Word. My teachers use to complain that when they were students, they had to draw and paint all day, and how lucky we are that we are taught only how to be artsy and sell the crap out of shit pieces of art. Just an example, I got a 9/10 (equivalent to an A in the US) on an assignment that was just a 20x10 cm piece of plywood I found on the floor 30 minutes before the class started. Didn't paint on it, didn't alter it in any way. But I sold it, and they bought it.
I just found your channel, and your 10 minute series has changed the way I see art and composition. Thank you so so SO much for all the hard work and love you put into your videos. You explain very clearly, concisely, and you look like you have so much fun, it makes me want to immediately start drawing myself. Keep up the fantastic work!
Honigball Wait... you are Honigball! I remember you. You were the first let's player I ever watched! And then you did art videos called "Kritzelpixel" :D Those were cool, I'm going to check if you uploaded any new ones since I lost track of your channel. It's really awesome to see an artist, I looked up to years earlier, seek the same art advice as me now. (Not that I like your art less nowadays. It's more that my own painting style has changed since then and I am now longer trying to "copy" your style. :) )
Oh hello! :D The WWW is a small place sometimes! XD I started an artchannel for my painting stuff a while ago. So it is no longer mixed with my gameplaye videos :D
Okay, from everything I expected, this was _very_ surprising in a positive way! I love a lot of your current projects and it's somehow surprising, but also fitting pretty well to see you here :D Wow, now this is even a bigger motivation for me than it was before... holy xD incredible how fast the mood to drawing can come up
Man, this is good. I've used endless sources to approach and understand value, and in 10 minutes it's clearer than it's ever been. Incredible. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
Five years later I am watching this series again and I even more love it! Marco, you are my master. To be able to refresh my understanding and further develop my skills is wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your insights and wisdom. 💛
I love that your videos are so expressive. Both the way you speak, your intonation, the way you make jokes but also the way you edit the videos. Thank you for that!
I am so happy I stumbled into your videos and after having watched some of the basic for becoming a better painter I have also looked at my own paintings with new eyes - it is truly inspiring -
I started working for a company as a dritigitsl artist, 2 months ago. All thing im not shire hoe to fix i turn to your chenaal and in the last stafmeating i got complimentig my rapid improovmet in qaulity of my work. An all thant to tour videos! Thank tou very much sri! Much love from Latvia
Hey Marco, your series of videos on 10 Minutes to Better Painting is the best resource on RU-vid to understand the basic nuances as well as the overall big picture of painting. Thank you for making these!!
This is by far the best explanation of value and planes I have ever encountered. EVER, that's saying something! Thanks Prof Bucci, you are making us all a little smarter with every video!
Thank you for making these amazing tutorials! My confidence in digital painting has grown, and I now find it incredibly enjoyable! I'm still new to it all, but, so far, the difference between my work before and after is clear. Thank you again for these concise videos!
wow seriously, i dont comment much, i just happened to find your videos, amazing!!! educational with really solid information, very humorous, and extremely good explanations and made things easy to understand!!!!! amazing, I dont know how you could be so knowledgeable and experienced in these as well as be so good at making these ideas to explain and make them so funny with good comedy gaps and stuff!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks :) To address that last part, I've been teaching for over 10 years, and have always been a film-lover. So my painting lessons have had time to evolve, enough for them to be distilled down to clear examples. Then I just plug that into some classic storytelling/filmic beats, and boom, you have this RU-vid series :) All the best!
Ze _Jeff thanks Jeff, yeah, it’s nice to use master art as a kind of target. A big part of my learning has always been putting my own work up against those standards, and working like mad on the areas that fall short of the mark.
Oh wow, oh wow, oh wowowowowow. This tutorial was so well put together. You have effectively strengthened my fundamentals in the matter of minutes and now I'm hooked! For the first time I feel like I'm having fun while learning the more "technical" side of painting, something which I've been struggling with for so long. Honestly I came here because I was having trouble rendering using the AO method, and I thought a quick tutorial would get me into shape, but now I feel like watching your whole '10 minute series' instead! Sorry for rambling, but I'm just so blown away by how much I learned. Thanks Marco. You earned a loyal subscriber. Please keep doing what you do!! It really helps little aspiring artists like me who want to be as amazing as you in the future. Much love!
thank you sooo much for all your videos they really lay out such a helpful foundation for all that comes after in a way that makes me focused on what's important. it simplifies and gives me information that i never even imagined of ways to look at things i've always known. they really helped me the most with my painting. i am eternally grateful
Just want to say you are the best RU-vid artist I ever found! I watched many art tutorials on RU-vid, but most of them were not helpful for me. Marco, you're really the best RU-vid art teacher. I enjoy your videos, especially the shape episode, it told me a lot. Hope you can keep making more videos like these, thank you!
Dude, in 10 minutes you give us so much knowledge and even add some fun stuff to keep us engaged! You're the beast lol Thank you for that. Your videos are awesome!
You shure are great. Love your vids , voice, the storytelling or narrative (don't know the other word for it), and of course your art itself. Wish you all the strength.
this is a great video for two reasons. 1. it is useful and informative 2. you used music from Sam N Max and Day of the Tentacle. For this, you have my respect.
Good stuff. Ive been doing art for years with no traditional schooling, so its invaluable to revisit some of these concepts. Thanks for sharing knowledge
Hah! I like the quirkiness with the coffee guy. New viewer and subscriber here. I got you recommended by my drawing professor. Don't even regret a bit coming here. What you taught in this video is extremely valuable.
Thank you! I love how you are both skilled in art and in explaining. Also your voice is so clear, calm and professional. You seem to be in a right place doing a right thing! (been not sure about entertaining part of your show with a little guy but he appeared twice only so I think it's not too much (in my opinion)) Take care!
Im paying alot of money for my masters degree from the Academy of Art in SF and the production and information on this video is so much better than anything they produce.
The poor Boy at the end, he gave his best to bring you the Coffe. I´m in a learning progess, and every Viedio about that theme, that has an simple expletaiton helps me. Sorry, for my bad english gramma ._.
Production value is amazing! We should all strive for so good. Plus, you are able to pack a mountain of learning into 10 minutes. Surely, when you click the Upload button, you must collapse from exhaustion.
Thank you thank you very much man. I am in the process of learning to draw and you put all of this in a super simple way to understand it! I love it ! please dont stop ;)
