@@mcgarry2588 I mostly get off at Avenue X because I go to a bowling alley over there, but when it hits the Coney Island yard, it goes into the next stop at Neptune Avenue, that’s where the incident began.
watching this operation makes me realize how hard it must've been to re rail the 1 train in the confined space of the subway tunnel, especially without the use of a crane like the one they used on the elevated also looks like they have some work to do to rebuild the catwalk
@@richiebee1984well it wasn’t just rerailing the train, but actually making repair on the train. trucks were delivered and they had to replace trucks in the tunnel.
I kinda figured that I'm familiar with the airbags we have them on my ladder truck that I worked on just didn't imagine they'd be strong enough to lift a 80,000 lb train@@richiebee1984
A subway car weighing 85,200 pounds needs a heavy duty crane. I enjoyed watching this. Whoever posted this video made my day. Thank goodness the catwalk prevented what could of being a disaster.
The recent derailments is what made the start of this year 2024 sour and rough. I’m glad to see that the MTA has come to terms towards ensuring that everything, including their resources, is under control
I'm so glad I was over at Pitkin Yard today and not at Coney Island Yard. I'm a TSS, and I would have definitely been called in early to help deal with this mess. Thank God the crew and passengers are safe.
Mta need to remove Dispatchers , ATDs Tower operators that wanna be listening to radios and music all loud , get upset when they need to do their job instead of playing spades/ cards while on duty . I’m gonna be such a whistle blower tired of TOs and train crews getting blamed for everything . These superintendent and line superintendent’s better be on their best behavior I’m gonna start a channel exposing all that I see.
@@BeyondDestiny yea it split but it’s holding you think fiberglass is stronger than wood first mistake second mistake is that fiberglass is called the catwalk can you guess why they call it the catwalk ?
@@mikec.8556 Did you watch the video? Tell me you watched it and still think wood is structurally stronger than fiberglass. Not showing a lot of intelligence over there
I’m really surprised they didn’t separate the carriages and move them away even if only a little way. Make it easier to do the single without the others attached or have they and I just can’t see it?
Ok. What's next, the express gets derailed because it veered off from the express track? Hopefully, this is the last, or many questions will start flying.
it does feel a bit rough between queens Boro and 33rd st maybe that's next, like I don't want it to happen obviously but this year is fckin crazy so far
Dude this is hella weird, two derailments in a week is NOT NORMAL. Someone has some massive explaining to do because the MTA does track work daily, and this is mad weird. Be careful riding that subway, the bus might be a better option ngl
In this case it appears that the fault was with the running gear on the train not the track itself. The MTA does inspect tracks regularly to keep them in good condition and derailments in passenger service are not a frequent occurrence. The other derailment on the 1 line was due to operational errors not any fault of the track either.
they're always wrong when it comes to details like that. in one video they even state they don't know in what direction the train was heading to. Their fckin officials on the news and can't even tell small simple details like that! it's annoying
it is not very good that the metro works around the clock, either corruption, or there is no time to repair the tracks, there will be a gathering with people at high speed, heads will fly from the posts
@@med7870 also, this was from a train overheating or some shit. Not a derailment per say. It’s just bad maintenance. These R160s aren’t new cars anymore!
Scary i was on the F train from jay st to stillwell on new years eve and for some reason F train sat at the station before stillwell for 20 mins before leaving

Or invest in an E-bike or scooter. Sure there's a high chance of it getting stolen, but at least you won't have to worry about busting through the ceiling when a train derails.😂
The recurring incidents of subway trains derailing in New York City prompt a complex examination of several contributing factors. Aging infrastructure, insufficient maintenance, and delayed upgrades are key elements that collectively strain the reliability of the subway system. The extensive network of tracks and tunnels, some dating back to the early 20th century, faces wear and tear that demands consistent upkeep. Budgetary constraints and bureaucratic hurdles often impede timely repairs and modernization efforts, exacerbating the risk of derailments. Furthermore, the sheer volume of daily commuters places an immense burden on the aging system, leading to accelerated deterioration. A comprehensive and urgent approach is required to address these challenges, involving increased investment in infrastructure, streamlined maintenance processes, and a commitment to prioritize passenger safety. As the city grapples with these recurrent incidents, a concerted effort from both government authorities and transit agencies becomes paramount to ensuring the long-term viability and safety of the subway system in New York City.
Tell that to the mta that has the TO that was operating at 2 broadway for a day then 130 Livingston till the investigation is over as if they don’t know they are dealing with grade A garbage when it come to the subways .
