I watched the official music video for Honkai Star Rail's "WHITE NIGHT" for the very first time as a new player and firmly believe my life changed. Nothing was ever the same after experiencing this - I am changed as a person and NOT okay.

I WAS A FORMER BLIND HATER OF HONKAI MYSELF AS GOOD AS THE DESIGNS AND PRESENTATION ARE THE ACTUAL GAMEPLAY, CHARACTER, WRITING AND STORY IS REALLY GOOD ESPECIALLY POST 2.0 IT IS PEAK.

I highly recommend checking out the honkai impact 3rd chronicles, animated shorts and some of homulab's vids explaining some things such as project stigma before penacony. There are multiple references for it in penacony (shaoji's a HI3rd writer after all) and u could get a bit confused at welt's monologue. The rest would just be small nods. The story is peak regardless, but knowing about the stuff and tge details really enhances the experience.

@@vidianott Its a bit of a rabbithole, since Honkai lore is actually pretty extensive. For the homulabs videos, u mainly wanna check out "The Entire History of the Honkai Universe", "Everything You Need to Know About WELT YANG" and "Understanding Project Stigma". The last one specifically before penacony and the others sorta whenever. The animated shorts are always recommended, they are specifically the payoffs in HI3rd which imo adds some much needed emotional weight to the references in penacony + theres a specific reference for a couple of them. And the chronicles are an explanation to specific characters and arcs. They are really long, so take ur time.

Welp when you get to 2.0 - 2.2 be prepared for roughly a 25 hours worth of story missions where 18-20 of those is nothing but dialouge and cutscenes 2.1 and 2.2 are really bad on that point with. 2.1 took me 7,5 hours to get through only an hour of that was gameplay. Now 2.0 - 2.2 has the best story in the entire game no question there but it comes at a cost

Ahh, the best stories are the ones that I wish take forever to end so I'm looking forward to having a good chunk of content to immerse myself in when I get there! I've loved even going through side quests since the writing in this game is sooo good! 😍
