Lightning reed works insanely well against groups. The chain lightning causes groups to die quicker than individuals because it can go between the zombies to hit all lanes which basically means 1 lightning reed can hit every lane for 125 sun each
tip for Lightning reed: it can be good in mass amounts. I'm talking 2 or 3 rows of them before the last wave. if you can get that set up it can be extremely powerful because the lightning can just chain through all of the zombies
a quick tip for late-game: most plant foods get more powerful as you level up the plant, but pea pod is an exception, so no matter how much you level pea pod up, big bertha isn't gonna be very effective... edit: lightning reed is pretty bad at everything, except killing hordes of weaklings.
Tip for Matt = the Lightning reed plant is a perfect chicken killer for its cheap price and can hit 3 lanes wich is awesome (the plant is sadly underrated).
It’s low damage makes it unusable against stronger zombies, common in the later game. It isn’t underrated, it is hard to fit into your loadout, especially when you could be bringing stronger attackers.
Fun fact: in version 10.8.4 Levitator got buffed so now straight shooting plants e.g. Peashooter can hit zombies being levitated, and it's time until it levitates zombies again has decreased, and it's chance to levitate zombies off the lawn has increased largely as well!
In general it's terrible, most it can do is lift zombies and can actually benefit the zombies and not the plants because when in the air straight shots are evaded and lawnmowers can't kill them

pro tip: in the last video you thaught the thing with weird green balls was bad but it actually is an appease-mint, it boosts all appease-mint plants (the ones with the little peashooter symbol on the top left) also the lightning reed is a good plant when there are ALOT of them planted on your garden since they shoot fast. gooday
Matt you are doing great and I enjoy watching your vids. Some tips to help you on your journey, to easily kill a plain zombie have a single peashooter, for a conehead 2 peashooters and for a bucket head at least 3 peashooters worth of damage. Also I highly recommend avoiding pennys pursuit until you are much further in the game and have many level 5 and up plants. In pennys pursuit you can choose a difficulty and the highest ones would make a normal zombie have to take around 15 hits to die by a level 1 peashooter.
The lightning reed is way better with stall, since it groups up the zombies. Also, having a full row pretty much solves the low single target damage problem, but youre never gonna use it anyway so this is useless

When you’re so early RU-vid hasn’t processed the video fully yet so you need to watch it in 360p. Edit: lightning reeds are really helpful against chickens because of the fact that the electricity transfers between targets. If you ever have trouble with a stage that has chickens, I’d definitely recommend them! A few can go a long way against them. Also fairly good way to damage large crowds of zombies, yet again because of the electricity being transferred between targets. :)
@@diamondmst2335 from experience, RU-vid can take time to fully upload things in 720p or above. It’s often why RU-vidrs will schedule their videos to be uploaded at a specific time; so RU-vid can load it in its highest possible quality before the video goes up.
Matt! The new update makes it able to unlock story mode plants with seed packets! But you can only do it in the choose a plant cause the almanac just says view on map! (If you hit view on map and go to the 1st lvl you can play the world early)
Eletric Pea shooter seemed OP before but now that you have a plant that can literally stall plants by throwing them into the air (AKA Levitater) that combo seems like it could literally beat any level in the game if it were available to you (I doubt it could but it does seem like an incredibly powerful combo)
Penny’s pursuit is basically the hardest mode ever. Later on, with hard difficulties the zombies have incredible health and speed, with new zombies that are harder. Either high level premiums or mastery normal plants will do.
Fun fact I got 2 fun fact the first one is… If you see a flower at the ground put spike weed 2.if you get Sun bean and puff shroom I think and plant food you will get so much suns
tip for lightning reed. spam it. thats all. just put it everywhere and it will be the most op defense ever. AND STOP PUTTING THEM SO CLOSE. THEY HAVE RANGE. also dont use them as meatshields. people who say to do that are non-believers. dont listen to them
When you're so early the best option of quality to watch this video is 360p. Edit: I believe the best type of plants with the levitator is lobbing plants. Watermelon, kernel-pult, etc.
Matt levitater can set up zombies up high and shooting plants can not hit flying zombies but like all of the pult plants can only hit the flying zombies example Cabbage- pult Kernel-pult and Melon-pult and the other pults
Tim you seen that electricity guy he’s my favorite his ability is making a storm cloud he can be really useful he can shoot up to three lanes and he also electrocutes good luck
Hey mat I know A glitch you go into the collection and then go onto an adventure Plante that you don’t have and then it will say View on map And then press it it will teleport you to the map
Every time I see mega gatling pea I get sad because I lost my account and had it also stop using premiums so you can feel the pain of endlessly retrying a level over and over again
Heres a glitch you need 1 plant food then tap on a the leaf then tap on a plant put it anywhere then no plant food will be wasted but BE CAREFUL WITH BOOSTED PLANTS...
hey just a suggestion but the plants you pay for are really op and don't provide any challenge to the game its like if you could have infinite doom shrooms in pvz1 take a page out of wolfy playz book
If you get the upgrade the plant that you don't have is you go to the book and go to the plant and press where the upgrade button and you get the plant
