I remember growing up and listening to my dad always play this song on guitar for my mom as an apology after his drinking bouts. My mom would always play it on repeat when he was deployed. After they divorced I'd hear them play it on and off over the years and cry. Though their better off apart, I still love this song. Some days I laugh, cry, or just smile and hope I'll fall for someone just as stupidly too.
That's actually a beautiful memory of your parents love for each other. The fact that they still listen to it and it gives them pause just proves that real love never goes away.
