LIFE UPDATE: Department of Homeland Security, Willa's Viral Birthday Party + How I'm managing... 

I’m so glad people showed up for Willa. That’s amazing. I can definitely relate to those feels. This happens a lot in the neurodivergent community. People don’t see kids with intellectual disabilities as active members of the classroom and a big part of their kid’s socialisation. So most of the time our kids don’t have people show up. One year a mom told me she was surprised I was having a party. Another year a mom told her son he could not attend because my kid needed specialised education which meant he was a problem kid and she didn’t want that rubbing off on her son. They were our next door neighbours. I love that you did the interviews. Kindness does deserve recognition. And it could inspire others to be more kind. Every kiddo deserves a village, especially on their birthday. 🖤

Thank you for the progress portion. I have a daughter in the NICU right now and things are moving very slowly but at least we are making progress and hopefully soon she will be home!

There are sweet people left in the world. So sweet for them to show up at a little girls birthday party when they didn’t even know her.

I was terrified that that was going to happen at my 5 year olds forst party. Thankfully her school friends have amazing parents that really go out of their way include kids in their play groups. It had to be heartbreaking to see it unfold.

This happened to me on my eighth birthday party, I invited all of my friends and classmates and no one came and I cried all night in my room. My mom tried real hard to get me out of my room. Still makes me sad to this day

It always amazes me how people can be trolls online, but literally don’t have the balls to come and do it in your face. I’m sorry people have no lives and had to make yours miserable. It is really sad. Also people need to be careful, you never who you are messing with. Good for you for pushing through Lex. If you’re ever in Las Vegas again I live here near Henderson /Inspirada and I have two granddaughters that are close to sawyer and close to Willa and Sawyers age. We could have a play date!
