Quitting school for his living, i have only seen in movies but what would have been the mindset as a child ARR, when he had to do it. Just tears when i was watching this. But he also has a strong mindset of "never settle" a core value in him has pushed him to learn more and aspire his passion towards music and become a world class musician and a Oscar winner. So much to learn from him and its just not alone the music. He is a real Gem of India❤.

Rahman will always be THE music composer for me. He is someone who transcends language, borders and eras. Its crazy how his songs from 90s can be played now and now one will realize its that old. I got to know him through Vande Mataram and Dil se, and I am still a fan. I should add I am from Pakistan and wish to listen to him live someday.

As beloved Sir A R Rahman's mother said that she cried listening to his first film music, I'd like to say that even today, now, I'm crying listening to that music!! I pray to God, Rahman sir should compose unlimited for the years to come. I was born when Rahman sir was introduced to films by Mani sir and the beauty is I still live in his era which is the best memory of I'd recall on my deathbed!

AR had difficult childhood than we know and he don't want to talk about.His father was well known musician in Kerala, sudden death of father put his family in despair. Some musicians as they were going near by his home decided to visit his family found they were in poverty. So they decided rent some musical instruments from them. Not because did not get musical instruments as rent. Just wanted to help anyway they can. When A. R / dileep was introduced to play keyboard he was small boy and nobody liked it except the music director arjun master who insisted he be with us.That gave him foundation to music composing and cos hardwork now he is legend.

Before he was AR Rahman, he was know as "A S Dileep kumar" who worked for multiple music directors as a keyboard artist. Later, his sister was diagnosed with some disease, which was not able to treat in any hospital as per his family/friends. Then, he was told to take his father to some Dargah nearby, where he was asked to accept Islam if his sister recovers from the disease. Whether he was forced to convert or asked to convert u shud look back to the religious invasion & reputation...

😮 Wow..100 th episode already and it’s two years almost since I’ve been ever waiting this! Many thanks 🙏 to O2 india for putting all the efforts and going all out to cover so many unknown and beautiful insights about our musical 🎵 mozart AR Rahman! 💯This century episode too is special where I almost heard for the first time certain things about Rahman’s childhood, his meet with MJ among others. I could relate exactly to Rahman when he says how almost nothing has changed in that place he had lived his childhood in Madras. I too felt the same nostalgia when I visited some of my favourite and most lived n loved places in Vizag 5 yrs ago after 25 years! 💡However, I thought that Rahman and MJ collaborated over an album long back but it’s only in the pipeline back then that never really took off unfortunately as Arr described it. Still, the way MJ treated him so dearly is all the more special and a huge sigh of recognition for our Indian artistes and music! The way Rahman planned the meet after his Oscar-win made it all the more special!! 👏👏
