I left Paris, France, a year ago, because I wanted adventure, to change, to discover places... I landed in Sydney and after few months, I bought a bike. Since then, I'm driving, no gps, with music from time to time, rinding for hours and turning back home almost at sunset, always arriving late at night even if I'm working the next day. And I love it, by myself, driving safe, no speeding like I used to. Just me, my bike and the nature... I don't have any talent with camera or editing but I can see myself in your video @Mojobike , and I thank you for that, thank you for showing the world what we can experience on our bike. To everyone reading this comment, if you are dreaming about adventure, no matter how little or great the challenge is, go for it. Life is so beautiful out there.
I'm feeling exactly the same way as you right now. Got a big trip on my bike for me starting in October ( UK to Capetown ) It both terrifies and excites me at the same time. There's a million things that could go wrong, but if I make it i think it will make me. people have travelled further ( around the world ) but this will be my biggest trip by a long way. it'll take me 5 - 6 months, I'll be 73 when I start, so it's unlikely that I'll follow this trip with a longer one. Hope you enjoy yours. With your photography skills you'll turn it into a fantastic video. Me - not so much.
Did a much shorter trip than you on my own in Apr this year: top of Ireland to south of Spain on a 20 yr old bike. Camped along the way in a tiny tent. Back up through Spain, over The Pyrnees with snow still on side of roads, into France. Back home to Northern Ireland. Not a single problem. Nothing compared to your planned trip. I am 71. So what? Came home, had an accident felling a tree. Not sure when I will ride a motorbike again. Man, am I glad I went to Spain WHILST I STILL COULD. Go for it friend. Stuff of dreams. I wish you every success 🙏🏻
@@jamesdouglas9812 Sounds like a nice trip. I went from the UK to Spain a couple of years ago. Mind you it was in summer, and even through the Pyrenees it was pretty warm, with no snow. My trip starts on 8th October, with a ferry to Bilboa, so cheating a bit but, due to my age, I had a bit of trouble getting health insurance. 156 days was the maximum I could get - hence I'm missing out France. Sorry to hear about your accident. Just goes to show you the DO IT WHILE YOU CAN attitude is important. Especially when you're, possibly, in the 'last chance saloon' so to speak. Hope you're on the mend, and able to get back on your bike ASAP. Even if you have to ride something lighter. As there's going to be a lot of bad and rutted dirt roads in Africa, I've chosen a light, simple bike for my trip.
40 yrs ago I challenged myself, travelling to Indonesia for a month of surfing. I learnt to ride a postie bike (Honda 110) before I left. Hired an old 150cc trail bike when I got there, put my surfboard over my shoulder and off I went. 19 yrs of age and never lived outside my parents home. Challenging, scary, anxious, completely out of my comfort zone. Foreign country, language, food, certainly some cringe moments where I look back and shake my head (as you do when old). At times very humbling, to see how insignificant our personal worries really are. It kick-started a life of adventures, surfing, motorcycling, seizing the moment. Many years and thousands of kilometres later, all around SE Asia, I wouldn't change a thing. Just turned 60 and looking forward to the next adventure. A lot older, a lot wiser, a bit more tired and creaky in my bones. To any young people considering it, live in the moment and seize the day.
Your are my favorite moto creator!!! I've taken so many inspirations from you on my own videos on insta, I hope you make that trip, me and many others will be waiting to watch the amazing production!! Love from Mexico!!
You did good videos. I felt that 8 years ago… and I decided to move myself from a city to a remote village and lived with the minority tribes to deepen my life experience and journey.
I saw your video from ladakh its so amazing and cinematic. I did that same trip on a RE himalayan last month. And when I saw you fall on road and connected. I remember my own time failing so many times on roads and in the river crossings. I was so nervous to do it but dit it anyway. Great motorcycle journey you are on!
Your talent truly captivates the soul, a dazzling beacon of brilliance in a world that often feels mundane. If I were blessed with even a fragment of your remarkable abilities, my heart would swell with gratitude. Embrace each step of this wondrous odyssey with the knowledge that your gift is a rare treasure, one that stirs the spirits and awakens the dormant dreams within us all. Enjoy the ride. Cheers Kev
Woke up and saw there is a new Mojobike video; had to watch it and wasn't disappointed. Can't wait to see what you film in the Himalayas. I bet it will be epic!
That was beautifully filmed ❤️ Be as nervous as you want but you have to go! Enjoy every moment you are there. Because it will be over so fast. Then all you will have is memories. So make them amazing like yourself ❣️
August is a bad time to go to the Himalayas. It's usually the 2nd half of the monsoons in northern India, which could mean incessant rains, washed out roads and limited open facilities. Sometimes the boots don't get dry for days. Apr-June and Oct-Nov are the best months.
Thanks for the info, I've booked everything, and it's going to be hard to re-adjust. However, I'll keep this in mind for my preparation. I'll have to pray to God it's good weather 🙏
@@mojobike No worries, it will still be an adventure. Just bring - 1. Waterproof hi-vis rain jacket (I use Cyclone 3 from Revit), waterproof gloves, waterproof pants (roomy ones, not tight fit) and waterproof socks. I'm sure your boots are already GTX. 2. While I wear motorcycle pants, I do not use a riding jacket - it just gets too hot & heavy in India. Instead I wear solid elbow guards under a Fjallraven Abisko Shade jacket - which keeps airflow going, otherwise I sweat like a pig. In India, you don't get to ride too fast. 3. Bring water sandals like Tevas or similar. 4. Quick dry synthetic clothes for on and off motorcycle. Have fun.
gonna be a really tough road trip & full of adventures but you will succeed 👍👍 Remember, it is not the destination but it's about the JOURNEY... and i cant hardly wait to see the videos😉
Are u driving with your Triumph? I am between a BMW R9T Scrambler or the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE but i would love to have the BMW but i dont know if i can fit that much luggage for the trip :D
to go to the bike trip has been always a dream for me since teenage, however one thing that stopped me is that i don't have a ride, since i don't have a ride i trekked last year, it was the best feeling to be close to the nature and meet new people, hoping to get a bike next year and go on trip.
