Cool. Nice kid. The bills thing I don't trust machines to not skip bills so I'd rather one by one. There would not be proof unless they get camera security or listen to you if they even do. You never know. Not in these covid times. Things have gotten worse. Lots of confusion in this world & much uncertainty. I take it just a fun video. The bills counter hesitated a sec.
I did that once and it took two $10 bills at the same time. I was there an hour while they had to take the damn thing apart, count all the money and balance everything out. Never do this
When that happens a bill recycler error will occur and the manager has to open the machine and get the bill out manually, also not all walmart self checkouts have these
one iota , especially a scummy store like Walmart that has no respect for its customers not just its employees . I always ALWAYS have to DOUBLE-CHECK my RECEIPT before leaving because they are SNEAKY COMPANY that usually has a way to CHARGE YOU MORE for things that were ON SALE but then the sale price ISN'T there at the register and also there have been times I've actually had to have someone nearby go back and check something to prove to them that the price was $2.25 and they're trying to charge me $8 for example ... and so buying two or three of these adding up to $24 when you thought you spent under 7 can sometimes really be infuriating . A bunch of the Walmarts are closing and would GREAT if the one closest to me would ALSO CLOSE to be replaced by a BETTER supermarket company .
Not to mention you’re costing the store a ton of money for a service call & repair bill to fix a senseless paper jam. Jams happen all the time because of this. If I was the manager at this particular store I’d make that kid delete this video lol
... This is why we use self ck out....to get in/out quickly....I agree with the kid in the clip.... And if a machines are malfunctioning they should be fixed or made to do just what he is showing. And I did not even know u could put coins in self ck out at stores....Boy, thanks for the clip...💛u....Akti
I worked at Walmart. One thing for sure is that the self checkout machines were specifically designed to give you the bills back if they’re too close or stuck. It’ll count the rest of the bills that we’re able to be taken one by one.
@@JCsongwriter1 yep that's joke here you should copyright it I'm not kidding $80 online through the Library of Congress in fact you can copy write a whole book of jokes for the same price for $80 or a whole book of lyrics or poetry or novel for only $80 online and you should do it so that if anybody steals your material they still have to pay you
As someone who works there, I can say that not everyone is ‘qualified’ to stop you from doing that. Just fucking book it and not many people can stop you.
I work on these machines. I’m actually employed as a technician, and not one of the attendants. These were retrofitted with the flap because of the coin jams that happened when coins were dumped down the chute (along with all the other crap in your pockets!). Same with the note validator. It’s supposed to be able to accept up to 20 notes, but only perfect ones. If they’ve been circulating for more than a few days, good luck! And don’t dare feed BRAND NEW ones in! They’ll stick together every time and cause a jam. So yeah, keep doing all that and I’ll keep running calls for Walmart to clear a stupid jam that takes a machine out of service for 2 days.
Why are you complaining???? If you are telling the truth then thats what your job is. Maybe you're just lazy and want to sit around and collect a paycheck???
@@f.newton1211 as a technician I prefer to fix actual broken shit. As a comparison, it’d be like an automobile mechanic fixing a non running car by putting gas in the tank, or a plumber fixing a toilet by flushing it. Clearing coin jams are a daily part of operations that aren’t warranty repairs. Every time I clear a jam that doesn’t require me to break out a screwdriver, I bill for an unnecessary service call. Also, it takes me away from actual repairs that do require a technician, and that’s Not beneficial for my customers (the retailers) or their customers (you). Believe this… there’s a shortage of people with the skill and experience to do my job. Pre covid, I happily put in 60-70 hours per week. I worked (and got OT) 7 days a week, and I love doing what I do. But yeah… I’m super lazy. lol
I isn't helpful you still have to wait for the computer to count each coin. At the Walmart I go to, with the last computer update,it is incredibly slow
@@frickpoo6644 no , it's NOT ... people need to start looking at the channels that tell you WHICH COINS are worth $$$ because you could have a nickel worth $1,000 , a quarter worth $500 , one PENNY worth $1 million ... ... not kidding ... you need to start saving your change and make the time to watch the vids and GO THROUGH ALL YOUR CHANGE ... it's incredible !
Actually they aren’t legally required to check your receipt so just nod your head and say thank you with your receipt up. I’ve done it many times with no issue and if they cause issue by forcing you to show your receipt you can easily sue them for infringing your rights. 👍
@@franky8450 Normally I just smile and tell them to "have a nice day". The last time some old guy actually grabbed me by the arm. He almost got punched! He was like 70! Rather not go to Walmart.
Haven't shopped at Walmart in almost 30 years. Do not like their politics, their strong arm tactics ordering overseas merchandise, or the way they treat their employees. They never have well trained, eager to help employees. IMHO, Walmart is a horrible place to spend my hard earned money.
As someone who works at Walmart, most of the those machines can't do more than 1 bill at a time. If you want to wait 15 minutes for someone to come and open the machine for your money, go ahead and try it, otherwise just go one at a time. But yeah, the coin thing works.
I was literally going to vent something exactly to this .Everytime I go to wallfart, put a bill in the slot without fail every single time it will spot at least two of the currency bills back out at me no less then 3 to times... Frickin tiny little folds in the corner or something stupid.. I could oy imagine putting several in at a time. Spit only part of it back out at yea but not the correct amount. Bill slot Jams up just after it eats the dollars but hasn't swallowed it all yet n machine hasn't read or counted amount yet, gets sick on stupid and freezes up, now waiting on one of the 20 employees standing around holding the floor down haveing a laughing gossip party 10 feet away and but paying any attention. I literally had 4 workers standing behind me doing absolutely nothing but chatting n giggling up up haveing a happy oh time couldn't get a works in edge wise for then to find the damn machine that suddenly decided on the middle of scanning my stuff and employee was required to log in.. we the hell that was supposed to mean.... Smh. Walmarts gone to shit in this town. Idk about anywhere else.
EXACTLY! My local Walmart's don't take cash anymore at any self checkout CARDS only and it's been this way since after the pandemic started! Doesn't bother me though, cause I rarely carry cash, I use my card more then anything, but I still find it inconvenient for other people, especially when Walmart only has 1 or 2 registers open at a time, no matter how packed it is!
Be careful with the coins thing. I know why they put that “cover” on it. Before the cover was put there, I was able to dump my coins in it. Unfortunately, it kept jamming because I had like 25+ pennies. The cover is there to slow you down, so you don’t jam the thing and take even longer to finish, and also not to bother the employees with more issues than they already have to deal with.
Do not put your coins in like that, if even a little piece of lint or paper from your pocket gets stuck in there it could cause it to throw a code, aka, redlight
I used to work at Walmart and the only thing worse that money issues at self check out was having to go unjam items like bb's earrings and other debris from the coinstar.
I gotta give it to Walmart on their self checkout machines. They are by far the best in my area. The rest of them talk too much and demand the item be on the bagging area or you have to press “skip bagging”! I just want to checkout and be gone not suffer a forced interaction with a talkative demanding machine!
Dont do that. I've worked multiple retail locations all using self checkouts, and the biggest problem they all have is paper jams. Last thing you want is to wait 20 minutes for a manager to finish what they are doing and come help. And believe me, they don't drop what they are doing to come help, they tell us its gonna be a minute over the phone.
Do they even let anyone pay cash at self checkout anymore? The ones by my house pretty much discriminate against cash. Self checkout is empty but you'll have to spend 15 minutes in line at a cashier if you're using cash
@@derp195 well unless you and everyone else starts using cash to buy other shit it will get to the stage where you wont be able to get cash to buy drugs. The more they push people towards using their card to pay for shit the more they are phasing out cash.
@@Char-marie86 dealers moving with the times and accepting revolut 😂😂😂 when they get caught then all the cops have to do is check all their recieved transfers to bust the whole ring 😂
But that takes all the fun out of it! When I was a kid, I saw the whole "using and receiving" coins thing as cool and fascinating cause we rarely used it.
Self checkouts will be the only thing needed at Walmart in like 10 years. It’s already goin on where I live. No one works at the register hardly ever unless it’s busy enough. Which is like a holiday and that’s it
I kind of like self checkout, unlike with cashiers, with self checkout, no one is gonna stare you down or get mad at you when having have to transfer money over to your checking account. You can also do multiple transactions like if you wanted to charge half of your groceries on one card and half on another.
@@MicrowaveBakedPotato yeah introverts dream I feel you. But it’s totally just putting the work on customers bagging everything and even scanning it all. It’s not a lot of work and I’m definitely not complaining. But it’s totally weird if you think about it.
As a Walmart employee you should also listen the team leads when they tell you to stop customers from doing this because it causes jams and makes the computer go into cards only mode
That’s why you shuffle through your cash under the camera at self checkout so that it shows exactly how much you put in the machine when you add all the cash at once.
I put the money right in front of my face, before depositing it, because I have tried waving it, shuffling it, and nothing, so now I just put it right in between my eyebrows, since clearly the camera is showing me that it's capturing my face.
...and I was thinking we all had cell phones with cameras. Too...if they have to keep taking the machine apart, they'll eventually replace them with _working_ feeders and then you've caused a new, better normal.
How about charging Les for groceries since I’m working for you and doing your job. Instead of suddenly charging more for absolutely everything while reducing the amount of workers available
They already are. Walmarts profit margin on groceries is only about 3%. Tgey also have volume buying power qhich makes food cheeper for everyone. All yiu Einsteins whk think you are so smart why dont you build a business that employs over a million people and has a system to get durable goids and groceries no matter if you live in a big city or a rural farm town.
Hell I cannot even get ANYONE to help me with anything at walmart ESPECIALLY NEIGHBORHOOD WALMARTS! The one here in Hoover AL is the absolute worst. It’s filthy. Just a few years back, it was clean and so full of helpful people. Now they can’t even find ppl who will WORK. And the few that do work there are tied up with curbside orders!
customers staring at you like “ is this dumbass on drugs , how can u not work a self check out ? “ bruh i swear when my social anxiety kicks in i be doin the dumbest shit . i’m over here scanning items and not putting them in the bag haha .
Lmao I find it funny cause my local Walmart ( walmart's) don't take cash anymore at the self checkouts since the pandemic started CARD'S only!! It's ridiculous!!!!
I went to a Walmart that didn't accept cash So i walked around got my groceries, opened the donuts ate a couple, drank a little soda, opened a few chips Got to the register went to pay with cash, they said we don't yake cash. I said either take my cash or take back the opened items, the manager came rang up my purchase and accepted my cash with no problem.... OH THEY CAN TAKE CASH IF THEY WANT TO!!!
@@davisvalerie7180 yea I know at the main registers they can but not at the self checkouts! I said the self check outs at my local Walmart (walmart's) do not take cash only cards! The regular check out isle takes both! Now before the pandemic we were able to use cash at the self checkouts, now they have signs at every self check out CARDS ONLY! To me it's inconvenient for people that carry cash! Not everyone carries or uses a card! My local Walmarts only has one or two isles opened at a time, along with the self check outs, it's always been like this, and the people that carry and use cash have to wait in line longer, then check themselves out!
@@mandiebonez666 Good. Those uf us that use cards like a non crazy person have to wait behind all you slow cash users otherwise or God forbid some oldy with a check. I'm glad your stupidity inconveniences you.
@@mattakadanja What's crazy to me is now they usually have more than double the people they ever had when they used more cashiers - they're just now blocking every isle pretending to stock shelves
In Norway, using cash is like saying I’m a drug dealer 😂 people give you the dirtiest look unless you’re a child. Most stores here only take card these days.
My trust in those machines vanishes when i needed an assistant 3 times casually scanning groceries and it kept telling me im scanning wrong. Never been so angry in my life
