When I went to school in my mid to late teens (equivalent to a mix of high school, college and trade school), my classmates would cheat on tests, steal my books, lie about others, kiss the teacher's behind, try to give other people bad self esteem, copy each others work without permission, steal ideas and a lot of other awful behavior. These people grow up and become adults, and they might change for the better, but some just get more subtle and better at doing it quietly.
Anyone who does exemplary work WILL end up pirated and plagiarized. It's just how humanity rolls. Monkey see, monkey do, and monkey take full credit for "inventing" the ideas themselves. 😂 It's embarrassing, but hey... that's how many, many, MANY folks roll. I still remember this one dude who tried to claim that he'd invented "reverse sound" by flipping a speaker backwards. If you know anything about sound, resonance, and waveforms... ummm... yeah, I don't need to explain it, lol. 🙄
@@jain78343 That just makes you look like a chump who can be taken advantage of easily. If you must work for free, try volunteering for a charity. Otherwise, education as well as other workplace experience is a good thing too, but the main thing is making that good impression - A lot harder to do nowadays unfortunately, given many jobs want you to apply online.
Oh god. Man I had the worst internship ever. Between all expenses I was paying $50 a day to do this (yes it was unpaid) and I swear to god one of the days I spent the whole time delivering a package for them. To anyone, NEVER take an unpaid internship
I had to do one for one month of full-time unpaid work to graduate (part of a practicum needer to graduate) but I was lucky the people were nice and kind to me, on my last day they even gave me like $800 which yes is not even minimum wage more like 25-40% but they didn't have to do that and they did
Why did you ever think taking an unpaid internship was a good idea? Any sort of work related to my career has to be paid. Your basically an employee working for no pay which is against labor laws
Even if you’re an intern never tell people too much information about yourself at work and it’s common knowledge to lock your computer before leaving your desk 😀
Please make more like this. Probably the highest quality wojak stories on youtube compared to others that use like 50 meme sounds in every video. High quality. If you need feedback for life as a teacher or such lmk.
Being an intern is nothing but endless coffee runs, long hours, pointless tasks, and most of them with no pay. All that work for nothing…welcome to the void.
I was an intern at 2 different jobs and never was I asked to make anyone coffee, we did the same work as the regular employees but were paid less that’s it
@Low Budget Stories... you're *really* kickin' arse with the editing and layouts on these. Nice "focus pull" on that early shot of Wojak overhearing the conversation while he was in the BG at the coffee machine. 💪😎✌️
I'm thankful that my internship is finished. It was a good experience even though I've struggled so hard. I commute around 80+km everyday back and forth for internship and I work for 12 hours in order for me to already finish my Internship. The company that I've been in was great its just the transportation that I'm struggling so hard. In those months I have only 5-6 hours of sleep and I always got a brainfog during work. I finished last month and I'm getting back my sleep now.
There is always someone at work who will screw you over like this. Usually more than one. And you will never know about it until the manager tells you.
Yes, I've met several of types of people over the years. I hate the corporate world. It's so fake and those that make out they like each other really don't. It's quite funny to watch.
@@vanessahenderson1850 It's not just this world, but every workplace. Even in a warehouse people will screw you over to make themselves look good. And it happens even when they are your friend to your face. Only place I found not as bad is a building site with skilled workmen. They are usually happy to help you out or cover for you. Unless I've just been lucky. Office jobs are probably the worst though.
The trick is to have multiple income streams as side hustles so that you don't give a flying fuck about the corporate bs, you just do the job and ignore the crap because who cares really. Especially if your employable outside of the company anyway and been there a while that would warrant a big redundancy if they closed your role. Let them play checkers while you play chess 😏.
Reason why I left my last job of 5 years. I was doing 'too much' set a high standard and got a bad reputation amongst colleagues because the bosses felt the need for them to work harder.
What sucks about internships is that besides being unpaid, many times internships are needed to pad the resume as work experience to hopefully then land a real full time job with a paid salary and benefits, because many jobs nowadays needs lots of work experiences to even get the foot in the door. The dilemma of "I need a job but the job requires experience", so therefore I guess that's why unpaid internships exists.
Interns are off the org chart and generally in a good way. You meet many more executives than most employees ever will and no one has any idea what you actually do
If the Manager or any staff gossip about someone at work to you they'll gossip about you to someone else while you're not around.. that's how it goes at work places.
Bit of a "meh" ending. A more accurate ending would have been the manager receiving all of the credit and Wojak being cut loose at the end of the internship when it comes to actually paying him a full wage. Doesn't matter how good you are as an intern, they know they can simply replace you with fresh new cheap labor giving it their all on false hope, only to be replaced again.
@@SSJfraz nope, not how it works buddy, that's what I said. Idk what kind of internships you've been on, but looks like you're just assuming the worst out from your ass
@@SSJfrazliterally isn't, I did an internship last summer and summer before, was a very positive experience both times, this video was nothing like them. First summer was with small civil structural eng consultancy, second was with subsea engineering contractor
Lol, this was amusing to sit through. Especially with that rookie mistake of not locking his screen. Or better yet, not having the monitor on while leaving for a while.
Being a corporate employee i can say that there are so many vultures on the floor. So desperate to take credit and be a loyal dog, they can even tarnish a image of any1. All are like OTP's but behave like a life insurance.
Man I remembered when I had my internship almost ten years ago at this church as a graphic designer, legitimately some of the most passive aggressive people I’ve ever met, I even got ripped a new one on my birthday for being late and they turned around and threw me a “birthday party” I hated interning so much 😒
@@Novastar.SaberCombat they definitely was I even remembered when I overheard a pastor saying we need to watch out for these Muslims, mind you, this was around 2015, so tensions were already running high, I hated interning there honestly
Can relate...Moral of the story: Never try to make friends in the workplace. Just assuming everybody there is asshole, ask more but don't tell others much of your own infos. Always Be Careful when talking with your colleagues.
I finished my unpaid internship as a assistant cancer researcher 4 days ago. It was a good time, discovered some interesting things. Now i am gruatuated form college. Its feels weird that my college life is over.
I'm a firm believer at always giving credit due where it's deserved. Glad I don't have that type of petty work environment around me lol. This is the type of shit that can launch someone's career, especially in the internship phase.
You don't need an internship. Corporate culture often sucks. If you're hardworking and mind your own business, they might perceive you as lacking communication skills. Don't get involved in their petty jokes. Office employees often use interns to do boring tasks and then steal the credit. I personally dislike interns who try to act cool and think they know everything. I will suggest build connections with professionals in your field on Twitter, learn and share your knowledge publicly, and consider freelancing. Escape the corporate grind and wage slavery by building your own agency.
In China, some companies even hire a bunch of interns (fresh graduates) at extremely low wages or even without any salary. During the probationary period, they assign them a lot of tiring work that doesn't require any skills. Once the probationary period is over, they kick them out and then recruit a new batch of interns. It's disgusting.
The one and only internship I ever did was paid thankfully. It wasn't what most people think it was like. I helped out on a couple of proposals for some government agencies.
Was an intern for 6 months. No pay at all and i ended up giving my own money which I've made at weekend jobs. At 4th month i stopped working at all since i was feeling very anxious and sad spending my own money and getting nothing... Fortunately i have finished my internship!
My internship taught me so much that I literally still keep the notebook from it in my bag at work today. It was like school plus work that taught me more than I even needed for my current job. It sucked ass to work for free and drive an hour each way(plus gas costs). But it also had lessons and homework plus practical, oral and written tests. There were multiple mentors who were actively trying to teach me stuff when they had a chance and I knew what I was supposed to do if everyone was too busy to teach me. If they actually have a plan to teach you something then it’s definitely worth it, if they treat you as a slave well…
I had a paid internship in my STEM field that hosted you at the university for free in canpus housing and paid $5K for 10 weeks. Only worked like 25 hrs/week too. But as you can imagine, it was harder to get into one than damn graduate school.
A lot of epople will say interns are a waste but I think people are forced to do them in order to get experience. If your internship sucks, cut it short. That's the hard lesson you need to learn asap as a young graduate
I loved how they called my internships "work-study programs." "Good work, Drake!" "Thank you, sir!" "You should be paid for it, but hard work is its own reward." *Makes red, angry, tearful Wojak face.*
Unpaid internship is BRAZY! I’ve been an IT intern (paid) for a corporate place for a little over a year and it’s real easy work, but you do have to watch out for those who want to throw unrealistic projects/deadlines on your plate… Other than that, a lot of it is acting like you’re doing something and being in meetings all the time lol.
I’m studying electrical engineering on college and i was having internship in one really good company. No bullshits, no need to dress anything special, doing some cable assembly or soldering because they can’t let me do anything more sofisticated and even got paid quite well if we consider wages in my country. I couldn’t imagine myself having intership in some business or economical studies 💀
Interning is a great opportunity to get to the front of the line for a graduate or entry level role. It’s competitive out there! Hilarious take on this. Keep up great content bro.
I did a 1-year internship in a cafe. Didn't get paid, didn't even lead to a job. Maybe one day I'll manage to get a job but right now I am just beyond fed up. I don't recommend it.
In the end it all comes up to you as an intern: - You can suck up to your bosses and do stupid tasks like getting coffee - Or you can figure out what work is actually important for driving the company forward and do that stuff regardless of what you are being asked for If you succeed well in the latter - companies don't care if you ignored their advise, all they see is the money you earned for them and you will land the job. If they do not see your hard work as an accomplishment, it's a sign that the company is rotten and you should find some other place to work at - there are no earnings to be made in a company who is so dumb that they would ignore a good worker who benefits them.
