This would be good too with the Greek syrup we use on other desserts. It's water, sugar, honey, clove, cinnamon sticks and orange.

thanks for sharing this delicious treat. I tried this for my family yesterday and it was a hit. I even made one today and added strawberries, mango's and 2tbs of sugar and wormed it in the stove and drizzled it on the heated pastry and it was so delicious.

Do NOT let it cool. It’s a totally different desert. Pour the hot ( not boiling is fine) liquid on the, right out of the oven, hot pastry. It is not just a glaze over the top. It needs to soak in to be its best. The bottom, after soaking for at least several hours, or over night better, will be ooey gooey delicious. It’s downright orgasmic.

It’s literally only a cup of sugar. You don’t even have to add the glaze on top. There are worse recipes out there.
