who were never even baptized. We were never Disfellowshipped but everyone treated us as if we were. So no I don’t respect that type of behaviour and it’s prevalent in the JW organization.

So actually Jehovah’s witnesses might identify as Christian but most Christians don’t recognize as so because they believe in works based salvation and a lot of other things other Christians don’t believe. And yes, we do need works so our faith won’t be dead but works aren’t what save us in the end. Although works are good and we should definitely do them to show Christ’ love for others, it is by grace through faith we are saved. Not through judgment by works. Christianity is the only religion that isn’t worked based in order to find favor or get love. It’s a religion that feels more like a relationship. And great job on reading your Bible for that long. Surely if you study it that long, you know it’s not a lie. Not all religion is indoctrination, I’m sorry if your church made you feel that. But Jesus truly really does love you 💖
@Tcuppig That's not true about them, only believing in works. I know this because I attended their services for about 5 years and they believe you must have both. Not just works. Why?? Because the Bible says you have to have both. Not one or the other. You can do all the good things in the world like, give you time to charity, donate all your money to a good cause, help old women cross the street, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, but none of that means your going to get into the narrow gates and cramped road. You have to have faith as well, and they believe that because they taught me that. Now I am no longer associated with them and, in fact, I'm not associated with any religion because I don't believe in religion or organizations or doctrines because they are all ful of lies and deceptions. God is a person. He is spirit. He is too holy for a broken world so he came and dwelled with us in a holy place, the true temple, as Jesus. Jesus is the son of Mary, who the holy spirit come upon. They did agree in the past there have been predictions by the Watchtower Society that did not come true, but I should look at what these JWs are saying and judge it on its own merits. Then I used their own doctrine and said “since they made false prophecies, the Watchtower Society must be false and of the devil”. They got real agitated and tried to make me feel like I was the one going to hell/hades without saying the word hell. Then they immediately left. Sadly JWs are victims being deceived by the Watchtower tract society. There are some good books that explain how Watchtower manipulates their members and how some of their ridiculous doctrine is simply attempts to cover their false prophecies. For example Jesus did return in 1914 but was invisible, and why only 144,000 go to heaven and all had to be alive in 1914.
