U almost die then you got no moment to thank u bc of confusion. I was in same place and still regret that I couldn't say thanks to him bc I was confused about what just happened.
@@uk3994 You got out from dying and being confused, then see ur family. It is when the realisation hit and starts to process what happened exactly. Seeing lifeguards which are strangers and seeing ur FAMILY are different. Yea the person got rescued from video might be just idiot who doesnt know how to thank but also can be just confused person who just saw family from dying. Dont judge someone in accident like that. Their head doesnt work logically like u watching youtube video in ur room
I was one of the first female lifeguards in 72, and when I made a couple of rescues of guys, after they got the torpedo buoy they would complain that they couldn’t be rescued by a female. I just slid the harness of the buoy off and threw it at them, and waited for them to reconsider their decision, which they always dids.

I am also learning swimming these days in river😅from my friends who know well...I was nearly drowned some days ago as I was trapped in a small whirlpool but I went underwater and somehow escaped😣. Can you advice me to how well lifeguards swim in huge waves? I have difficulty in swimming in deep water. I cannot manage to lift my head above water for more time. Sorry for so much questions 😅 but I think no one, better than a lifeguard, can give me tips.
@@newtuber6556 I am almost 70 now. If you encounter big waves you dive under them and come up on the other side. If you want to stay on top of the water, don’t just lift your head out. Tip your head all the way back and your body will come up. You’ll end up floating on your back.
Was sponging the wedge little smaller then this ,went over the falls lost both Churchill's and was heading to the back scratcher. I s struggled and struggled and struggled. Just to see guard rapping it up with some hottie at the shore. And tells me bet u won't do that again.

Don't ignore safety warnings, when you have to be rescued, you put your rescuer in danger too!. The beach is such a lovely place to be, but if you ignore water safety warnings and shark warnings, you can expect trouble!. Don't be an idiot, don't poop the party, stay safe near water! :)
Am I missing something? Looked like a body surfer stuck in a rip, guard tows him in, then no acknowlegement from either one. I thought maybe lost fins or injury but no obvious problem on the beach.
Did that for 3 summers. Most too embarrassed to thank you. Did have 1 family bring me a shirt. I girl went out with me. Thankless summer job. Had it's benefits
