So, you speak Yoruba fluently, Bayo???? Wow! May God bless your mother for raising a true African. I Knew of a particular Nigerian woman in the US who’s so engrossed with American lifestyle that she detests her own Yoruba heritage. She once said she’s thankful that we were colonized, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to speak English!!! Can you imagine such a ridiculous mindset? Wow, you are making me to miss Naija o. See the natural Yoruba beauty of the waitress; no plastic nails, no toxic paints on the face; no bleaching of the skin. Chai , Omo! You guys are killing it!!!! Enjoy!!! I am home sick right now!!!

"To control a people, you must first control what they think about themselves and how they regard their history and culture. When a conqueror makes you feel ashamed of your culture and history, they do not need prison walls or chains to hold you captive." - John Henrik Clarke - This is regarding the woman you spoke of above and a lot of others like her.

I love everything about this place even especially the fact that it's small/intimate. I love the cultural pride and genuine hospitality. The clothing, wooden cups and bowls, the banana leaf wrappers, and art and history on the walls. We have strayed too far from all of these things and it has dealt with us severely. Every thing about this restaurant helps build the local economy. I only wish maybe it was built using modern mud and plaster techniques to let it breathe

Looking at those menu with it price tag compare to U.S here, you can see that food is really cheap compared to U.S. Such a large menu of foods with a lot of meat not even up to 1$. Spending dollars in African restaurants is like eating free food

@FERESE
@FERESE 3 месяца назад
Ghana needs the population and investment. Nigeria is overcrowded. Again, the experience of some AA in Ghana is not very pleasant. There are videos on social media with many expressing their grief. Some of them are relocating to Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.

@Afro_Conservative_Strikes_Back
@Afro_Conservative_Strikes_Back 3 месяца назад
@FERESE Nigeria isn't overcrowded just Lagos. We only need better city planning (all of the continent does). Also people are leaving the places you mentioned as well. It's just a matter of preference and many government aren't being smart to attract diaspora with that kind of money through policy. Nor do they think of the impact of migration of a large number of people on the average local
@Afro_Conservative_Strikes_Back

I know there at least two that I've seen on yt. There was a family of three that relocate from The Gambia (originally from uk). And other family (of maybe 5 plus) from the us. Also a brother Afrothinktank youtube.com/@afrothinktank42?si=eAjsI4Wl9GewZ94x is somewhere in Edo state I believe and he comes and goes and does business (I think mostly agriculture). I know he at least had a ginger farm and provisions shop. I believe he's also invested in the Caribbean
