An axle dust cap for a trailer might be the ticket for your center cap. They make all kinds of sizes. Moog makes some great u joints. I bet they have good idler arms as well. Your van is looking good.
Have your machinist pal turn a cap with an OD matching the ID of the wheel and a threaded hole in the back to screw right onto the axle. Spin it on and your done, only have to remove it to remove the axle nut! :)
I bought my van for $980 and it had a brand new $140 battery and brand new $645 mud and snow tires . In the van was a repair estimate for $3600 to do everything but what was wrong with it( fuel Injection ) all new from eBay $210 but a bitch to put in. My point is learn to work on your Astro or go broke😁
Thanks for video. I have 2 inch lift but I trimmed a lot both front and rear wheel arks . So I assume I should fit similar tyres . what about width, dont you have any issues with rubbing front suspension parts when turn whee all way to one or another side? Please advise. Because I was recommended not to go wider than 235 on stock 16 inch rims
Wheels look good, can't go wrong with reliable oem. I built and installed the poly engine mounts after watching your vid on that and they got me off the diff and no vibes, very pleased with that upgrade. I'm lifted around 6" and chasing a vibration at 70 mph. How's your van feel around 70?
I had a vibration around 65 mph - turned out to be the front passenger side wheel hub assembly... Shop around for a good deal - I think Rock Auto may have a good price on the ACDELCO
How are the airbags in the rear? I am getting rubbing when I am off-road Mainly going up hill. I removed the plastic crap from in front of the right rear tire.
6 Lugs?! Those are 3/4 ton Wheels ?! Did you just get 3/4 spindles and rotors also ? _ That's kinda epic if you did! _ You've probly already long fixed this by now? About self destructing 'Idler Arm' grease bulb'_Besides possibly being Over Tightend? Maybe remove it' then file/grind' any scratchy flashing burrs? _ Then take a 'New' replacement Idler arm' and Lubricate the out side of rubber boot with whatever stays on' yet doesn't eat the rubber bulb? Now here's the 'Give it a try part' Use a Anti Corrosion battery pad' slathered in whatever grease works best ? In between the two parts' 'Could be a lucky 'go for it' Black Jack Winner?! If not ? _ not out much' Thank for a great video' Safety and Blessings Always😶🇺🇸👍
@@AstroVanTribe First ever heard of that option? Do You think those 'option' parts Would retro fit to an 98' LS 2wd passenger? That would be the cats meow right there! 🏞🚐🌦
@SpiritZweiSpirit1st no, this is common knowledge, they weren't options, upgrades, the third generation Astros, those last three years all have these things
