Being sensitive will generate a field of presence in which you can observe through attention everything happening spontaneously. The more sensitive you are the more field will generate. Just be aware of that and watch everything with all your senses. That’s the real fate or realization and you don’t need spiritual hocus-pocus because that’s a natural state for human beings. Don’t think about just watch with all your senses.

I am amused by all the comments from people offering their wisdom. This is reflective of how the ego makes one feel as if he is an expert or awakened. When you see what there is to see there is little to talk about or to prove to anyone else.
While the philosophy is good, religion, Bhakti is good, it is also important to seek thetspy( cognitive behavioral therapy) along with medications. Depression is not imaginary, it’s like diabetes or hypertension. It involves neurotransmitters. I heard one gentleman here talk about depression. Please get help. Just like ur body needs vitamins, food, u have to seek help for depression!🙏
Great point! And that does not contradict what he’s saying here either. As I know you did not imply :-) Sometimes this human form needs help in order to feel better and continue to show compassion to others. However, I think the key is to just except that this is true. I myself suffer with bipolar and depression, and through these teachings and many others I recognize that I can’t feel sorry for myself, or will it away. I do what I can for my body because this is the reality in which I live. Everything is in God’s perfect will and I ask for that will every day. Sometimes minute by minute!
The idea of destiny and worthless-ness of free will is certainly hard to accept. But this acceptance ultimately translates to the act of Surrender (which Ramesh ji also talks about here). What i understand is that Surrender is the way in which the sense of personal doer-ship dissolves and actions are done in a flow in which there is no conscious thought. The severe pain of psychological afflictions like depression is very genuine and i donot yet understand how spiritual insight can deal with that. I suffer from depression too, at times very powerful. What may be considered here is that Suicide is committed in a heightened state of Ego in which the Self pronounces that the pain is unbearable and inescapable. And if the Ego is to be completely dropped and surrendered, then the identification with forces of depression will cease. I admit that i struggle to internalize this beyond mere intellectual understanding. But in my mind, i keep returning to the idea of not identifying with my Ego.
@Cowzah I once suffered from depression as well and I think you are correct about the possibility that the depressive thought patterns can be dropped/surrendered. One day, it suddenly happened within me. Terrible spiraling thoughts about low worth, no hope, no answers and then, suddenly... a new thought came. "What if I just didn't desire anything anymore?" But it wasn't dropping the desire for life, it was more like dropping the mental story of my life. The story my ego was repeating about unmet desires and hopelessness was was just dropped, suddenly. It was like my consciousness just lost interest in the story of "myself" and dropped it.
I went through the same and this teaching works you just have to keep at it go as deep as you can, wisdom takes time to sink in the system, years, but you will have learnet the most precious thing inlife after you get it. do not make any effort, just go deep, also check other spiritualities to have a better understanding, be curious and it will come. Open the hand of thoughts, be aware of them slowly but surely; they are the cause of depression and pain in the body.
I feel the same way. I've been following these teachings as well as the "direct, non-dual" approach for years. I've been meditating (I think) for hours every day for 14 years. Yet I am now as depressed as I've ever been. I sleep as much as possible and have no inspiration or motivation to cook, clean, get a job, make friends, etc. I exercise physically which helps me to feel fairly good much of the time, but then the dark thoughts arise again. I thought it was clear that there was "no one" here and that free will was an illusion. Now I feel like I've been fooling myself all this time. I am just a person. I feel like the doer no matter how clearly I see intellectually that I am not. I think it's time for me to admit failure and just go back to living as if conditions could bring me satisfaction. I'm cooked.
Depression is curable.... depression is our thoughts from the past... anxiety is from future....the power remains in now. Correcting the eating habits and swaying away from sugar and carbs ,eating veggies help... Long fasting work wonders..add b vitamins in the diet
Don't need to change your diet at all. Just change your mind by seeking the same non-dual path pointed at by people like Shankara and Buddah in the past.
How a human being has a "totall freewill". We didnt chose the country and family in which we were born and we are conditioned by that society , parents etc., and now any decision i make will come from that conditiong. Suppose if i was not born in India but america then the decision i take will be diffrent due to change in conditioning. So i dont have any freewill as im motivated or forced to take action and decision by my conditioning.
First find peace, be in peace with youre highs and downs. In that peace you will find something called happyness. When you seek happyness the seeking of happyness itself will be the problem. Find peace, be in peace with youre hate, fear, pleasure etc. so that isnt importand what arises in you. Then there is peace

Pain is exacerbated and prolonged by the label “ pain “. Thus: I am in pain. I think that the pain validates the me as real, and is therefore unconsciously propagated.
I am not the doer; accept the certain fact that life is uncertainty; and go with flow: knowing and accepting this, and changing my attitude towards life and 'the other', brings peace. That is enlightenment! Thank you, Rameshji!
Its interesting because if u are not the doer, the experiencer, you separate yourself from the act. But all conflict has its root on separation/division. It feels like everything is ONE, and if thats so, how can we separate ourselves from the ONENESS? It feels like its the our EGO MIND that separates us from everything thats why suffering happens. If everything is the same, we will always BE everything, we are the actions, we are thoughts, we are the trees, we are the people around us, we are the world, we are CONSCIOUSNESS which gathers everything in existence.

Patience of whom ? What you mean by Ramesh ? A biological body mind organ or God ? If your answer is body mind organ then I think there is nothing great in this because this body mind organ is nothing but a programmed machine (as per him) always acting according to God's will like any other ordinary human being. If your answer is God then I will say that God is without any attributes like patience.

I think Ramesh is out of his depth with Cunal. He has no true understanding of depression and pain. To simply say his pain is not as bad as millions of others and so should just "suck it up" is of no use to him. I can imagine Cunal leaving that room feeling even worse and without any answers.
one of the main sources of depression is that we are too focused on our own navel to the point of no longer seeing the world / on the other hand depression may be the only time in some people's lives when they can look inside themselves and have the opportunity to move towards "enlightenment"

There is no life, nor is there imprisonment. There is no god ether, nor creator. No root. No birth, no death. No truth. No false. No destiny. No script. No story. No good, no bad. No universe. No time - no space. No karma, no doer. No past or future lives; no afterlife, no presence either. No real or false beliefs. All those concepts above may only appear as that, but only as long as there is language/words attempting to describe “THIS what is” which is ALREADY free of any identity/story and context. It’s incomprehensible isness isnessing without any purpose and meaning but all meanings seem to arise from it. Like reality arising from unreality lol. Sometimes there is a rainbow in the sky, so what? You are already free, because there is no real you and nothing to be free from! You never done anything wrong or right, again there is no real you in that apparent body; behind those eyes, no matter how real that sense of you and the apparent story of you may seem. This is it as is - completely unknowable and ungraspable in spite of APPEARING knowable. Beliefs appear and disappear. No one chooses them - or opposes them -> So, mr. imaginary chooser, wake up! This is boundless freedom already no matter what those apparent thoughts say or don’t say; they are NOTHING already only appearing as something particular but to no one. No one can teach you anything. There are no teachers as there are no students. There may be arrogance, but no teacher can be held liable for being arrogant, it’s not like anyone chooses that. 😂 There are only names, symbols and words appearing to put this unknowable isness in a context to make everything appear orderly and to make sense of this appearance that can’t be even talked about other than through apparent words/symbols lol. Who or what would you be without a name, nationality/race and date of birth? No one! God first t will us to suffer. We all have consequences for the karmas we did in this life & several past lives. Hence we r born w certain genes, into certain families & certain conditions. Please get help for depression or for any other condition/ any troubles while also involved in Bhakthi, seeking forgiveness, seeking understanding. God will always help us with strength to bear the consequences of our karma as well as mitigate it. He will decrease a bad karma from a snake bite to an ant bite for example. When ur body & mind is not an ok e to deal w certain things, please care for it. Feed the body, mind & spirit. It’s not just mind & spirit alone. Take care of ur biological self too.
Society call his or her action.. But as all have free will but not control in results of action.. So.. Nothing of results, which society think his or her action.. Is actually his/ her action

Quite an atheistic approach to the whole issue, a reference to Krishna or Allah does not make you a theist, what makes you a theist is your relationship to the deity and usually in human history means the unlikely or the supernatural, which Ramesh here dismisses to the dismay of other "gurus" that are selling it by the pound!
Nothing is pre determined. Only acceptance will liberate us. Once we accept we are able to ride the waves of experiences. The knowing of being is happiness. common name is "i" In religious terms is god.
What is perfect Sir ! Is it perfect because a robber can now live with his head high because no longer he needs to feel guilty of his acts as he has now got the license to rob others and say that he is doing so because it is the will of the God ? Or a rapist gets certificate of his innocence because his acts amount to charity as he is fulfilling the will of the God ?

@@michaelmcclure3383 I am not sure whether the teaching of Sh Ramesh is of Karmyoga. Because in my understanding karmayoga implies the voluntary action with no end result in sight, which is certainly not the case in his teaching. Moreover, for karmyoga there has to be an element of doership (in early phase), which completely misses in his teachings. Fact remains, and that is based on first hand individual experience, that mere knowledge does not remove the conditioning of mind or past habits. It can be concurred only through practice. As long as mind is under the influence of Gunas it will be bound to react according to its composition of Gunas. Without practice even if there is knowledge, the composition of Gunas can't be changed. So Bhakti or surrender is culmination of the Karmyoga or in other words bhakti/ surrender shall be incomplete unless it has passed though the path of Karmyoga.
@@michaelmcclure3383 The moment Krishna says that one has only right to act means that one is free to act. Who is free to act of course the ego, I. If one can't act why will he ask Arjuna to act ? Think ! The moment you lose the sense of doership or sense of I you become the Lord Krishna Himself. There remains no separation between Him and you. You are just narrating the final truth but the fact is that this state has to be acquired in order to realize which in turn passes from the sense of doership and finally becoming not a doer. Mere stating intellectually that I am not the doer will not do good.
@@michaelmcclure3383 You are right. The enlightened sages identify with the body but fully understand that they are not the doer. My point is that this realization of not being the doer is not an intellectual understanding. The sense of doership falls automatically if one pursues the path of Karmayoga as its culmination. Here lies the catch. You referred Raman Maharshi who got enlightenment in very early age but to make that understanding and realization seeps through his being and remain steady he practiced sadhana for decades. And this is what I am trying to highlight. Unless the mind becomes fully sattvic it will never be steady with the realization even if one happens to get.
Even Physicists are saying freewill is an illusion. I think the Superpower that has created the Universe, has already scripted every bit of action that goes on in it and created beings like us only to act out the Script.
The old man is caught up in his own concept and he thinks he has arrived or enlightened. He is clearly creating a separation between him and the questioner, i know, you don’t, but at this age it will be very difficult for him to face this facts, so he sticks to his concepts, sticks to his experience, without releasing the thinker is the thought.

Don't see what is brilliant or so clear in the conversation. The conversation only raises questions and answers none. A man can't live even for a moment without an action, and what one does depends on his/ her prakriti (Gunas) , which in turn is the result of his past and present lives/ karmas (samskaras), this in turn depends how one lives and acts every moment and the eagerness she/ he shows every moment in knowing himself and also the purpose of life. Polio was incurable sometimes before but not now and this was possible because the effort and the will of the mankind. You can't say that earlier God had the will to make human suffer through polio but now He has changed his mind and now He wishes that no one should suffer from this disease called polio. Moreover, will you tell me why someone suffer and some enjoys if one can't do good or bad ?

@@lynlavalight I fully agree. Truth can't be perceived by mind and therefore mind has to be transcended. But here lies, what I call the Sadhana, practice, nidhidhyasana etc. to bring mind under control and not think that mind will come under control if it is the will of the God. All spirituality in essence teaches how to control the mind or transcend this mind which obstruct us from seeing the truth.

To reach the ultimate one can realise through any form (embodiment like Rama/Krishna/Shiva) or Formless(Brahma/allah/Shiva(formless).........) but only through one`s own internal journey through various path of meditation.

To me, this sounds like a lot of word salad and the basic idea that he is conveying is that no human has any control over what they do, be they murderers or rescue workers and everything is “God’s will” and that just not giving a shit about anything is “enlightenment”. 🙄
“God protect me from your believers!” -bumper sticker wisdom. Pain and suffering are impermanent and the 4th Noble Truth. In a dualistic world tormented by this or that; good or bad; right or wrong, etc one can attain cessation of suffering by being in the Middle Way or following the 8-Fold Path. We already exist in the Middle Way, but attachments to past keeps one in suffering. Every moment of existence in the intermediate state of this Gaia planet, all sentient beings are blessed with 3 Noble Identities which are in union of a mind/body incarnate. The First Identity is the ego identity; how we perceive our experience of self in this realm; it is the ongoing internal narrative of personal experience; ego protects and promotes our experience, but is also our own worst enemy! Second Identity is how community perceives ‘I’; it’s the Social Identity; it’s how a body of our peers judge/value ‘I’. It’s the ‘them’ in us. Third Identity is the Metaphysical Identity. We are essentially pure energy and thus, is here permanently (though body is impermanent). Energy is beyond demarcations of the body and is of divine origins of The Creator. We return to what we create, in one form or another, and suicide is not the answer. Who we are is determined by the identity in which we dwell from moment to moment. True transformation occurs upon breakthrough of Monkey Mind (the default mind program of our species). But Transference from this Gaia to another Pure Land is an unknown new art … or is it? Transference is the Great Escape from this open-air prison that was once a Pure Land Gaia. Our One Common Mother. Only Gaia knows where her sisters are in the vast cold harshness of deep space and thus how to get there. 41:00 his conclusion is that unhappiness comes from rivalry. This is not true in my experience. I have no rivalries and the best intentions, yet I am not happy. Also he is wrong about genes. We 𝑑𝑜 have control over our genes. I think in this talk, especially with the person at 1:08:30 he makes the mistake of "for a man with a hammer, every problem looks like a nail". Totally not helpful for the guy, but I assume he gives answers/this talk to be of service. Anyway, he has some good points. For me, free will is a very good illusion and it doesnt help philosophizing about it - what's the point? Yes, God acts through us and yes we do have different possibilities of acting but this is also highly limited by a lot of factors. I like to think in terms of 'we have a certain degree 0 < x < 100 of free will', strictly not 0 and strictly not 100%, and even if it was 0 or 100: it doesnt matter.
That depressed guy was probably suffering more from the rejection of his pain, his tendency to push back and try to be rid of it was more than likely causing the majority of his turmoil, I say this because I have suffered severe depression and I noticed that there were certain times when I was comfortably depressed. I realised these times of comfortable depression were caused by my acceptance, my non rejection of my feelings, and so now though I still have depression I suffer much less, for the times when I find it hard to accept for reasons unknown I find an acceptance of my non acceptance to be acceptable to provide a level of peace of mind. I got the feeling Ramesh didn’t quite know what to say though he clearly understands acceptance of what is is what gives peace of mind, his attempt to speak of those worse off seemed more like a plan B kind of thing due to not being able to find the words.
Well said. I also wondered why didn't Ramesh tell him to accept his pain. I think if he was given a chance to think, he would've done a better job at answering. I liked what you said about accepting your non-acceptance. Thanks for sharing that technique.
Are there two bodies and minds? One automatic - biological with its own instinctual- gene logic and one conditioned - programmed by social environment? Is that what the master says?
This man is so wrong about what he calls a 'biological reaction'. Example: anger. He thinks anger is a biological reaction, then the Ego gets involved and says "I am angry". Horse radish ! Our senses or sense organs like eyes, ears, nose, skin, tongue only makes first contact with the object, then it transmits that information to the central system, so in all biology is only involved in picking the signals and transmitting them. What happens as a reaction those signals is determined by the ego, not the biology as he claims. He must have been sleeping during his biology lectures.

So he enters human form to use the vocal cords. Do you not see the turtle? The supreme turtle! What I see is the turtle. I do not see the human but the turtle (being). Does this open anyone's eye's? Then perhaps there's hope for that one. If you try to see turtle you will not.. It's a turtle without you trying to make it so. Empty cup of all self doership and what re enters are you eyes!
