In this video we go over how to gradually light an object on fire using fuel. How to cover an object with fuel using either pFlow or tyFlow and what are the advantages of each.
We use the V-Ray Distance texture to modulate the fire opacity based on a distance to a certain object and the Phoenix Grid texture reading the Speed channel to get the fastest part of the fire.

very useful, thanks! everyone here is enjoying the fire being simulated and render too? :) edit. I thought because the title that you will (fake?) light the object based on the fire, using some vraydistance and grid channel trick!!

ah, while this is a nice idea - it will be slower to render this way :) The Phoenix fire lights are doing great job in most cases.

please make a video teach us how to do liquid really sticking. Like a rain drop sticking at the lowest tip of a leaf, without falling down. (no viscosity)

ah, that's a tricky one - maybe you can use a Particle Tuner that lowers the velocity of the liquid based on a distance to a certain object (the leaf). Thanks for the idea!

Very nice! I will try to replicate this in Blender.

Nice to see my old speed-channel-opacity-modulation shading trick used again 🙏
