What an amazing attitude Mark has, we can all learn from that. Thank you Mark for allowing us on board. Great video as always. Thank you Nicky and Jason.
I envy you. your movies are so clean, no unnecessary gimmicks, just pictures and a story that is told beautifully. Truly one of the best sailing channels on YT. Thanks for giving the old man here something to dream about. Thanks! Like I said: I envy you.
there is no way to have planned such a journey, the amazing people, all have had an extended hand to make a difference in someone elses life. Even the children at carnival. Capt Mark worked hard for the life he now has and he is a gracious host to all. Thank you for taking us along
I met Mark at a braai at Cliffie Pococks house many many years ago .. It was a great evening thanks to some of the stories he told us. I still try to tell them to others but mark has a special talent in telling a story ...There's one about a horse his wife owned .. the horse somehow ended up in their swimming pool...
I know this happens to me nearly every video, but I could not believe the sense of joy and serenity I felt at the start of this video, just from hearing Nikki 's voice......I remember that you started one video a while back with "Hello dear friends", and thats how you make me feel every week, like a dear friend. Love you both. Have watched every video you have ever done and still look forward to each new one. Thanks so much.
I have been following you guys for MANY years and I must say that you always have the absolute best music in every vlog! No other RU-vid channel has anything else like it.
@@TideKnotTravellers If you ever travel to NZ you are welcome to visit and stay for as long as you wish one of our Islands 40 km off the mainland in the Bay of Plenty off the Nth Island. We s a family decided to open the island up to the public and turn it into an open air museum for the worlds travellers. We have a jv with the NZ conservation dept and you need to let them know that you wish to explore. There are hiking trails etc. Oh I better let you know the name of it. It is called Mayor Island and it is always peaceful with only a few visitors weekly. As far as I know the family does not visit often probably due to economic constraint . if you were to go I recommend you go online and purchase an old book entitled "Tuhua Mayor Island". We have an extensive Marine reserve, cabins for hire at 5 to 15 dollars a night and the fishing club is available for cooking and hanging out. The book reveals some fascinating insights with stories about intrepid Americans who visited it upwards of 200 years ago. There was the Cherokee dentist fisherman the famous Zane grey of the the Anglers El Dorado. mark Twain aka Samuel Clement visited. it is famous for big game fishing. In the book you will find pictures of my Grandad the famous big time game fisherman. Sorry about the novel but I sent an invitation to the Wynns to do the same. My family owns 25 per centile so I am llowed to invite whomever I wish. There is no requirement to meet with any family member as we have to follow the same rules as the friends we invite. Ciao.
Wow! I am so grateful you introduced us to that amazing human. Life looks so much better from my prospective now. It's been a rough year for us all but mine has been extra sucky. Everything from a cancer diagnosis in early January, to witnessing the tragic, sudden death of a child in our family last month. Then a couple weeks ago, one of my adult children very nearly died of a critical potassium deficiency. It would be easy to have a huge pity party, and I must admit, I kind of was, at times. In reality though, my cancer is in full remission, my daughter has almost completely recovered and we are all coming to terms with the loss of an amazing young man. All in all, I really don't have all that much to complain about. If Mark can be happy in his situation, I certainly can as well.
Thanks to Mark for letting us all come along. I'm sure he'll miss you guys. Such a beautiful video today. No pressure but I really look forward to them. XO, Kelly
Life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react to it. Life’s an adventure, live it! No matter what happens, find a reason to enjoy your day. Another great example of making the most of a difficult situation. Instead of surfing with a surfboard, next time try a boogie board. 😉
Loved it! Yes Nikki, when ever I have a bad day, I will remember this video and watch it again. It is a good day when we can watch a Gone with the Wynn video, especially you two surfing even if we are stuck in the US with all this coronavirus around us. Thank you for the message. ❤
Awesome episode guys...Capt. Mark reminds me of two guys from South Africa that came to visit us in New Jersey after my brother met them during a winter of surfing in South Africa during the 80's Great memories!
I had my Mark many yrs ago who took my freinds and I on several sailing adventures. He gave me lasting happy memories of a time in the most beautiful places. All thanks to those wonder Mark's of the world.
I am really impressed with Nikki's handling of this boat. I am impressed with both Wynn's fantastic ability to learn and adapt...and remember what they learned. What an adventure! Kudos, Wynns!
Your time with Mark on this fabulous boat is a once in a lifetime experience. I think that really sums it up. To try to embellish it, would be to detract from that special and unique experience. Fabulous episode, bravo. It's why so many love the Wynns.
I loved your take away and so true. What an inspirational guy, mark is and so generous! Thank you for sharing your time with him and for the reminder. It is so very easy to get complacent. Blessings!
That is key. Its true that happiness is within yourself. But , in all honesty, the water and the beautiful weather and the boat all do play a big role. The other thing is your love for each other because its not forever. Nothing is forever. You certainly do highlight the skill of living well for today. So beautiful there.
Nicky, I love what you had to say at the end. We need to live each day as a gift, be in the day and not waste it. Mark always has that great smile, to be living your dream, even in today's circumstances, is what we should strive for. Thank you for the amazing photography, love the eagle ray you spotted!
Captain Mark is a rare breed, but he does love where he is at and what he is doing. I love the boat, it seems to be far too large, but I like bigger sail boats and the fact he can sail half way around the world and not run out of fuel.
While I hope you get back to Curiosity soon, the real content of your videos is the two of you having fun and you can do that anywhere under any circumstances. The two of you are surogates for many of us that don't have the same opportunities but can revel in the moment with you.
Mark is so relax at what he loves and when you have what you've you have always wanted you tend to lay back and relax and there's nothing wrong with that specially when there is always that protocol
Thank you for your beautiful adventures with Captain Mark. A great chapter in the Wynn’s book of travels. The next chapter begins....one step closer to Curiosity!!⛵️⛵️⛵️🐠🐠🐠🌞🌞🌞
Really great drone footage this episode! It’s awesome to see the bigger picture of what you guys are seeing and experiencing. Jason’s silly talks to the camera where fun. He needs to commit to that surfer persona more. If you’re not falling, you’re not challenging yourself. Get back on that board Jason! 🤙
.... like your dialogue about Mark .... it all comes down to choices as you eluded to Nikki .. every second of the day we make choices whether they be conscious or subconscious, ultimately we are in control of our state, how we react ..... thx for sharing .... never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .... have fun be safe, save our oceans ......
That’s an awesome reflection Nikki, Mark sounds like quiet a guy, what a great unexpected experience to have. Thank you Mark for being an all round dose of medicine we all need 🙏🏻😍
You know you were the first inspiration for me that lead to my plan of a liveaboard life. I saw you on an RV video and the rest is history. That was about 4 years ago I think and my plan is in action, I’ve cashed up and now in hold mode while the world sorts it’s shit out, deciding on new build cat or leopard 46. Great channel, great people. Kiaora from Nz.
What you said at the end Nicky resonated through your videos about marks very nice disposition and attitude, it was very obvious from the get go, you just validated this beautifully about him and your time aboard! Honestly - great viewing!
What a beautiful video! Well said Nikki about feeling sorry for yourself. Chin uplove, life is always amazing...especially if your alive in the middle of the south pacific floating on a beautiful yacht with amazing company.
Fantastic story and beautiful visuals as always! For anyone else interested, the song that starts at 9:39 is "Movin' Along" by Katrina Stone from the Album 'Break My Heart'. I just listened to a bunch of her music and really enjoy it. Thank you for introducing me to fun new music Nikki and Jason!
You are 2 unique individuals & had the opportunity/pleasure to meet Mark, another extraordinary human being. Theres something about the surfing community that fosters so many cool people! I hate to see you leave his boat!!! I know how much you miss your boat, but even if you were on it your movement might be restricted. (See Zatara). So, as the US is a mess, enjoy all these Fijiian experiences & beauty!
I could do with a lot of Marks philosophy as I am living the dream but need to enjoy every day as it comes regardless of whether it is a good day or a bad day and it is easier said than done. You guys have presented the dream very well. Cheers from NZ
Agreed. Mark is pretty amazing. It would be awesome to scoot around on a boat in beautiful waters searching for your next spot to go surfing. Hope to see you two back on Curiosity soon. Be safe.
when i heard you were stuck in fiji and couldn't get to curiosity i was sad, well i'm not sad anymore, this series of vlogs from fiji are among your best. cheers to nicki and jason, God bless. you've been patronized! !
When I was 16 years old I wanted to be Mark when I grew up. Sailing to endless ports in the South Pacific. Frolicking (🥴) with beautiful women in the surf. Setting anchor at different remote islands every few days and living life to the fullest. But unfortunately as I grew older real life intervened and now all I can do is watch videos like this one and think about what could have been... Keep them coming! Y’all are awesome and big thanks to Mark for having you guys aboard. Great Video.
well Nikki, you are not the only one. I too have to learn to chill while waiting on something I am working on for years. focusing on the bigger picture and taking comfort from that perspective helps me a little bit. But it takes daily effort, minute by minute, moment by moment discipline to steer me away from the not so good vibrations shall we call it. My thoughts affect everything I know. It is work in progress and such is my journey. sending love & light to the both of you. see ya.
Captain Mark and his boat seems to have been the perfect pit stop for your mind, body, and spirit amidst the craziness of 2020. Safe travels and we hope you make it back to Curiosity soon :)
That video just flew by guys. Totally awesome! I am now officially envious. I was last in Fiji in 1994 and just have so many good memories and can’t wait to sail there myself and spend more quality time there.
Hey guys, another amazing video. I enjoyed it. Speaking of amazing videos, watched your video on selecting your RV from back when. They are still playing it on the RV Channel yesterday. The real amazing part is how little you two have changed. Youthful and vibrant as ever!!!
Beautiful the scenery is so beautiful and stunning.Very enjoyable! Reminds me of my trips where I take the good music like the Guns N Roses, Imagine Draongs or the Delta Parole and then enjoy the powerful feeling of the sea. ¡vamos!
Even though it's been a rough time, you guys have had some wonderful adventures. It could be worse. I have been stuck in my home I guess about a year now
another great video , thanks Niki. i can relate with you about the helm and the boat responding to the swells etc. Remembering my hours standing helm watch on USNavy destroyer like the one in "Grayhound" with Tom Hanks.
Some really very good under water videos of the coral and the tropical fish. Today the world is in a struggle with CoVid19 and the part that is winning. Positive attitudes and helping each other.. Thank you
It's an age thing Niki, when you get older and you want to and are able to do things you still love to do the bad things don't bother you as much. Great video guys.
This is a little more like what those of us in Canada think of when we think of Fiji!! Glad to see you having fun and enjoying yourselves, particularly with such great people! Mark's attitude is just something to see, we should all strive to be more Mark like!! LOL
"Gotta feed this rabbit" :) I'm collecting Nikki-isms :) Beautiful drone footage, and the zoom cut at 10:38 was just wicked ! As always... a treat to watch... thank you both...best wishes !
