Suraj is my new idol. Guy with no acting experience, but more talent than I can even fathom, intense passion, acted with imaginary animals, and made it look real (of course with the amazing talents of the animating team) and did all of his own stunts which included being pelted with gallons and gallons of water I'm sure. :) Just amazing. Favorite movie ever!
This young man is fantastic! And the movie too! When I read the book, I simply couldn't let it go and the movie still amazes me... Ang Lee has made another masterpiece!
Suraj Sharma was spectacular in the film, and I'm so glad to see that he's an intelligent, friendly and articulate person as well. I hope this rising star cleans up on awards for his performance; if he doesn't, something's really wrong.
the characters especially pi and richard, the plot of the story, the lessons, the visual effects, everything is amazing..it is just simply amazing. the greatest movie i ever seen.
This movie is the best movie i have ever saw and it has really changed my life, saw it in theaters with some friends and well i wish i had it on dvd so i could watch it when ever i wanted and i saw it in 3d too absolutely amazing for tons of reasons, i was lost for words when i saw it and im pretty sure it touched all who watched it
Best two hours and six minites of my life. I went to see this three times already. Fourth time tommorow. I cant get over this. Suraj come love me you beautiful human being you.
+Malja Steffi Lee It's a press junket, it's done in a hotel. So yes he probably had other movies to prepare/interview for, and there were also other interviewers outside waiting their turn.
Just watched it last night and can honestly say it's one of the best films I've watched....the way it makes you think afterwards is food for thought. Ang Lee deserved the Oscar...
Suraj and Ang both should receive an Oscar. The film was one of the very best I have ever seen (twice), and the book is one of the best I have read. It is a masterpiece.
Suraj Sharma lives and study at college near my home in Delhi. (my bad luck i dunno him personally!) Suraj is a hindi word literally meaning SUN ☼ well the boy is a rising sun in hollywood.
Good movie, good music and soundtrack, good actor, good director, good use of 3D, just a masterpiece! This interview was also more interesting than any other.
Suraj has the cutest laugh I have ever heard... at first I was like, "Wow that could get annoying..." but after hearing it the second time I was sunk. It's just so adorable!!
One of the best movies I've seen in my life :) and this interview is also a great insider into the thoughts and emotions of the director and main actor. Loved it :) so speeachless at what they have to say too .. It's a very opening interview.
this movie is amazing...Suraj and Ang are brilliant...they both deserve an Oscar....Suraj was amazing eventhough he's an amateur....the movie was inspiring and uplifting....i cried watching it...two thumbs up!
PREACH IT. I was so disappointed because I felt he deserved an Oscar over the others! I really feel that he was snubbed because he's considered an "unknown newcomer." But everybody know who he is now! :)
Wow...I had just seen Life of Pi yesterday and was it spectacular! Suraj Sharma's first feature film was definitely a masterpiece and I'm sure Suraj has big things ahead of him. Such a great actor. Can't wait for his next film!
Ang Lee is a maestro in movie industry. I read the book & watched the movie. Respect to Yann Martel as well, Ang Lee able to mix the story around & still able to remain the theme. Genius! He is the star in this movie.
It is called "Lullaby" a Tamil song sung by Bombay Jayshree. I cannot get this song out of my heart. Mychael Danna's understanding of Indian music and fusing it with European / western music was awesome! Mychael co-wrote the sing with Jayshree.
I can't believe he acted all with the blue background by himself, not with a real tiger! And Ann Lee and his team made the rest to make it a great great movie in 2012. Such a FANTASTIC job!!
Yeah, I remember that too - Frieda Pinto and Dev Patel were great, but they didn't get any sort of a nod. I think people forget that the Academy isn't a group of unbiased voters - they have friends who have been nominated, people who they like, so they are going to vote based on their own personal opinions on those people. Basically winning an Oscar doesn't mean that you're fantastic - at least not anymore.
Hooray for ''Paradise'' by Coldplay in this movie!! Also a stand up ovation for Ang for such a great movie and thanks because he brought Suraj to the big screen (he's just like, hypnotizing) People, if you haven't seen it, run to the theater!
Three cheers for Pi! Though Suraj didn't get nominated, this film has touched me in so many ways and many other peoples'. That's what matters at the end of the day. At least this film so rightfully won Oscars for Cinematography, Original Score, Visual Effects, and Best Director! And in any case Suraj will always be a winner in my eyes! [And he is pretty easy on the eyes, if I may say so ;)]
I hope people see this movie! I saw it in NYFF! It's amazing! The 3-D is used as part of the story, not just like "a cool effect". The story is so good, the tiger is just amazing, the performances... all of it is just so beautiful!! People.... go and see this movie!! It will be an Oscar frunt runner for sure and money very very well spend!!
