As a law enforcement officer I will say there was no cause to deploy less lethal tools on individuals who were not a threat. That was a violation of their rights. For any of my fellow officers out there that read this - your job is to uphold the Constitution and protect society. Do NOT become oppressors!

I’ve seen this before and get angry each time. I’m 76 years old. I was a lawyer in the NY Attorney General’s office, a probation & parole officer, and a jail classification officer, over the years. I believe that the orders were unconstitutional and would, as best as I could refuse to obey them and encourage others to do the same. The order to get inside would be met with a resounding NO. Come and arrest me. I saw news of Russian tanks going down the street in Hungary in 1956, and this brought back that memory. We absolutely must resist any such action by government.

Some of the city areas WERE being burned 😅down and the governor was not willing to call in all available resources for over 3 days. Former military and Correction's Officer here. This makes me sick! That officer had no justifiable reason to fire ANYTHING (including less lethal) at the lady filming. She had every right to do so. With last year's shooting of 4 officers in Fargo ND by a lack of better term terrorist during a simple car accident assistance, I have a different opinion of police now. Yes maybe that only applies to "good apples" but there was no justification for an attack on trainee officers and firefighters. Fargo has somewhat of a high carry rate and no one was around to assist with a sidearm. The bravery it takes for a civilian to defend someone else when under fire and not just save their own ass, I don't think is considered. Not without prior military experience or something at least. As a retired police officer I can say that police should be smart enough to know when they're given an unconstitutional order. My agency decided early on during COVID that we wouldn't be enforcing any business shut-down orders or any other nonsensical edicts emanating from the governors office. I served almost 8 years in the Marine Corps and more than 32 years in law enforcement. I trained extensively in riot control in the early 70s after the many riots regarding Viet Nam. I deployed to South L.A. during the Rodney King riots with hundreds upon hundreds of officers. I deployed to San Francisco during the first Gulf war after a friend’s patrol vehicle was torched and the Bay Bridge shut down. I saw literally hundreds of people taking to the streets to protest and even riot. Know what I didn’t see? Officers walking through peaceful neighborhoods and shooting at them with any sort of weapon. This is absolutely disgusting. Those officers should be ashamed of themselves as should the politicians responsible for those orders.

Reminds me of the 2 kids in Florida that broke into someone's house and took possession of their firearms and the cop said "Light em up" and then immediately corrected to "With flashlights!". That could have gone bad so fast. All it takes is one of those incompetent police that mistakes their sidearm for their taser to make tensions between police and civilians blow up to ungodly proportions.

You have to wonder if that happened outside your house, family members were shot at from the street while standing on your own private property for no apparent reason. After the last 4 years, I lost respect for most police. Far too many were cowards when it came to real crime and people being harmed right in front of police on video (which RU-vid deleted many of those videos), and police enforcing unconstitutional mandates. The majority of them just follow orders, regardless of how wrong those orders are. That includes Texas police (cowards) hiding down a hallway while kids are being killed, and during riots when people are being beaten and businesses being burned down right in front of police all over the country. Plus in some areas, police protect people harming kids, like in San Francisco recently, and other places with drag shows, simulating sexual acts in front of kids. Plenty of parents and police should be arrested for their harmful actions. Modern society in the USA is disgusting. So immoral and evil.

Most of the your protectors who would be attracted to keeping their neighbors safe saw the greater need was the military. My first notice of government tyranny was during the Hurricane Katrina response. I mean I was shocked at how bad LEOs were... confiscating guns, not rescuing people. By the time we got to COVID, I was already prepared, but, fortunately, we did not experience tyranny where we lived. I traveled all over, stayed at motels, rode my bike around town and along trails...all without a mask on, and I was left alone. I have chosen to move to another state because I saw too many neighbors meekly observe the mask mandates. I didn't want to be isolated if there is a next time where the government ignores our constitutional (natural) rights. GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!

I remember that. Owners had to file documentation to prove ownership of specific firearms,then file documentation to get their firearms back. Finally, when they did get the guns back, they looked like they were stored in a salt water tank.

As far as churches are concerned , since Covid there’s a movement called The Black Robe Regiment. Its churches encouraging other churches to give up their tax exempt status , and to preach political messages . And they take inspiration from the orginal Black Robe Regiment Which were the pastors that preached revolution in the Revolutionary War. Check it out, you might find it interesting.

Retired LEO. My head is spinning on this, because I don't know the full context other than this occurred during the Floyd riots (yes, they were riots, NOT "protests"; and should have been handled as such). As a retired LEO, I will preface this with I am not one to make a comment, without knowing the full picture. BUT....if this is supposed to be an enforcement of a curfew, there is a legal thing known as curtilage (legal boundary of property), which I'm pretty sure is the same in all 50 states. That being said, there is no proper reason officers should be ordering people into their houses, who are sitting LEGALLY on their front porch (which would be WELL INSIDE their curtilage), which I think would still be obeying an emergency curfew. Something was not right there, and I fear we are in for very terrifying times.
They responded this way to people on their porch and ignored the people burning the police station and destroying businesses. They chose the “battle they could win” vs. the one that actually mattered and posed a risk. I hope they were all forced to find new employment but am willing to bet they are all still Leo’s

Minnesota resident here. This doesn't shock me at all. Minnesota police state wide are corrupt, as is most Minnesota government on the state and local level. Minneapolis PD in particular have a long history of being violent. They shoot people in cars when yelling out "taser taser taser", they shoot across their partner's chest to shoot people for approaching their car (who was the person who called them in fact), they aggravate already bad situations on camera by exercising their ego instead of common sense, and now shoot pepper balls at people on their own property "for their own safety" I'm sure. This is what Minnesota gets for electing morons like Walz, and they'll keep doing it over and over.

So very few, regular citizens, inherently know this important but ignored fact. when "Yes, Father Government?" tells us to do something, and we just do it, without ever questioning, or even bothering to ask what the logic or benefit is, the bar for government overreach / civil rights benefit protection is now pushed closer and the "fair game" area is widened and our rights are reduced forever. That becomes the new president.
Completely crossed the line. These citizens were not committing any crime by standing on their own porch. A militia law and order rolling through a peaceful neighborhood ordering for those people to get in their home and yelling to light em up… this is crazy insane and completely gross.
