We need a "love" button, Ariel! In my opinion Ariel, you have made some absolutely wonderful decisions and in so doing are able to live such a full and rich life! I am excited for you! Congratulations and darned well done!
If only we were sisters 👯♀️ I would love living with or near you. From keeping up with you and your lifestyle I can tell that you are quiet enough to make life much nicer than anybody else that I now know and certainly would choose to spend most of my time with. When I dream that’s where I go even though it could never be. Many happy years to come and be careful. PpRN
Good for you Ariel, you seem to totally have your act together. My wife and I have the same views as you about debt etc. We had a modest house built on property that I purchased when I was just out of school. The property was paid for and we paid off the home loan in about 17 years of a 30 year loan by setting goals and being sensible about our life style and purchases. It doesn't matter what others say about your decisions, you know what's best for you and I feel you made excellent choices based on your wants and needs. I think about folks who pay huge amounts for fancy new vehicles which are a terrible investment and quite unnecessary in my view. Like you, my 12 year old truck works great and does everything I need it to do, and I payed cash for it as a used vehicle. I take good care of it and expect many more years of use from it. Again, good for you for what you've done and the direction your going, I'm impressed! :)
We are currently talking with the people at Tumbleweed . I’m so glad I started watching this video because you are the first person I know that had the tiny built by them ! We are super excited to start on this new journey . We currently own a town house in Aurora , Co but we want to go tiny so that we don’t spend our life working to pay bills and our high mortgage monthly payment ! We want a simple life . I’m so glad I found your channel !!
Best wishes with your plans! I am totally happy with the way mine was built. My personal experience, including customization and customer service with Tumbleweed, during the build and after as well, was really phenomenally above and beyond most companies. Though to be fair, I can't speak to the current company that goes by that name at all. All my experience was almost 7 years ago at this point. And I do know the company has changed a lot. I think almost all the employees are different, the builders are an entirely different crew, and it's grown and changed a lot. I know they do not any longer even offer via their website a design, material, and finishes like I have. And so I can't say I know anything about the current state of the company.
Fy Nyth Thank you ! What’s been challenging is finding a place to park it . We won’t even start the process u til we know where we can park it . So far RV parks are out if the question . Most don’t allow a tiny in it 🤷🏻♀️ Im frustrated and feel like giving up but I won’t ! Lol
I absolutely love your spirit, common sense and direction. You are very successful in your life in my opinion: you're happy in what you do. Keep it up, and please keep posting. Thanks. Fred.
Great job! Quality of life should be a priority. I love to hear that you are finding ways to do that. Kudos on paying it down so fast. You are well on your way. :)
I love the logical and practical way you think and present the facts!!! You have done well and are a great example to others. I did a similar thing on my manufactured home.......30 yr loan but I paid it off in 3 years. So nice to have that burden over! Excellent video
It sounds as though things are just as you want them to be right now. It was good to hear your reasons as to how and why! It is wonderful that this works so well for you. You made it go right!
I'm, flat out , blown away buy your intellect, maturity, and outlook are a blessing! I'm a 60 year old brain injury survivor and am in the market for better ways to live! Good tip with tumbleweed tiny homes! thank you!
Having been on disability insurance for ten years finding two nickels to rub together is tough, but my outlook on the money front should improve soon. No male member for my family has ever lived to be 70, so I better get too it!!
I really enjoy people with strong mind set. It requires dedication to live your life without the need for loans, unless of course it is absolutely necessary. I hope you remain in good health and that you enjoy your tiny home :-)
Excellent explanation and reasoning for why you decided to go the tiny house route. I was one of those people that could not understand why anyone would do it. But now I see that it was a great decision for you. You explained it very well. Ignore those who will post negative comments, as I am sure you will. We are new subscribers to your channel and feel you are one of the most level headed creators that we have found. You are right up there with Boss of the Swamp in our estimation. You and he think very much alike!!
You truly inspire me. It has always been my dream to live in the mountains in a small cabin, and while doing some research, I came upon your RU-vid channel. I love what you are doing, and hope that one day to be living the same peaceful lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
You are absolutely my role model on what I want to work towards living like. I want to live off-grid, sustainability. You're videos on the subject are invaluable to me.
Ariel - you have a very good sense of reality. Debt is a killer! I wish I would have had a "tiny house" option when I was your age. Mortgages and house payments have taken the majority of my income for years. Stay strong and save. You look like you are way ahead young lady... kudo's to you.
Congratulations, your resourcefulness and clear thinking are a spark of hope for our otherwise hopeless "modern" Western society. It seems like most people today have forgotten how to take care of themselves and expect to be spoon fed by the government taxing their neighbors to death. Videos like yours are awesome stories to hear. All the best from Canada! P.S. Be careful of those bears, moose and other potentially dangerous creatures you got out there. There seems to be no rifle strapped to your back in your hiking pictures; better have it and not need it than need it and not have it, as a wise saying goes. Political convictions come in last when SHTF. Peace! :)
Thank you, I always hope to inspire others. I carry bear spray, not a gun while hiking, just because of the weight. But there is one handy at my house. I'm working on a video on tiny house safety and security right now.
Love your tiny house...Love where you live...Love your attitude to life, your determination and hard work. I honestly believe you will achieve whatever you want in life. My very best wishes to you for the future from London.
I loved you video of the outside during winter. I can see the struggle with all that snow. Now that I have seen the pics of the views in the summer....it makes all that snow worth it. That is an incredible area.
Wow! Fabulous video. I think 90k all in paid off in 3 years is a fantastic investment and very wise for having the lifestyle you want and living in such a beautiful place. Very well done. I love how tiny homes can get people out of the rent trap and allow young people to own their own homes. You are inspiring countless people to dream of creative home ownership when they may never have thought it possible before. God Bless.
So glad to have found this! We have so much in common especially with zero credit. My husband and I would always buy used cars with money instead of paying car notes until we kept having car problems and we finally bought a car with a note attached which will help build our credit. I am interested in getting a tiny house for my family of four. We unintentionally rented a tiny house because we were in desperate need of a place to stay. At the time we didn't know about the tiny house movement. During our stay in the tiny house we were ready to go because it was so little space and we had too much stuff. That was three years ago. I have discovered minimalism and the joy of living with less. And our dream is to be debt free so I hope to follow your footsteps even if it requires us to get a loan. Thanks so much for sharing this. I have hopes that my family and I will become tiny house owners after all. xx
I can't believe how fast you were able to pay off your tiny house loan! That's amazing. I thought paying off $18,000 of school loans in 3 years was good. I'm in the work-real-hard phase too right now to pay off my school loan and save enough to build a tiny house in 2 years time ($25,000). Ironically I live in a seasonal tourist destination too with very high home prices (we're talking $140,000 for a seasonal 500 sq ft cabin on 1.2 acres and dilapidated farmhouses for $350,000 with nothing really in between, and those are the CHEAP ones!) I love the idea of work trade for a little parking space. Keep up the great work!
Nice work to you too! And wow. I guess there are a lot of expensive areas. Even if it was just an outhouse here though, if it came with 1.2 acres it would be worth well over a million. :)
Thank you for making this video. It answered so many questions, and it is very inspiring. We too, love the northwestern Wyoming area, but you're right...long, brutal winters. Keep up the great work. Your videos provide excellent content.
Fy, you are so blessed. If only I were younger, but I have two great granddaughters, one in her teens and one in her early twenties. I hope they would agree, this is the way to go if you have the opportunity. Your pictures of the wildlife are breathtaking. I can understand your wanting to live there. It's God's country. Good luck forever.
I agree with Ariel. I’m close to 50 with a grown son and a 6 year old grandson and I find myself starting fresh. I love the outdoors and spend most of my time in the forest camping and hiking etc. My goal is to have a little piece of dirt with a small home and maybe a workshop/garage. My son has been showing me shipping containers and what you can do with them. I have the skills, tools, and time to do the building myself. With a little help from my son it should work out nicely. God bless Cheers mates and happy trails
Way to go, Ariel. Awesome job paying down your loan. It's never a mistake to buy as opposed to rent. Kudos to you for all that you have accomplished, Ariel. I know you will do very well as you go forward. I am rooting for you, young lady.
Really cool story! It's a huge achievement to have no debt and a house paid off at your young age. Well done. I'm also very impressed that you have a wonderful relationship with your sister. It's commendable that your sister and yourself were able to sort out financial matters together.
I recently came upon your videos, of you living in such a remote and very cold climate. I must say that I do watch You Tube video's a lot. I live in TN. where the weather and temps. are No where as extreme as in Wyoming. I am a 65 year old man who is still working and fairly fit for my age but when I happened upon your videos, I could not believe what all you have had to endure, just to make it from year to year in such a harsh and unforgiving climate. I start crying when the temps. get down to 32 deg. at night here. I want to praise you for your determination and drive to keep making it from day to day in conditions that I would not want to ever have to go thru. You are truly my hero and even with you moving to a bit warmer climate soon, you are very Brave, an Athlete, in great shape and my New found Woman, that has more drive in your little finger, than I and most people have in there whole bodies. It may be lonely where you are at in your life and that is what got you going on RU-vid but you have been a Blessing and Inspired me to try a little bit harder, to keep going on with my life with a better purpose. Thank You
the video and sound is better in this format.staying away from the window and glare of the snow made this very enjoyable. i could focus on the content and story.love the sound of your fire place in the background
Good to see someone who thinks the way you do, i know so many people your age who are in debt up to their eyeballs and have no clue how to get out of it, i rid myself of all credit cards many years ago and have a motto "if i can't pay cash for it i can't afford it"
I'm a first timer here! Very impressed with what you've done at such a young age. I realize this is an older video, but I came here from your latest one, and it seems like you have reached the goals you set out in this video. KUDOS!
Yeah, this reminds me of when I showed up to a bank, a few years ago, all proud of the fact that I never had to borrow a single cent in my life before...assuming that made me their dream customer. Self sufficient, through most of your 20s? Of course we're gonna trust you to pay this loan back. Any amount you want, here it is. Nope. They want people who buy into the system, and have a long history of working diligently on the thankless task of paying 5% a year interest on money they already spent. I guess they just rely on a simplistic formula, and they don't let the actual employee you're talking to make any decisions.
Living your life according to your values and within your means is admirable and there is nothing more rewarding in my opinion. Being happy with what you have and grateful for it is virtuous. I am with you on working at jobs you don't like for people you like even less. If you haven't already, look into aquaponics, it may be something that interests you. Thanks for sharing!
Ariel, I have been seeing most of your video and every time I see one I feel motivated to follow those great ideas that you are presenting here. I think that tiny houses will be something that a lot of people will be considering in the near future. Congratulations.
I understand where you are coming from, I bought my tiny house almost a year ago. It will be a year on April 28th. You are doing a fantastic job of getting your tiny house paid for. I paid cash for mine and I bought mine from the same company as you. However, I paid a few dollars more than you did. When everything was said and done, I paid right at 97k for mine. I have a 26 foot Farallon and I just love it. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
Ariel you made the right choice you not only bought a tiny home you bought a way of life that will be with you to the end. a lot people do not see this they focus on the miner details. we are all faced with the same problem in life and that is the mountain in front of use called buying a home you have worked through this problem is short order with great success. I see you now own land this is very important to have dirt that you own and no one can make you move. put your head down and bull your way thorough it and when you get to your land lock your heels in and do not let anyone move you. you have bought yourself a get out of house hell jail card. good luck.
Thank you for being so open with your situation. Although it is not our business to know your justification, you shared information which is extremely helpful.
I think you made brilliant decisions in obtaining your new home, and I admire you soooo much!!!! You know what you want for yourself, and you went for it!!!! I am so impressed by your lifestyle!!!!!
I love what you're doing and admire you so much for your grit and determination. I enjoy your videos! At my age I don't think I can do what you're doing but you give plenty of motivation and allow for anyone to see this is very doable and enjoyable. The simplistic life involves hard work but it seems so much more satisfying to be self sufficient ☺
It is great that you share so many details with us, thank you. You were in quite the predicament, and got a wonderful home out of the deal custom tailored to you. Yes there may be cheaper options, but like you say that may take years of planning and gathering materials or doing a lot of the work yourself, which you couldn't do at the time. So glad it's all working out!
awesome! awesome! awesome! You should be very proud! You're very fortunate to have the tiny house movement as an option! Which means it was obviously meant to be. 😉 I wish you every happiness!
Congratulations on being absolutely amazing ! There is so much pressure from society to buy what you want (not need) and go into debt. You are going against the grain. It is working out so well for you and it is not an easy road with so much societal pressure. Its interesting to note that by not getting a newspaper (sales flyers) not watching tv (commercials) limited internet (ads) that you are both saving money by doing so AND avoiding much of the pressure to live a commercially motivated life. Well done. Cheers!
Loved the video. I am a tiny house lover and interested in off grid living. You shared so many points I am sure people who are thinking about making this decision would enjoy. Good luck and God bless.
Great fireside chat. You have done amazingly well to have paid off so much of your loan in such a short time. Perhaps in a few years, your current land-owner might be persuaded to sell you the land you sit on... Congratulations on your achievements. :o)
I just recently discovered your videos. They are great....I love your style and your Photos are awesome! also great job paying off that loan!!!! thats truly amazing.
You are seriously an inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing and being totally transparent 🙂 Much respect for you for being so real keep up the great work 💪🏼
I think you really did a good job on purchasing a brand new tiny home, I would do exactly like you did. Not everyone is handy as others and not everyone likes to dig in a pile of rubbish to salvage some used materials. Congratulations you did very well, I’m a new subscriber and enjoying your videos.
This is on my bucket list. I love your video. I know this is doable for me. And I need to drop my smart phone. I pay $280 a month for 3 phone lines. That is so stupid. Keep on being an inspiration. I found you on a tiny home website yesterday. So happy I did. Thanks!
Welcome! No affiliation other than it's the company I have had my phone service through for years now, but you might check out www.redpocket.com . Having an old dumb phone, I don't care about the phone data, so I go with the $19 a month plan which gives me unlimited text and talk.
Wow! You are awesome Ariel. Very smart! You are very near the financial freedom many work their entire lives to have but never come close. Not being enslaved with huge loans give you the power to really be free. Based on the speed you've been paying down your loan you'll have it paid off in no time flat and then can build a nice nest egg for savings and emergency supplies and then be more selective with what work you want to take on. Your folks did a great job of raising you and very cool your sister helped you out.
