Every time I see a new video from ALE you've raised the quality of the production a few notches. This one, very good. The editing great, its tight but it flows. The drone shots appropriate . The smooth following camera. The audio is perfect, no wind, no level changes. I am looking forward to seeing how you do it when the retreat is finished in October. I'd buy the property pero soy porbrecito gringo pensionado. But I am a poor pensioner from up north. Ciao

Whoa! Beautiful but I find properties there very expensive! We sold our 20 acre land, **not 9 acre**, 2 bedroom, one bath, 1400 square feet, off grid with best solar system, a deep well, with septic tank, organic land with plenty of wooded and green area around in secluded, peaceful part of Canada for $300,000, and very recently. Why would a property in a poor country such as Ecuador go for **American dollars** in this price?? That’s the question.

Maybe it's called . . . . profiteering ? But admittedly, it has nice facilities, even if water looks about as plentiful as igloos in the Sahara.

Thanks for sharing your perspective! Real estate markets here in Southern Ecuador are similar to those in any area of the world and are subject to supply and demand dynamics. Southern Ecuador has many attributes that people find valuable including clean air, quality soil and pristine water. Of particular difference to Canada is the year round climate. We don’t have winter here like you do there. Southern Ecuador offers year round growing seasons, minimal if any need for indoor heating/cooling and in our opinion, offers the best year round climate on the planet! Hope that helps!

I understand the weather in Ecuador but 1) It’s not a country that a foreigner can find a job in. It’s a poor country 2) The housing market in Canada is off the chart but that’s not the case in Ecuador 3) There is no reliable house insurance in Ecuador. So, if something happens the homeowner is screwed 3) People can’t sell their homes fast enough in Ecuador. So, you can be stuck with the lemon you bought… basically, no one can compare the housing market based on weather. I think westerners have found their way in a poor country to make lots of money and that’s the only reason because no Ecuadorian can afford a $300 K house in their own land.

simple answer...you are going thru a realtor. They sell as the market allows. That's the way it works. Want to save $150K ? Learn Spanish, fly south, then buy and build.

Curious if you’ve ever been to Ecuador @Curios? Your perception might be challenged if you came to visit. Who do you think owns most of the properties you see for sale? Primarily Ecuadorians. The Vilcabamba/Malacatos area is full of local Ecuadorian’s second/weekend homes. Yes, I said second homes! There are many misconceptions about Ecuador and you seem to be parroting many of them. We’d be happy to answer any other questions you have to help you gather a more informed understanding. Thanks for watching!
