I know I'm a little late to the party (see you at the party, Richter! 🙌) with this game being released in the Fall 2023, but I wanted to share my thoughts on it. Have you played this game yet? If so, let me know your thoughts on it.

I've had this game for a while and it had less play time than even Life on Mars. It's a good game but I just don't play my games that much.

@@modollaz8116 yea I enjoyed life on mars way better. I also lovr Metroidvania style games too. And I hear ya on not having much time to play. One of the main reasons why I started the RU-vid channel was to force me to play my collection more often lol

The aesthetic reminds me of the 1st RoboCop on NES but I’m sure this is way better.

Yea this is significantly better lol. Same vibe though

Kai Magazine is quickly becoming one of my favourite current developers. I'd probably also rate Mars a _little_ bit higher, but it's still really good stuff.

Same! I hope Kai puts out more stuff. I’ll buy it in a heartbeat

:-) It's interesting they choose to have her boots cover more of her body than any of her actual clothing. Maybe the virus is already affecting her and she forgot how to dress just picking up underwear, boots and a jacket? Kai makes some pretty interesting games. I definitely enjoyed Metal Dragon while acknowledging it's not perfect (I think a strafe button would have worked better than a lock in place button). Life on Mars looked really fun but I only played the MSX version which was pretty good and it seems like the Genesis was very similar so fun but controls could have been better and this one seems to follow the Metal Dragon formula of keep moving and don't try and kill everyone.

Hahahaha right? Must have affected her sense of fashion. I still have to play Metal Dragon… heard it was decent. I bought it not long ago and I’ll play it soon. But yea, I liked Life on Mars. Wish they didn’t have an upgrading farming system where you could just stand there and kill enemies non-stop and max upgrade you weapons. Kinda ruins the challenge. But regardless, it was still a lot of fun.

It's the sexy virus. What's wrong with that?

@@modollaz8116 haha, maybe. I haven't played the game yet to know the other consequences of the virus but I think we can handle the sexy virus.

If anyone wants to complain about $60 consider the cost of inflation vs 1994 ($125+) we’re getting this on the cheap IMO
@VicariouslyRetro

Hahaha true. Pretty wild that games cost the same now than what they were back then. Triple A titles should be $100 at this point. I remember N64 games being $70 back then. Pretty sure Ocarina of Time was $79.99 during launch. That’s like $150 now. Wild

@@VicariouslyRetro A _big_ %% of that price was manufacturing though -- it wasn't just the software we paid for. Those carts weren't cheap to make.

@@todesziege yea true. Those ROM carts were mad expensive back then
