Hello! Feels like a long time since the last episode. In the mid of January, we left Arny at the dog hotel since we had a flight to Russia. In this episode, I am going to take you through the journey and share with you the first meeting after 12 days of separation.
There was a problem related to the separation. The hotel owner shared with us the critical issue we now have to fix:
This is the second time Arny in this hotel, but this time the dog experienced more severe separation anxiety. Each time he was near the door through which I went away, he was trying to escape like crazy. For the night dogs were kept separately in small private rooms and Arny cried, barked during the night. It was too hard for Arny to be alone.
Luckily, he ate and drank well. But every night it was a nightmare. Thanks to the hotel owners they took care of him.
For now, I can say that it is important to work on the problem of separation anxiety and show Arny a way to feel comfortable without us. Time-to-time, anyway, there will be cases when we are unable to take Arny with us for several days. And he should feel confident enough without us. It will preserve his health and make it much easier for people who take care of the dog during our absence. I know that this is our fault and first of all we - owners - have to fix the issue. We will work on it, let’s see how it will go.
