Spoiler: don't read if you haven't played Life is Strange Samuel is future Warren from Life is Strange 1. That explains how Samuel not only can see the future, but he's also guiding Max. Also, Samuel says 'young Max' as to insinuate that Samuel knows the old Max. Why? Old Max and Warren time traveled together to the day Max first got her powers. Because Max chose wrong. In the ending scene Max chose to save Arcadia Bay but now that old Max realize that she can time rewind without actually creating a tornado after mastering her powers, she now aims to change her first ending pick. She now wants to pick another ending where she saves Chloe.

Which makes sense, because the Prescotts only want power. This explains the headaches of Nathan and why he yells: everyone will die. Did Nathan see the future and no one believed him? This is how Nathan's dad knew about the fact that the storm is coming so he built a storm bunker and he hired a world famous photographer to find out who the enemy is of Arcadia Bay. In the end the real enemy: Max Caulfield, escaped the storm bunker and -saved Arcadia Bay- chose to destroy the only paradise on Earth and save Chloe

@@1917MSC there's a theory her parents signed Max to 3290432 extracurriculars and clubs and stuff like that so she'd "forget" about Arcadia Bay and move on and wont feel lonely and that's why they never took her to Arcadia Bay too see Chloe or encouraged her to write/call/email Chloe, they thought if they remind her of Chloe they'd distract her from her Seattle life and she'd feel bad for leaving. Also Max was like 13-14 at the time, it's possible it's the parents' fault. I too have a few close childhood friends with whom i've lost connection even tho we have our facebooks/instagrams/etc and live generally close, we dont text or call or smth anymore because, in my perspective, if you dont call for a while it gets too awkward to start calling again and both people kind of move on. If you just procrastinate calling for a few months, you just get anxious it's gonna be awkward to call and be like "hey bestie sorry i was gone 3 months". It's possible Max felt the same.
