My light-painting tubes: lightpainting....
My light-painting software: xangleapps.com...
This episode was supposed to be titled "Working in harsh conditions: the mosquitoes", but we ended up showing a lot of the beauty of our favorite lake instead. Thus, it became mostly a video about this incredible place that we captured over a 24h period on this lovely week-end of September. We got suprised to see fall colors so early in the season, and the temperature was just perfect to play in the water with the tubes.
Topics:
2:15 - Deep blue colors
3:53 - New things to put on top of the tubes
7:39 - My favorite picture
8:03 - Mosquitoes
--- About the Tube Stories
We're a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight. Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more.

6:10 to 6:58 I reckon Kim is every portrait photographer's (strobists especially I think) dream model/artist to work with. Creative, fluid and precise movements. If you guys ever visit South Africa, hit me up and I'll carry the tubes for you :-) Awesome content and thanks again for sharing.

Goodnight! very good your videos, thanks for posting! I have a doubt, in the 5:02 minute, that photo, how do they not see the person behind? and for the girl to be well exposed. Greetings from Venezuela!

Hola! :) I make sure I'm well aligned behind Kim. She is super well lit because we are shooting against the sunset. That means that what's behind us is quite dark, but there's light coming from the front. Let me know if this is clear :)

Hi Eric! Have you ever tried Light Painting Brushes stuff (like fiber optics and many more) on the top of the tubes?
@Ericpare
@Ericpare 7 лет назад
Yes I did! It's super bulky. The white one gives way too much light (hard to balance), and the black one is super dark. I abandoned quite fast, but there must be a way to do something cool with that. Let me know if you end up trying ::))

Oh thanks for feedback! I don't use LPB stuff, but I will try with other stuff :D

Hi Eric, I have two questions in light painting Eric 1. In light painting shoot after completing the shape should we turn "OFF" the light or should the light be kept ON? 2. What is the Best Shutter speed setting for light painting photography?
@Ericpare
@Ericpare 6 лет назад
Hi ::) 1- I usually keep the light on all the time. I use a wireless radio remote to control the exposure time 2- For the type of light-painting I'm doing, it's about one second (so your subject is frozen), but if you do other types of light-painting (steelwhool, etc), then it's much much longer. I hope this is helping :)

Seeing Kim's arms is painful. Poor Kim. Let's convice all mosquitoes to become Vegan ! :D Did you try a polarizer filter on your drone's camera, to enforce the colours from the forest ?
