Learn the difference between the different developers in a 30 minute span. The longer you leave it on, the lighter the hair will lift. In this video the hair lifted between a level 8 or 9.
If your going from black to whatever your looking to get safest option for hair health is 20/30. 40 is super strong and can cause a chemical burn or high irritation. Make your bleach the consistency of conditioner and leave it on for about 45 minutes or more. Start at the middle and ends, then after 10 minutes add bleach to the roots. The reason for this being is so the that your roots don’t process quicker then your mids/ends since your scalp produces heat and that speeds up the process 🫶🏾
I loved the way you broke it down with the different levels of developer perhaps next time you can show how to highlight your hair with two different colors of blonde great video thank you
Okay, so what I'm gathering from this is that 20, 30, and 40 volume developers can all achieve the same lift depending on how long you leave them on. Is that right? I always feel rushed when bleaching my hair at home because I thought I had to use a 30 or 40 volume developer for my dark hair. It always processes so fast before I can finish and I'm always scared I'll fry it lol
Stephanie Flores yes pretty much. It all depends on many things. Your hair is way different from hair on tracks so your hair will be lighter if you use 40 volume versus 20 volume. I will not put 40 volume on my hair unless I’m doing a bleach bath.
This was very helpful...I was bleaching a full lace wig ...need to get it quite blonde to dye it pink...to match the color I use in my actual hair. I had a bottle of 30 and a bottle of 20. I use 20 on my hair when I lighten it with a mon bleach product, I was using quick blue bleach on the wig...parted hair into 4 sections...every thing was going well until I got to the 4th section and ran out of 30. So I finished with 20. It's sitting in there waiting...so I started searching videos and came across this. Now I know I don't have to panic on how it will come out. And the second bleaching I'll just use the 20 that I already have instead of running up to Sally's to get more 30. It's very early in the morning and it's a relief to know I don't have to stop and wait for a store to open and go get extra stuff. Thank you. Subbed .
I would have liked to seen different times left on hair. I’ve never lifted my black hair color and want to dye it plum color. I don’t know whether to use 30 or 40 volume. Also you should list what products you used in the description below
@@princessfashionista9697 yeah his expertise isnt in our hair tho so lol. He always looks confused surprised when it comes to 4a-4c. Safe to say he doesnt get many customers that actually look like us. He learns from us lmao then tell us the same shit
Hi. So right now I have black/ red hair like it’s dark and in the sun reflects red hair and I ordered the 30 creme developer and powder, will my hair get light enough to get it a ginger color with dye?
xX-romancexriot-Xx Hey! Yes it definitely will be light enough, as you let it sit. Be sure to wipe a test strand to see how light it achieves OR just bleach a test strand in the back of your hair and apply the ginger color to see if that’s the color you desire. Hope this helps 💗
This was so helpful! Thank you so much 💕 I really hope you stopped leaving the tap running since then! You helped me make a decision on which developer to use!
I love how you are using a comb to stir the bleach and then use the brush to apply it. I never thought of that. I will use that the next time I bleach my hair. I always feel like I have unmixed solution in my brush after I mix it
Hello, so i currently have the 40 developer and i wanted to bleach my wig which is IB but i don’t want it as light, I wanted it more of a honey blonde color and some spots to be a little lighter. Do you have any tips or suggestions on how to achieve this ?
Hey so I'm thinking about dying my wig a burnt orange..which developer do you think would be the best to use? and how long should I keep that developer on the hair?
wcniya ok, so if you’re wig is a dark brown or black color, you need to prelighten it to obtain a burnt orange by using a 30 developer with the lightening powder OR pick a color from L’Oréal hi lights with a 50 volume. It does not require you to bleach it. You have different options. If you decide to prelighten (bleach), do not let it sit long on the hair. Just watch it to make sure it’s light enough for you to achieve your color.
I have level 4/5 brown hair (depending on the chart I look at). I seem to have golden undertones in my hair. I really want to make my hair ginger. I was thinking of using a 20 volume developer and then adding some ginger colour to it. Any tips or ideas? - I’ve never dyed my own hair but I have researched a lot about colouring and bleaching hair.
SoKellz thatnk you so much for this video. I have natural kinky bundles and want to dye them to a honey blonde shade but keep the integrity of the curl pattern. Is it best to use the 40 developer so I can wash it out sooner or should I use the 30 developer?
Caren Dela Cruz I assume you mean strengthening your hair? Yes, you can treat your hair with various things such as deep condition and a protein treatment.
Do you have to mix it with the powder? I went to Sally’s and the employee told me that I could just use the developer to bleach hair.. also she told me to mix the developer with my hair dye but she told me to buy 30 volume even though the box it to use 40... can I still use the 30?
MoMoney Mea I’m not sure what associate told you to do so but you definitely need the powder. The two reacts together. You only mix the developer with hair color if it calls for it -such as permanent hair color and L’Oréal hi lights that’s sold in Sally’s. I use to work there and she misinformed you. Depending on the color, I can’t say if you need 30 or 40.
Kaitlin Brown yeah, but we don’t know which hair grade she has and if it will take with “just” developer. It’s Not even worth the try, just use the bleach powder and developer.
@@itsrickele I have medium to dark brown hair and I want a light ash brown color. I don't want orange hair and I'm concerned about damaging it because last year I got a blond balayage and my hair is very damaged because of that. What volume developer and/or dye should I use to get a light brown shade? 20 volume seems less damaging so could I use 20 vol with a high lift color without the bleach?
Demiii Hey! There are 2 ways you can do it. First, pre-lighten hair with 20 or 30 volume , the lighter, the better the color will appear. Your hair is only damaged because you may have not done a DEEP conditioning treatment afterwards. If you’re doing it at home, pre-lighten the first day and deep conditioning then apply your hair color the next day as well as a deep condition. The second way is too check out l’oreals hi light colors that is a single process. All you have to do is mix the hair color with 40/50 volume and boom, you have your color- that’s only if they have the color you’re looking for. Whatever you do, just remember to DEEP CONDITION!
I actually want to do highlights on my hair by myself. I wanna bleach and then dye the highlights, also I've done highlights two times before in a parlor(but they weren't satisfactory).... So I have a question, do I have to use a toner after bleaching? And what do I have to mix the dye with? My hair is really dark brown with faded blonde highlights
When you're bleaching be careful to not overlap on your previous blonde highlights or they might melt off. If you bleach it to the lightness you want, you then can use toner to bring it darker or to the colour you want (eg. to go platinum you need to be at a pale yellow and then use an ash colour like wella t18 or if you want more caramel highlights go for something in a level 8 that has some golden tones). Hair buddha, ellebangs, and brad mondo have some great videos that explain toning more. good luck
my hair is pretty thick and curly but not too curly I just wanna know how many scopes of the powder will I need? and it also reaches right above my chest.
I’m new at this and I’m trying to dye my hair like this light purple and my hair is dark brown do I have to apply The 30 volume thing and for it to get it lighter how much do I leave it in my hair
swagturtle6 you have to leave it for 30 mins and if you want it more brighter keep doing the same thing back an forth until you get the results you want
Hello. You want that blue vibrant so I would definitely bleach your hair first in steps. Sometimes the hair color will not lift on its on especially if its a semi-permanent. I would bleach then color.
hi ! i am using the salon care prism lites violet and salon care volume 30 to bleach my hair. i will not be dyeing it after, so is this a good idea? do u have an idea of how it might come out, color-wise ? thank you !
jeslyn grace Hey! And Goodmorning! Before you bleach it try adding olaplex or Ion absolute perfection to the mix to prevent damage. What look are you trying to achieve?
SoKellz Beauty Channel hi ! thank you for replying. i would like to go for a blonde, and im kinda okay if its a bit orange. but im unsure of if it’ll come out that way or if itll come out brown.
jeslyn grace Since you are using the violet powder it will cancel out the orange tones. Yes it will turn blonde but if it’s not the correct level of blonde, you can apply toner on it afterwards. Just carefully bleach it or do a bleach bath if you’re doing all over. Make sure to deep condition.
Jennifer Gonzalez Ok. For a bright color as such, I would perform bleach bath. Once before I did one myself for a sky blue color. You need quick blue lightening powder, 30 or 40 (for the lightest), 2 tablespoons of condition, 1 tablespoon of shampoo, 1 tablespoon of water. Mix all together and shampoo into your hair, let sit for about 20-25 minutes, check a strand of hair to see if it’s light, if not let sit no more than 10 minutes more. Once process is over, rinse out, perform a deep condition with shampoo cap. Let your hair rest, apply the light purple the next day all over, perform a deep conditioning.
came across your comment on how to get to a pastel purple! I had that hair color and ended up going to dark purple but I also have medium brown thick hair and all I used was 20 volume with wella powder lightener and left it for 30 min and my hair was completely bleached than I conditioned it but do not brush it afterwards when drying because this can pull out and damage your hair and you can apply the color whenever you feel comfortable applying it depending how you feel after bleaching, also if your looking for some dye healthy for you hair check out artic fox! Goodluck with dying your hair if you haven’t already!☺️
Cyntrix depends on the level of your hair currently. If you’re a level 1 trying to reach a level 10 (lightest blonde) you will need to let it sit 20-25 minutes.
In my opinion, I would go to a professional for a platinum blonde. People I know to achieve that color used 40 volume but TONS of deep conditioning. After they bleach their, they use the purple shampoo (shimmer lights or other companies) to give it that platinum look.
i know you probably won’t respond, but im thinking about dying my hair with a semi permanent dye. i have natural black hair, but i had caramel brown balayage back in 2018 from a salon and you can’t see the brown anymore. what developer would you recommend me to use to lighten my hair?
Hey I bleach my bundles for 35 minutes and it really didn’t lift the natural black hair I need help because I really want to achieve purple ombré color please and thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
rita mcfarlane hey! What was your process? Which volume you used? I recommend using 613 bundles for a light color as purple but it is possible to achieve with dark hair.
Trashonda Bernard when I use to work at the sally beauty store, I had a young lady with same issue except she was transitioning to red from a blue color. So what you can do is buy a color strip kit by Argan oil that Sally’s sale online and go from there OR proceed with a bleach bath , add oil in it or olaplex to eliminate damaging your hair. Either process will work just fine .
