I have endometriosis, esophageal atresia (I was born without my esophagus formed and have intestine to create one for me), dextrocardia, and I have gastroparesis and can say that I was on fentanyl, dilaudid, domperidone, valium, benadryl (because of hives form the narcotics), feeding tubes, TPN (IV nutrition) and many more meds I don't even remember. It's been a LONG road of chronic pain and nausea but I am on a whole foods plant based low fat and no oil lifestyle and have not been on tube feeds, tpn, or any medications since 2015ish. I have been able to replace all those meds and many more with cannabis and this diet lifestyle change. It truly is a life saver. My Yale surgeons have said flat out I'd never eat by mouth again and here I am, eating many fruits, veggies, rices, grains, etc. It really does work.

Excellent discussion. Thank you so much. Lifestyle change is needed from early age to avoid heart problems and any other diseases. Prevention is better than cure. Regular breathing exercises, meditation, staying joyful will go long way. 🙏🙏

Kudos to insurers for covering this program. Wise decision. If just a fraction of our population followed this diet most doctors would be unemployed.

As much as I respect Dr. Dean Ornish this comes across more as an infomercial then a discussion ..

@@josh021588 LOL he is 64 at that point. How many people are not having this kind of chin at that age without surgery? He is also an academic, not even an athlete or something. Apparently you have no idea what is a healthy look for a 60+ guy. Please enlighten us, how do healthy people look at 64?

@Brate Zoran Plenty of people eating animal products (red meat) that look like they’re in there 30s when they’re 64 years old

I have symptoms of left arm and shoulder numbness, palpitations,little fatigue, chest pains, very slight dizziness, and maybe high blood pressure since it gets up there at rest. Im only 17. Ive always been a top class athlete and appear fit but when i started working at 16 i ate delicious greasy pizza almost every day and sometimes an energy drink. This lasted for about 5 months until i quite. Im now 17 and had my first symptoms a week ago. Ive started doing moderate exercise. And started eating healthy. Can i still eat salmon? And what diet is recommended.

"At whatever time highly-skilled physicians shall have developed the healing of illnesses by means of foods, and shall make provision for simple foods, and shall prohibit humankind from living as slaves to their lustful appetites, it is certain that the incidence of chronic and diversified illnesses will abate, and the general health of all mankind will be much improved. This is destined to come about." ~ 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Baha'i Faith

I believe a plant based diet is the best way to go and Dr Ornish has been a great advocate for this diet. However, He really damaged his credibility when he stated Dr Atkins died from heart disease. Actually Dr Atkins died from an epidural hematoma from blunt force trauma when he fell. If someone knows otherwise please let me know...
@meman6964
@meman6964 3 года назад
@Daniel, I heard Dr Ornish in a different speech, say Dr Adkins died from slip on ice, land on head... but his autopsy found heart with many blockage, so, perhaps Adkins was having a heart event that caused him to fall and hit his head.
