Another large advantage being inside if you are in a cold climate you could be in a heated shed so you don't have to winterize system and re commissioning cost in spring! Cheers Warren

can you please make a video showing all the technical bits underneath the boat such as the propellers, rudders, bow thruster, and intakes, transducers etc?

This would be a great time to explain why they are tapping on the hull. The type of bottom paint and how t work’s. And the stabilizers. And why they are there.

This weekend our 34 footer is getting hauled for the winter with a travelift that is a weeeeee bit smaller. Only a 30 ton capacity.

Tristan, it would be helpful if you procured a wireless microphone for recording; everytime you turn your head away from the camera the volume of your voice drops appreciably. I have noticed this before like when you are maneuvering into a mooring, just a suggestion to improve the quality of your interesting videos.

Not that this matters one bit but I was on a cruise in the Med in November & just checked my diary. On the 6th November I was on a bus tour to the Leaning Tower of Pisa from the cruise Port at Livorno & recall seeing Yachts on the left from the bus. I thought at the time, how did they get so far from the coast to be there. Now I know, up a canal. Not only that but now I also know who was there. If I'd known then I would have waved.

In your down time and for a future post, information on the flags and procedures with the Q flag and arriving at port would be very interesting, many know about flying the respectful flag upon entering waters but with crew and guests on board, it will be interesting to know the process of arriving at port and international rules.

Propspeed is epic stuff, lasted 3 seasons on my Azimut, whereas a boatyard convinced me to use Velox and it is crap.

You have to face your camera while you are narrating - either that or do voice over while editing. Second, you did not explain the rattatting. The guy was soulnding the hull for voids and blisters which occur in FRP vessels. Remember that when speaking to your camera you must face it or get a mike clipped to your shirt or some place that will give consistent sound. These electronic cameras are convenient but brainless. You have to consider sun angle and the light/dark ratios when filming. and Auto iris jumps around when face on to the sun, reflections or other bright lights. Thanks for the vids, nice job. I'm a yacht detailer and I coat lots of yachts in storage units very similar to those. You should do the Super Structure as well. Or let me and my guys come do it for you. I'd love to put my name on Awol.

Is that a 500 MT Travelift? It reminds me of the Travelift in Newport, RI, USA. (16 wheels) It's fun to watch the operator walking around with his Remote Control Box hanging around his neck looking for things that might not be to his liking. I live on a lake and the biggest Travelift we have is about 40 tons and the operator rides on the Travelift.

Tristan, just because you are talking doesn't mean the camera has to be on you. For viewers, they want to see what's happening and every time you turn, or turn the camera, the picture is all over the place. Give us a steady shot and talk in the background with ocassional shots of you if you think it necessary.

Hello Tristan, You should know I have watched your entire vlog with much pleasure and I think you are doing a super job. I have been a guest aboard a (not quite super-, 26m) yacht for many years. Your recommendations on treatment of the boat are generous, in the video there is no visible barnacle-contamination and yet you have it cleaned and ceramic-coated. What do you charge guests in order to keep this up? You never seem to worry about costs, which, even for me, is hard to swallow. Let this not deviate you from your great work, it seems the owner can afford it. Please let it not be a Russian or an Arab.

What are the tapping along the hull for?

You should tell people what the guy was doing with the hammer when he was tapping on the hull.I know because I work around Marinas and it's for finding delamination or soft spots in the fiberglass.

I’ve seen boats hauled out after being in the water for a month with more growth. Goes to show, use top grade products and actually enjoying the vessel is the way to go.

It looks like the bottom paint held up pretty well. How often do you paint the bottom of AWOL? I could get away with 2 season on Lake Erie. Does the entire crew work on AWOL , Deck, Interior , and Engineering , during the off season . Great video.
