Amazing work as always, can't thank these people enough - allowing people to live through incidents like this and share more precious time with their family.

They do an amazing job. I was sent by helicopter from one hospital to another by helicopter when bleeding in pregnancy. Everything ended up ok with our 3rd daughter. My darling husband was transferred between hospitals after a massive heart attack. He survived & only recently died 14 years later from asbestos on his lungs..

As someone who works in acute care, I can tell you, the minute you hear quad bike accident. The following question is, “ did it land on him/her?”. In my experience it’s always been 50/50 and what I mean is, no it didn’t, have a nice day day, never seen you in hospital or it’s crashed almost ever bone in your body. Secondly how I see quad bike, is flipped over, but no helmet. Poor buggers spend the rest of the days licking glass. In my career I’ve seen way many more quad bike accidents than motorbike. I can only deduce this, because of helmet and leather as standard, it works in reducing the need for acute medical care, in my 12 years I’ve yet to hear, bike landed on top on him. It’s usually not the weight that’s the problem, but the speed and G force it hits you at. Something at 200kgs travelling at 50 miles per hour, can be 1.2tones in G force on your tiny rib cage. I do get the odd question quad or motorbike, would ride bikes all day long. But I always say this, you know the risks, quad bikes, motorbike, peddle bike accept the consequences, we do what we can, with the resources we got. Your not Lego that fell on the floor and have to piece together, your a human that might have your life turned upside down. Lastly emergency workers and health care staff come with a hard shell, life’s shit we get that, but if your alive, may your recovery continue well, deal with your own psychological issues at home, I’m not trained to deal with those issues nor do I have the time, usually have another 16 patients that have road traffic accidents, fallen off roofs, got a kicking on a night out. And for those of you who are well nursing this and it should be that, holding hands. A little reminder, nursing is like communism, what you hear is the theory, the practice is very different.
