Ugh! This is the 2nd time I've seen them use the epipen wrong! He didn't pull the rear cover off, so this guy did not get any medicine. They need yearly training on using them.
I was wondering why he was delaying the administration, making the patient worse, fast, but then I saw he didn't know what he was doing! Well intended, though.
Being Canadian, I don’t notice ANY difference in accent between the Bondi boys and Harrison from NewZ… you all have an accent as far as I’m concerned and the funniest part is you probably think I’m the one with the accent, which I know I do cuz of all the aboots that come outta my mouth…
Not sure what those ladies were thinking when taking off with the Christmas chocolates. Were they actually convinced that they could take the whole box?
He did not administer that Epipen! Failed to remove the blue top safety cap (blue ti sky, orange to the thigh), which meant the needle didn’t deploy (no click) and no epinephrine was administered. Had he done it properly. The orange bit would have extended after deployment to cover the needle. Shocking.
@@miabartini6056it is not all acting. Not at all actually. And the lifeguards should be trained to use the epipen. It’s not that hard, but has to be done correctly to work
@leya2215 and, unfortunately, it isn't taught in many places or isn't re-taught properly. Many people fail to administer it correctly (not pulling the blue cap on the back end, pushing on the needle end with their own hand by accident, not holding it the proper 5-10 seconds- which would cover all the autoinjectors I know of regardless of the varied minimum times needed). The practice pens are a helpful tool but not perfect (especially with reinforcing the noise and the time to hold) and not readily available for several training programs I know of (several first aid certification trainings I've done, the Trainer either didn't have one or was using their personal trainer from their own epipen). The lack of education on the different common types also causes a LOT of confusion.
There has been other occassions as well where the lifeguards have not used it correctly… I really hope they have improved their training on the epipen since then so everyone gets familiar with it… This time it thankfully went well but other times, it can be the reason between life and death
I know this episode is old, so I gotta know: Did they ever put something at the skate bowl that makes it easier to get out? Even just a rope ladder or something?
