Invited by an incredible bunch of locals, we dive deep into Kurdish culture, hospitality, landscapes, and cuisine. Our unlikely adventure kicks off with a vibrant Kurdish wedding, where we dance to Kurdish music and immerse ourselves in the joyous celebration of life that seems to be the nature of Iranian Kurds.
This very special episode captures the essence of the lifestyle of the people of Saqqez and the wonderful time we had with our new friends, highlighting the beauty and warmth of Iranian Kurdistan. Join us as we spend an unforgettable week in Iranian Kurdistan!
Saqqez is the hometown of Mahsa Jina Amini.
We take you with us on a bicycle journey around the world and show it how we see it. We hope to inspire more people to go on great adventure themselves or if they can't, to get a sense of ours.

Well, it doesn't make a massive difference. The upside of BMAC is the membership system especially for monthly support. They take a small fee to cover transaction costs, which is fair enough (between 5 and 10% depending on the sum). However, in your case, Paypal is a great option, as it doesn't involve a fee. Both platforms pay out to us in Euro, meaning they do the conversion. We can also receive direct bank transfers through our international bank account with WISE. This would financially be the best, as we then have only one conversion (e.g. from Australian Dollar to Vietnamese Dong, instead of the extra step because of the Euro). However, this is a lot of information, so it is probably best for everyone able to help to choose what's best for them 😉

Thanks Paul. Yes it does a tremendous difference! Ads for travel related content pay very little in general and the vast majority of our viewers watch from low income countries. However, there is some light on the end of the tunnel. The numbers are picking up right now as our Iran videos get a lot more attention. Should that trend continue we might get to a point where we don't spend more money than we make in return, at least in combination with what we get from BuyMeACoffee.

Kindness, sincerity and hospitality are one of the main foundations of the rich Iranian culture, especially towards strangers. Iran is the oldest country with the most rooted culture on this planet, which is unfortunately unknown to many people in the world. You will find the differences there when you travel even to the closest countries to Iran. For example, Turkish or Arabs people's culture in dealing with strangers are completely different from Iranian people's. An ancient civilization and a pure culture with warm-hearted people who are always open to strangers.

Seeing lots of ignorant comments on Kurdish identity without any respect to historical & anthropological facts.. (most likely from Iraqi/Turkish Kurds or perhaps some misinformed Iranian Kurds in the mix) Lets clear some facts up: Iran is a diverse country with many aboriginal ethnicities . Kurds & Kurdish culture is part of the greater "Iranic" identity so they're inherently Iranian (you can search this up).. Kurds are decendents of Medes, one of the 3 powerful houses that ruled ancient Iran/Persia : Persians & Medes & Parthians with respect to Scythian/Sarmatians who were also Iranic . Cyrus the great himself was half Mede half Persian so the ancestor of the Kurds, was the founder of Persian Empire. Everything about Kurds is Iranian. Kurdish flag is pretty much Iranian flag, (especially similar to pahlavi era with Solar deity). Kurdish language is derivation of Farsi, an Indo-European language. Kurds celebrate Nowruz, a Persian/iranian/kurdish new year. Many Iranians today have Kurdish blood without even knowing due to the vastness and oldness of the region whether you like it or not Kurds belong to Iran as much as Iran belongs to the Kurds. Many Kurds in Iran already know this this was evident in the nation wide protests that broke out as many Kurds gathered and shouted "from Kurdistan to Balouchestan, I give my life for Iran". The whole Iran protested the killing of Mahsa Amini, A kurdish Iranian girl. However I do understand why some Kurds might feel to distance themselves from the motherland as the Islamic Republic has been very oppressive & harsh towards them. But this doesn't change the reality or the facts.

It seemed to us that the majority of the Kurdish people in Iran did not take an issue with being part of Iran, much unlike Kurds in Turkey.

Really great episode... Please don't get your hopes up about making a little money from RU-vid. This is impossible for bike tour videos. There are not enough viewers and demand in the world for such videos. This is a relatively very limited field, unfortunately. The only way to slightly increase the income is through the support of the viewers. There is no other way. In my estimation, there is not a single RU-vidr, touring bike rider, who manages to make even a little living from it. It's not realistic. Besides that, your videos are great. Really unusual. As someone who has been riding for 24 years abroad for 3-4 months every year (about 7 years in total), and has already seen a lot of places in the world, I really enjoy the videos. And since I am from Israel, and cannot travel in Iran for the known reasons, this video is very interesting me. By the way, the relations between Israel and the Kurds all over the Middle East, including of course in Iran, have been excellent for at least 60 years..... We share the same enemies... And Israel support them in many ways.... N.B. You create very unique and authentic original content. In my opinion, there is a great potential here to sell your raw material to one of the TV channels in Germany. In that case, you are completely financially settled for a long time.

Yes, you're probably right with your assessment. It is, unfortunately, a tiny niche we create content for. Actually, the contributions from our viewers really help. We never expected to be able to make a living from it, as in living a normal life. We have plans for after this journey that include traditional means of earning a proper income. However, we still hope that we will be able to finish our minimal goal to reach Korea and cover it all before we run out of money. Granted, as amateurs, we severely underestimated how much time, energy, and resources creating our kind of content takes us. Even if we only look at the costs directly related our videos, we could have easily travelled at least a year longer on the savings we had. Anyways, we'll do it as long as possible. Sharing this experience and getting feedback on it is still wonderful! Not sure if a German channel would have any interest in our raw material, mainly because we speak English, but we might try to do something with it eventually. We were thinking of creating a movie at the end ourselves, but working with professionals is probably the better way. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The relations are not "excellent" per se, it's just that Israel lends support to anything that it envisions would weaken it's foes but there's no true loyalty in their actions. Israel has many enemies and constantly makes more it seems. By supporting the Baku government in its aggression against Armenians they've managed to add yet another to the list.

Assyrians need to let go of the ancient Assyrian empire. It’s not the case anymore and never will be again. That’s just reality. We Kurds also could try to claim all the lands captured by Ayyubids, but that would be a ridiculous claim. Even during the time of Sayfo that you are so quick to mention every time, Assyrians were a minority within Kurdistan. You need to stop blaming Kurds for all your problems because your future is with Kurds, no other group.
@yarsaz4347
@yarsaz4347 3 месяца назад
@@Spinosaurus44 How about you let the people from each area decide for themselves. It seems like you've done a lot of speaking for Iranian Kurds when you're not one yourself. The massacre of Christian Assyrians by the hands of Turkish allied treasonous Kurds is a historical fact and it's only logical no Assyrian would agree to their land being called "Kurdistan"
@Spinosaurus44
@Spinosaurus44 3 месяца назад
@@yarsaz4347 first of all there is no Iranian Kurd. Any Kurd from Kurdistan is a Kurd and we’re all brothers. We share the same history. And second, it’s not Assyrian land. Assyria is in the Nineveh plains and some parts of North Kurdistan could be historically considered Assyria I guess, but there is no part of East Kurdistan that is Assyrian in any way. And you want to talk about treason? The Assyrians were going behind the Kurds’ back trying to establish a country for themselves with the help of Europeans in Kurdish land. Kurds had every right to prevent that. Besides what do you care about Assyrians? You’re just here trolling and bashing on Kurds for being this and that, and hurling accusations. What have Kurds ever done to you? دایکتمان بە کەر گاوە؟ ئاومان لە قوزی خوشکێ هێناوە؟ یان نەنکتمان بردوە بۆ حەمام؟ 😂

The people we met in that region seemed to identify as Iranian Kurds. In any case, we generally take not part in nationalistic struggles. While we hope for every person to enjoy personal freedoms, there are many examples in the world where different ethnicities live together in peace and harmony. However, that is absolutely not the topic of the video. We showcase the beauty of those people. Their nationality does not matter in that regard.

kurds are iranian just search it up. you're clueless historically.. Kurds were medes. Cyrus the great was half mede half persian. Kurd is Iranic identity part of greater Iran. Kurdish flag resembeles Iranian flag, especially pahlavi era. Kurdish language is derivation of Farsi, an indo-european language. And finally. Kurds belong to Iran and Iran belongs to kurds.

We do not take part in these kinds of arguments, as we do not see how that would help the people affected. The official name of the province of Iran is Kurdistan and it really doesn't matter if we like that or not. It is in neither the subject of the video, nor did we get the impression that this was a major concern of anyone whom we met there.

@@AmazingWorldBikeTour it would help the people affected if you didn’t appease to the assimilation of a group of people just because the stake is high, Turks, Persians and Arabs scare you now imagine how your false reporting affects minorities when they are the ones occupied, the people you’ve met can’t say everything they’re bound by the law but you are not, while reporting something the least you could do is be mindful of the issues those people are facing, as you can see it’s not just fun cultural clothes Kurds face racism and prejudice, if being against their occupation makes you uncomfortable I don’t know where your morals lie.

Nobody we spoke to suggested that they felt occupied. Many had issues with the government, but that is not the same. Maybe you should also consider that we would actually put people's life's at risk if we even remotely suggest that they might have said such things. Whatever your intentions are, attacking us (which is what Turkish and Iranian nationalists do about the same video) is not helping your cause. We make Kurdish culture visible at its best. You should try to do the same.
