"You should be ashamed." While she just stood there and did nothing as well, if she cared so much why didn't she do something in the first place instead of hiding behind Chloe.
Welp, she told Drew to leave Nathan alone, but he didn't give two shits abt her. She asked Chloe because she can be intimidating, and Drew would notice her he like it or nah, so I think that's why she asked Chloe to step up.
Honestly after playing this game I understand why Chloe hates everyone. No matter what you do is wrong. I tried helping Nathan without putting him down and then later Victoria comes out of nowhere being rude about helping Nathan. Even the simple thanks to David was taken as sarcasm. Even how often max texts you is extremely sad too.
Commanderfox945 If you tell David "Whatever" instead of "Thanks", he doesn't think that it's sarcasm... for some reason. I think he thinks of it as a thank you in Chloe language and thinks thanks is sarcasm in Chloe language maybe.
Same here,i defended nathan and that girl praised it yet later on she has suddenly started texting chloe, some type of hate messages that she will regret it. Is that girl crazy?
That Samantha chick was very hypocritical with the "do something you can't just stand there!" Whilst she stands there then blames chloe is she does nothing? This games logic is very.. off
Mystical Potato Queen It’s not the game’s logic that’s off, it’s Samantha’s. People, especially teenagers, are very hypocritical. They’ll tell you to do something while they themselves don’t do anything. The game is spot on with the logic of teenagers.
Mystical Potato Queen that logic is applied to the people nowadays who only grab their phone out of the pocket and record whenever there is an accident, fighting or even disaster.
Mystical Potato Queen yep, this games logic is off. just like the first game. this truly is a Life is Strange game. (don't get pissy I really loved this game so far but goddamn)
True dat I really think they should also show his sister for instance since she cares about her little brother so much plus it can be before she leaves to go to Brazil and the impact on Nathan
I think Samantha did care (like she tried) but it's not in her nature to act agressively, so she called him out when she knew she was safe (behind Chloe). The "you should be ashamed" wasn't aimed at Chloe for not helping out, but her attitude towards it.
"You shut the fuck up!" The way she said that, with her voice and her looks of a puppy just made me burst out laughing. One of the funniest moments in the game, hands down.
His side of the story is simple, he has a lot of psychological problems and his rich and greedy father does nothing about them, and even ignores the doctor, and constantly intimidates him about the "Prescott" name.
NoMoreHeroes 75 I just want to reinforce this statement as to avoid misunderstanding... Yes French people wrote this, in a French context and probably a French language syntax. Which means it's up to English translators to do their best to put it in English. But here you see this is where the essence is lost. The only solution is to really know French. Also, this is Deck Nine studios we're talking about, not Dontnod. So if you feel awkward about the script don't be turned off by the game as a whole.
I wouldn’t get too attached to Samantha. Assuming everyone here already played the first game or knows what happened, you should know that Samantha has her own binder in The Dark Room and she is no where to be seen in the first season. I know this game was written after the first one but she was still absent from LiS, regardless so I think this game will show her disappearance or her leaving the school.
DaddyKaplan Yeah but she will be here in THIS game bc most of the dark room stuff happened in life is strange. But she could have been the first one to go to the dark room bc she obviously has a crush on nathan so she was easy to get.
It’s also she was a probably a senior who granulated because Chloe is a year older than max a handful of characters in before the storm aren’t in the original it’s a year later
I guess the same can be said for that new teacher character. In the first game, we didn't see the whole school and every student so I guess it makes sense. That or Samantha moves somewhere else before the events of the first game.
Why is Nathan cuter when he's wearing a sweater UM Edit: Oh shit 131 lmao thanks Edit 2: Ples stop liking I already have 247 likes um Edit 3: Oh 311 likes but y
in other ways: true. He wouldn't resist feasting on other people's downfalls. (Can't deny he adored manipulating them through drugs, and when fed-up just disposing them out-cold or without pulse)
he was having a mental breakdown while chloe was still being a bitch to him, she never actually deserved what he did, yeah. but i can kind of understand why he did it.
How tf am I not seeing anyone in the comments nervous about what Nathan actually has in that damn book? I don't think Drew is the bad person in this scene in the slightest if the stuff in that book is "pervy" and "weird sh*t*
it wouldve been better for both the player and samanthas character if instead of telling chloe she "should be ashamed", she just didnt say anything at all and instead have her look down and guilt-stricken or something. imo the player wouldve felt guiltier as that would have reinforced samantha as the shy girl with good intentions but not enough confidence to carry them out, as opposed to chloe who definitely has the bravado to do so, if she chooses to. having samantha telling chloe to be ashamed of herself just, like everyone is saying, makes her seem hypocritical. idk maybe the devs wanted it that way so chloe has more reason to continue giving no shits but eh, just my two cents (that no one asked for B)
+TKheimpel on accident he use the gun to threaten her to leave him alone and he has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and suffers from depression and anxiety when chole push him he accidentally pulled the trigger and shot her.
+Cosmic Dark Thanks for stopping me from writing all that down too. He also has muscle problems. Chloe pushed him and he accidentally pulled the trigger.
+Ty Davis did you even hear his voicemail? He said he never wanted to hurt Rachael he accidentally gave her a overdose and if he was a psychopath he would of not felt any guilty when he shot Chloe or would of not of sent max a voicemail apologizing for all he has done.
I'm not a mr or ms Mirror the reason I said tried is because max prevented by turning back time but if max wasn't present then yes it would have been accidental
the creepy pics are the pics he took of the drugged girls as jeffersons apprentice this is a prequel we know this from the first game the same reason why the ending is just missed phone calls and camera shots
Why are people hating on Samantha? Hop off. In the scenario where she tells Chloe that she should be ashamed, its when Chloe didn't speak up at all. If you speak to Samantha prior to this scene, she says she knows Chloe is a good person despite the gossip. So it makes sense that she expected better from Chloe regarding a bully. In that choice, at least Samantha told the bully to stop when she approached! And that is a lot for a wallflower/someone bad with socializing. If Chloe stands up for Nathan but Drew still throws the book in the fountain, Samantha is thankful to Chloe for at least trying. The fact that she cares so much about Nathan and anti-bullying makes her one of the sweetest people in this game.
people aren't hating on samantha just because she says "you should be ashamed of yourself", people dislike her because of how hypocritical she is. essentially, what does she expect chloe to do, that she couldn't have done herself? of course this is a game and its programmed so that when you succeed in the backtalk event drew doesn't throw nathan's folder in fountain but not having played through the choices you can only tell chloe isn't much bigger and tougher than samantha herself so its not like she could tear drew away from nathan physically. plus drew's reaction to chlo saying anything of "the mute speaks?" clearly indicates chloe is not one to interfere and likely doesn't have a past of stepping into fights and is more of a loner, an angsty wallflower. so again, what did she realistically expect chloe to do?
When I leave Nathan alone and get beaten off, i feel sorry for him but if I help him, he's a jerk and my head would just go, "maybe the other choice was better"
According to Jefferson, Rachel was Nathan's first "kill" (tho a lot of people have come up with theories that Jefferson was lying). And no, there wasn't a binder for her. I think she just moved from Arcadia Bay due to its deteriorating state.
Okay so the physics in this game suck fucking ass. But I love the story and dialogue so far :> Sure, it's cringey but it's so realistic---- and that's why it's cringey so just enjoy it, bros.
To everyone commenting on Samantha, she is shy and awkward. She is slow and wouldn't even think of standing up to the bully, while Chloe is a rebel mute. She loves rebelling, she would so stick up. Please do your research.
No, Jefferson wasn't at the school yet. Nathan got the dark room after Jefferson roped him into his weirdo shit. That was a long time after Before the Storm. But Nathan's artwork has always been dark and weird-looking.
samantha prob didnt do anything cause shes a freshman and would get squashed like a little bug if she stepped in. she knows that chloe is the type of girl who would throw a punch if she had to, where as samantha is a kid in comparison and knows she doesnt have the courage to step in
nonsensical There was more missing girls. Victoria didn't live, Jefferson was about to kill Max. Its either samantha moved schools or died. But we all saw her folder in the dark room...
I'm sure that will be explained? I think they would've focused on missing girls, since Jefferson was currently targeting Blackwell girls...Also, he was about to kill Max because she was concious and he could use Nathan as a scapegoat
I know some of the VAs went on strike for Before the Strom but did the VA for Nathan went on strike as well and his voice was done by someone else. ???
@Rorschach Yes Nathan situation isn't cool I feel bad for him too but I said that I feel bad for Drew (and Mikey) because of his situation and what we learn later in the game, that's pretty sad and I don't see a lot of people talking about this (and maybe it's not clear but I'm not saying I'm excusing his behavior)
Samantha really cared for that psychopath who put Chloe into torture and purposefully got involved in the dark room situations! Open your damn eyes! That's why Samantha is my least favorite character in BtS.
Nathan was only 14 at that time and he really did care about people, he just didn't know how to express it since his god damn father didn't give him the same. Technically his father is the main villain in this franchise and last but not least, Nathan is not a psychopath.
He's a boy who was born rich. His father rules the city. I really don't believe he suffered bullying at school being a helpless kid. It seems that Before The Storm is only trying to make people feel sorry for him. I can't believe he was a poor little boy once. Hello? His father can crush anyone! He controls even the director. I'm not saying that Nathan is a demon, he just is not a poor kid like "Oh, poor boy! he suffered bullying, people did evil to him and now hes a jerk" Oh c'mon.
Isabella Francine Well in my opinion he turned into a jerk because he was sick of being taken advantage of. So he made sure that everyone bowed down to him because he's a hyper insecure guy.
mackvnzie yeah, seems like everyone thinks like that. But he's a rich boy and his family control all the City. Why would be he insecure? He grow up knowing he has power to control the city. This thing about "insecure" doesnt happen in the real life when you grew up knowing that your family can do anything. Just doesnt happen! C'mon
Isabella Francine People have been going around saying he has some sort of a mental illness which probably fuels his insecurities. I don't know what it is, though.
Yes, he really has. but he does things that are simply cruel and not a mental disturbance or something. When Kate jumps from the building, he is downstairs smiling at the situation and other events throughout the game. He may be a mental patient but he is cruel.
Drew's ableist bullshit fucking pissed me the hell off. I don't care what kind of background Nathan comes from (he's just a kid; he's not responsible for the messed up shit his father does), you don't get to target his mental illness.
And Drew is weaker than Sean because he has no way to get to him, his father was fired because of him, Nathan was only on the team because of privileges, and Sean holds more power over him because of his wealth and influence over the town. What's your point?
