Is this opener still available in Mexico? If it is that would be pretty cool that you can still get one of the more reliable systems with mechanical limits and RPM force
Very unusual wall button, but how does it attach to a wall? Also, about the timer to close, can it only be 10 seconds, and let's say the timer is set and when the door starts to close, something breaks the sensor beam. Does the door go back up and then try again in 10 seconds or is the timer just turned off? Cool opener considered it looks just like ours in the US
The cover comes off, and there are screws behind it to attach it to the wall. If the door is closing, and something breaks the beam, the timer is turned off until you run the door a cycle...
okay, I would like to ask you a little favor, Whenever you get the chance, could you possibly look at a U.S. Red learn button board, and that Mexico board .. and see if there is some resistor or something? Because if you recall, in your Sears (black case green learn button) with no sensors, the reason for that is because it had a little resistor in between screw terminal 1 and terminal 2. :) So whenever you have a moment, that would be great !! Thanks!!!
any idea how to program a remote without the push button? the house we bought already had this liftmaster installed without push button. I did plug in a couple of jumper wires and was able to open, stop, close it. But how may I simulate the learn button press to program a new remote?
The repairman miraculously appeared one day when I was out on the garden, offered his services and I said yes please! I asked him if I could buy from him one of those push buttons he carries around, and accepted. I then realized the 2 second handed push button he was selling me had a broken button. I brought this up and asked if I could still keep it for free so that I could repair it and he was fine with it. So I desoldered the broken button from the circuitry and added a new one I bought for a DIY project. Works like a charm! I can now program any remote. These people think of the push button as their gold mine, a big chunk of their business is *not* to install it because that way customers can keep calling them to "program" their door opener. So they easily charge a fee each time a person wants to add a new control. My advice would be to call any of these repair shops and ask them to sell the push button. I did this with at least 6 shops and they priced the "service" anywhere from $40 to $80. Good thing I rejected the "bargains" until this other guy showed up.
I bought the programming button online for about $20 and configuring the controllers was super easy. It's sad that they don't install the button on purpose just to get money from you for something that would have been easy in the first place. Thanks for sharing your experience José Pablo.
