I remember as a young lad of 11 years, one day lying on my bed listening to my little transistor radio. This song hadn't been out long and when it came on the radio I got so excited and prayed they would play the long version, something they occasionally did. I waited in anticipation desperately hoping I would hear that keyboard sound, and not the guitar that comes in too soon in the shorter radio version. When I heard no guitar and only the sweet sound of that keyboard, it was the greatest feeling, one that I can still feel to this day. Lovely memory, thanks Jim & Co.

The two solos are some of the most hypnotic pieces I've ever heard.

You can't get any more classic than the Doors, think of what more they could have released well into the 70s if Morrison hadn't passed away so soon. This song perfectly encapsulates that late 60s-early 70s era. The keyboard work in this is sublime. And the full fucking 7 minutes - oh yeah

Pay special attention to the atmosphere created by the drummer.

Few artists can hook you for seven minutes without losing you. The musicianship is pure magic from start to end 🔥🔥🔥🔥
