He went out of his way and risked his own rep to keep his friend from getting killed. That gives me a ton of respect for Michael Franzese. I wish I had friends that were half that good to me.

@real american Nobody went to prison because of him, and he never turned informant. If his father is ashamed of him, it's only because he did the right thing and reformed himself. I don't think any of us can pass judgment on a man for that, especially when we're just run-of-the-mill regular people with no frame of reference for the life Mr. Franzese has led. I'm not trying to set you off or anything, I just think that's something you should consider.

After WW2, the Mafia had great leaders such as Carlos Gambino. Compared, Gotti, like Trump, overplayed his hand. By 'great', I mean business skills rather than thugery. But the Mafia is the past and the Latin American cartels the present and future because Hispanics have a large street presence and the USA's thinks it can win the Drug War like it won in Vietnam and Afghanistan. I like Michael Franzese because he is an adept student of Power yet also a 'peacier' rather than warrior- a consigliari. Unfortunately, the Mafia mostly has lost these and became stuck with dumb psychotics...

As amazing as it would and might be, I dare to doubt that Michael himself might be interested in that idea. Remember he related in other video that when his character was introduced in the movie Goodfellas, he and his wife left the cinema. Like it or not, this is the class of people that used to run America. Tough, but fair. It's tragic what's become of organized crime today. It's all corporations, hands-off business. Between the mayors of big cities like Chicago and the president, it's a circus, and nothing works right. The streets are a mess and community organizers and their little armies are the muscle, while cops stand by with their hands in their pockets. Nowadays people aren't afraid of the mafia, they're afraid of the feds, the most powerful criminal outfit in the world.

Never ever be disrespectful, try avoiding unnecessary arguments you may trigger something bigger then you. I was born in the 60’s in a big industrial town in Norther Italy and in those days mafia started to develop its business We were kids and it was inevitable to confront at times with gangs. The first lesson we were told was exactly what you told Jerry. Keep low profile, If someone provokes you, bite your tongue and get away before you finds yourself in big trouble. Great life lesson Mike You did the right thing. 200%, and probably Jerry will never know he was jut an inch away to go upstairs and meet St Peter. Thank you for sharing your experience with us

Rahab lied to protect the two Israelite spies in Jericho and the Bible never reprimands her for it. So even though telling the truth is honorable, the value of human life is greater.
@The_Scouts_Code

Regarding Rahab, the argument from silence is a fallacy. Ananias and Saphira were executed by God himself for lying - and they were operating under the new covenant, as Christians. If the value of human life was greater than truth, the wages of sin would not be death.
@zamiel3

@@The_Scouts_Code "Christians" aren't under a "new Covenant". God made no promise, of a new Covenant with anyone, other than the house of Israel, and Judah. This idea of a "new Covenant" for Christians, is a fallacy, not supported by the teachings of Jesus, or the OT.

To sit and listen, and to hear the way things were in the mafia, from someone that was there, is truly eye-opening. My father was a decorated policeman, and the reason he left the police force, is because of all the corruption. He was one of the few, honest cops. Three years after he left, the whole force that he was part of, went down and all went to jail. I would rather trust the word of a made guy, than a man in a uniform with a badge, that is corrupt. Keep the stories coming, Michael, they really do give us a grand insight in to that life! Cheers mate from Australia

@@billhughes1170 I like the guy and it had to be something powerful to pull the man out of the life. What I've read, love of a good woman and a new set of rules. Maybe he didn't want to do 50 years in jail too. The fact the supports the most Machiavellian President in US history is a bit strange, but his not the only Christian that has been hoodwinked by the man happier to pay way more tax in China than the US. I for the life of me can not see how evangelicals would think the God would approve of 45 he's in the other end of righteous and his policies are not good for families, allowing Vivid to run rapid, betraying Allied nations, blackmailing the President of an Ally at war with Russia by with holding needed military support, the list goes on and on. I don't get Michael Franceze's support of 45, I get him being a conservative and Republican but supporting that man, 45 Ha if he wants to do the righteous thing vote for Biden and relook at his performance in 2024. Then hopefully the GOP will have a normal, honest, hardworking, candidate Maybe I'm being a tad harsh but I really don't think a born again story makes a good video game.
