I thought the video was going to be about losing Willow, then it was about saying goodbye to Samantha, then the ending came and was so touching. Especially that video of Samantha and Willow chasing each other. Our pets are family. We brought our cat over to Portugal with us and just lost her in May to cancer. It was great she helped us transition, but so hard to lose her.

@@Tourabunga Mine was a 9 year old Boerboel. He had cancer. It spread rapidly, and two different vets confirmed that there was nothing more we could do, except to medicate him for the pain. After about a month the meds were already doing nothing... He could barely move and they said he probably wouldn't last another month. To euthanize him was the humane thing to do (I could see how he was suffering more and more each day) but that afternoon at the vet... staying with him throughout... it was easily one of the worst days of my life. It brings tears to my eyes even now just thinking about it... The next weeks were tough, but because I have a decent size property and need to have a guard dog I had to think about getting another one, which I ended up doing not long after. If I didn't need a guard god I would have waited a little longer, but I'm glad I didn't... you don't forget the previous one, the good and the bad (the end) but a puppy is always a spark of joy and love and certainly helps you move on with life... This is my new 8 month Cane Corso: i.imgur.com/valWvFP.jpg I can only imagine how hard it must have been to put this video together, even after many months, but perhaps the fact you were able to do it means your okay and perhaps also ready to get another one... It can add a lot to your life without taking anything away from what Willow meant to you guys... All the best! ❤
Alexandra, [ @alexandra2339 ], Your story about your Boerboel truly touched my heart, and it brought back the raw emotions of our own experience with Willow. Over the course of a year, Willow developed a tumor on her spleen. We were devastated to learn that surgery wasn't an option for her. The week leading up to Christmas, our vet warned us that the tumor could rupture at any moment, giving her only a few days at best. The most heart-wrenching part was that, outwardly, Willow looked so vibrant and full of life, as if she could live for many more years. The day we had to say goodbye was one of the most painful moments of our lives. I remember how she always used to be nervous at the vet, pacing around with her leash in her mouth. But that day, she was eerily calm. As tears streamed down our faces, she lay peacefully on the table, almost as if she knew and wanted to comfort us in her own way. It took me nine months to gather the strength to edit the video. Every time I tried, the pain was just too much. But I felt the need to close that chapter, to share our story, and to begin the healing process. Willow's ashes now rest in a pine box on our fireplace mantel. It's a new experience for us, having the ashes of a loved one so close. We've thought about spreading her ashes in the mountains or by the beach, places she loved, but we're just not ready yet. Your new Cane Corso is beautiful, and I'm glad you found a spark of joy amidst the pain. While we're still navigating our grief, your words and understanding have been a source of comfort. Every time my daughters leave after a visit, I need a bit of time to recover. My heart breaks for you for Willow's death. Animals fill our lives with so much joy and comfort. So sorry to hear about wonderful Willow, she was a lovely girl. We brought Ziggy, our 11 year old Black Russian Terrier with us. He’s getting on and now not as active as he was. Losing any family pet after having them be part of the family is devastating. We are so sorry. Our lives have taken a similar turn, we moved from S. CA. to Madeira at about the same time, and also have our daughter in LA. It’s so hard to say goodbye to them but so rewarding watching them become adults and fully reaching their potential.
