@@sadhu7191 Well I don’t meant just as a kid, it’s in general quite a gloomy and sad country. It was mainly the fact that I moved away from everyone I knew into a foreign country that I couldn’t even speak the language off and it felt like quite a change. Not to mention the fact that England has like 5 months of dark, cold and depressing weather with no snow. That’s my experience anyway.

I really enjoy your videos, but I especially liked this one as it is so homely! Also, It is really nice to see that you are happy at this moment in your life. As a lithuanian living in the UK, I do miss proper snowy winters. I find it so romantic when the snow is falling down slowly and it's dark and the street lights are on. Also walking on frozen lakes is fun! I mean every season has it's charm.

the problem is not that winter is coming. the problem is that winters are changing. 19/20 winter was the warmest ever recorded. there was no snow. just rain and misery. 20/21 was the opposite. there was so much snow that national emergency was declared. many roofs collapsed. including ours (nothing extreme. but roofers had to be called). also it was cold af even for Lithuania. don't know what to expect this year...

A lot of the things you share are quite underappreciated by others, Lithuanians included. You are a couple of hours away from a huge variety of nature spots, and you're also just a few hours away by plane from almost every single major city in Europe. You can have an absolutely insane working week all over Europe, and then come back to your home base and just chill out with no one to disturb you.

Brace yourself, winter is coming. Extremely cold winters are rare nowadays, but winter season can be pretty depressing here. Just 8-10 hours of daylight, usually cloudy and pretty dark, with just few sunny days per month. Cold wind, light snow or mix of rain/snow occurs almost every day. But there's good news - spring will be so much more rewarding than in most countries!

Really enjoying your videos and appreciate the time and detail you go in to 😊 As for winter, a dry crisp winter is gorgeous. Just buy the best quality of warm boots (waterproof), down coat pref to the thighs or lower , wool hat, scarf and mittens and then thermal underwear. Buy natural fibers for clothing- I think wool is better than cotton. I've lived in Cda all my life and -30 c is bearable as long as you have the right clothing and get out and enjoy the beauty of the snow 🥰 OH and buy a humidifier- indoor heating will dry out your skin, hair, face, sinuses, throat etc so you need to bring some moisture back in to your home in the winter. Open the windows of course for fresh air too 🤗.

Great video thank you (as usual). I would like to comment about no one speaking English in shops in Lithuania. This may be a bit misleading information to international watchers. The town you currently reside is very small and absolutely not touristy but in all major places most of staff speaks at least basic or intermediate English. Especially people under 40 years old. English is compulsory language in schools, I don't imagine any normal young-ish person who would not understand in English what is vaccination card. I had multiple vistors visiting me in Lithuania from Ireland, UK, Denmark and everyone were fine with getting around communicating in English everywhere... I am sure the particular town of Utena might be having such issue (because I am sure you are sayng truth) but the the rest of most places... Apart of that thank you again for you amazing vlog, really enjoyed it!

Hey! Again, great video showcasing the beauty of Lithuania, I feel happy that you are enjoying your time there :) I wanted to ask. Myself and my wife would like to move there. As a Lithuanian native with a job lined up, I am not so worried. But my wife is of Sri Lankan descent and speaks Tamil as well as English. Have you got a job for the duration of your stay there, and if so, how easy was it to find one, considering the language barrier? Thanks!

Hey, Lithuanian native here. It really depends on the city. If you come to the capital, almost everyone is able to speak English. When it comes to jobs it really depends on the job type, if its (in my case) it, then we have around 40% of developers, content writers and testers, that don't speak Lithuanian and just moved here. Overall most people who have at least a bachelors can speak English here :)

@@lowevar6 Dėkoju Jums už atsakymą. Norint įkurti šeima ir įsigyti butą/namą tai bus sunku man vienam ant vienos algos. Bet tikiuosi viskas kažkaip įkris į vieta sakant. :) where there is a will, there is a way, as they say!

There is supposed to be a Russian tank in the lake in Utena. The story is that it fell through the ice in the war. Well that is what we got told anyway :)

I've never been to either of those states. It doesn't remind me of anywhere else I've been before.

I stopped the video and check my vaccine card online, looking for a bar code, or whatever it's called...and I have one. But my physical card is the basic oversized paper card that doesn't look real. When I 1st received my vaccination card, I thought to myself, "this is garbage, it doesn't fit in my wallet, and it doesn't look real." My fear was that when I get back on the road, no one is going to take this care seriously. I hope my electronical (spelling?) card works.

I just got back from Spain. I got a QR code to scan from the airlines required by EU. It required identifying all my locations I traveled in Spain or elsewhere. The US is debating a Covid passport. I t sure would be easier for travel to have a Covid passport. Without that, I feel kind of confined.

That's so strange. I live in a state in America where nobody cares. I got vaccinated in April and not once been asked for my vaccine card in my state or any of the surrounding states when I travel either. I've been asked by regular people about my vaccination status when where about to crowd into like an elevator but that's about it. Good video.

It's not that unusual over here - I get asked for it most places in Lithuania, was asked for it almost everywhere in Germany, many places in Spain, Italy and France are asking for them for indoor dining or shopping. It's not too different in New York either.
