I think was Light's fault, normally his ledgetraps are the ones that get him the kill, in here Yaura went back to stage easily, not to discredif Yaura, he'd still beat my ahh but I think is just Light not being as he used to, give him time.

It's only fox favored on paper, in reality Samus can di away most fox combos and because fox's shine suck in ultimate he realistically can't contest much of charge shot pressure

@@noirlavender6409 Yeah you need to be a really really skilled Fox to even use the advatages. These are just super skilled Samus and Super Skilled Fox. Light had way more in the tank.

Because yaura fakes so much if he’s trying to counter too often he’ll get punished for using it. If it’s just a flash of shine all you get is a slightly more annoying game for yaura where he can time the shot for after the shine. Basically, all he’d be doing is making the game different, not easier

Good observation. Relying on shine in neutral is dangerous, especially at this level of play. It's a laggier and less complete option compared to shield, since reflector can't stop attacks other than projectiles, and you can't immediately jump/dodge/attack/etc out of shine compared to shield. It's also what I consider a "fear option", and clearly relays to your opponent what you are expecting/afraid of, much like an american air dodge or counter in disadvantage. The simple fact that Fox has a reflector is a useful pressure tool in this match up, and I'm sure Light wanted to keep Yaura guessing as to when he would use it as much as he could.

@@alvino098 The games, and even the stock/percentage leads, were very back and forth throughout the set. I don't think Light had the confidence for that. My guess is that if he had a more convincing lead, or won two games in a row, then maybe.

i don’t think a reflector is as effective when the samus is good at mixing up timings as yaura is. i don’t think he shot a single shot that was predictable in the set and doing a shine is a huge commitment

@@jamesperry8661 matter of opinion I guess but I thought at least 30% of his charge shots were predictable, maybe more. And even so light could easily use shine mix ups in neutral just to make Samus think twice. Light got hit by TONS of charge shots! I’d say 80%+ hit him and that’s just not good play when you have a tool like shine. Samus shouldn’t even feel that comfortable firing that many if you’re good at shine mix ups, shit, light didn’t even get one shine kill on a Samus player in 5 games!!!! That’s pure insanity! That’s 15 stocks and not one take by reflecting a charge shot! I just don’t see it!

Yup. Samus loses to spacies. But if you play well you can kill them easily except Wolf.

It's not her worst matchup but it's not the greatest either. She has tools like up B OOS and ledge trapping, but Yaura has been playing exceptionally lately, and light was struggling this tournament.

Sisqui proved to be just as good taking out riddles. I'd say they're tied atm depends on who gets better results next time

Well Sisqui did beat Yoshidora and Riddles, arguably two top 10 players so, I'd say they're even

Yaura also has wins on Acola and Protobanham. I can still agree that they might be even, but it just seems that Yauras wins are arguably stronger wins. Let's hope Yaura goes to more events in the future.

Yaura has better wins (Sisqui hasn't beaten acola, Sparg0 and ProtoBanham just saying) and better results. Yaura is better.

Yeah yaura is Japanese so he’s automatically better

Even from just the eye test Yaura plays better. He doesn't do nearly as many panic options. He plays netural so much better. Closest thing we'll ever get to YB. Who imo is the best Samus ult has ever seen.

What makes Sisqui the best over Yaura?

Tbh, Sisqui just was luckier with his bracket. While Yaura had to face Dabuz, Sisqui's opponents were Riddles and Yoshidora, two great matchups against Samus. As soon as Sisqui had to face less ideal matchups, against Acola and Shuton, he lost.

Low top tier IMO
