Lifesharing volunteer Xavier McLeod received a kidney transplant when he was just a toddler. He has thrived ever since, graduating from Mt. Miguel High School in San Diego in 2022. Donate Life California chose Xavier to serve as their designated rider on the 2023 Donate Life Rose Parade Float. In preparation for the parade, Xavier and his mother Valerie James dedicated a rose to the organ donor who saved Xavier’s life. During the dedication, they wrote a personal message to hero Sam McCrow. Their message will be carried on the float during the parade. They both had so much gratitude to express, that they almost ran out of room….
